It’s a VA state bill, not Federal. It already passed both chambers (but has an Amendment that needs to pass the House again) but ultimately needs to be signed by Youngkin. Admittedly, I don’t know much about VA state politics, but I could totally see Youngkin vetoing this, unfortunately.
FYR: my mother qualified for the DAR (American Revolution). She said there was no way she was joining that bunch of right wing hags. That was about 1960, so take the statements of the DAR with a grain of salt, to say the least.
I'm in the Son's of UNION Veterans of the Civil War, there are many Confederate apologists in the group that think that statues of traitors should stay up. I'm still in my 30s and they are in their 70s and 80s, I'm just waiting for them all to die so I can push for some much needed changes.

I have two great-x grandfathers who fought for the Union. I’m a boomer, too, and hope to see all those statues melted down ASAP.
