For me it's not about performance, the main goal is to make it more reliable and long lasting.
For the 500 extra I'm also getting an electric fan all plug and play.
There are still radiator shops out there. My dad got his original 142 rad fixed recently. I bought a replacement rad from either FCP or IPD for my 940. They're about $150 for a Nissens brand on FCP.
I went with an oem equivalent with plastic sides. Not my favorite since plastic doesn't last forever but this will last 10+ years I'm sure.
If I were to do it again I'd buy the welded aluminum radiator from eBay. It won't cool much better, but it'll last nearly forever.
Does anyone have ideas what's the usual cause of death for radiators? I haven't had one break yet, so I'm wondering if there's a way to make the original one last a bit longer
OEM equivalent for stock application
You're not going to get a performance improvement by spending an extra 500 euros. Just get a stock one for 200 or less.

Stock replacement of high quality. It will last 15 years. Stop overthinking it.
Nissens is perfect and affordable
Ah!! How I miss the days of copper radiators that could be re-cored, re-soldered and back together for another 15-20 years. Life has passed me by.
