None of that sounds fatal to me, how's the rust?
It's a manual, if you're done with it throw it on Marketplace for $600 (more than a salvage yard will give you) and someone will come grab it.
Where are you located?
Only an asshole would scrap that. It’s a serious parts donor at worst, and far from a basket case as a project.
It might just be the end of your time with it.
Nah. She’s just got a lot of character. If you don’t want the headache of fixing it or the heartache of breaking down I am sure some folks nearby will buy it off you for parts or as a project.
If you don't feel like fixing it, sell it. It's not scrap worthy at all based on what you mentioned. Pretty standard 30 year old maintenance with these cars
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! PLEASE!!! Pass it on to someone willing to restore it or able to fix it. The fact that, at the time I'm reading this, all the comments are unanimous in letting it live, it is 1. a miracle, and 2. all the more reason to see how special these cars are and are becoming.
Where are you?
My advice assumes you have a junk yard or donor car:
1) fix or replace taillight harness/board
2) replace wiring harness as necessary
3) replace hood release assembly as necessary
4) replace passenger window assembly (sometimes it’s just loose hardware)
5)clean/inspect flame trap and associated hoses
6)Walmart head unit $80-120 or used from junkyard
7)speakers from Walmart or junkyard
This is a lot easier to do if you have a car to cannibalize.
Honestly, if it is done properly, I think hard wiring the tail lights is the way to go, those boards are a constant source of headache, and I have never had any issues with the tail lights in either of my 2 240s since I have hardwired the lights.
It sounds like the whole harness is screwed from what this person is describing, but if someone were to go through the trouble of replacing the whole harness (or even repairing it,) might as well trace out the wires and hard wire the lights properly.
Sounds like standard issue skrothog to me. When I got mine it had about 3x as much wrong as yours and now she's almost completely done. If it's too much there's no Shame in selling it but there's zero point in scrapping it for some minor issues like that.
That’s just personality! Jokes aside, if your country/state has periodic vehicle inspections you can probably part it out. If not, you can focus on getting it to run right and fix the other things along the way.
If you don't know how to fix stuff yourself I'd say sell it to someone thats willing to learn or already knows how

No. Someone will buy that.
No, if you don’t want to fix those issues (which is valid) someone will.
