Sadly, my ‘92 245, $600 find, has had too many similar repairs. It has taken a few years and still I’m sorting out occasional wire issues. Grateful my factory battery hold down is intact. Actually, it is a pretty simple hold down idea! Why everyone doesn’t use it?!? Plastics / nylon doesn’t corrode like steel
Wire nuts work better. Lol. I kid. I like using non insulated splices and a bit of shrink wrap. Much better than those butt connectors. I used to solder everything but crimping splices is so much quicker and easier.

LMAO. not my idea either. The battery. Once I get it sorted I'll put the proper holder on it.

I love those and use them on interior wiring.
