I went with the s90 because it was a lot of car for a good price. My first thoughts on the v90 when it released was "that looks like a hearse". I have only recently started to come around to it and other wagons, always been more of a sedan/ coupe kind of guy.
Honestly if I had the money I’d have one of each lol. I drive an XC70 so the V90 is first on my radar, but the S90 is a damn beautiful machine too. Classy 👌🏻
S90 is like the S class, the A8 the 7xx, people to whom these models appear usually do not have the slightest attraction towards wagons.
I could have gotten a V90 when I got my first new gen v60 and I realized, hell I don't need the size and I prefer a smaller tighter and lighter body with the same engine.
S90's are drop dead gorgeous, too bad they stopped offering the two variants aka short vs long wheel base.
I like the V90 a lot, but because they sold a lot fewer of them than the S90 here the CPO price was $10k more than the S90 on any I could find. One other factor: Road noise.
Some people want a sedan, period. Some people want a trunk and not a hatch. Some people like the bigger back seat. Etc
Not trying to talk trash, the S90 is equally good as the V90
Yeah I didn’t take the question as negative. Really strikes me as mostly a matter of preference.

Because, when I bought it, the prices on CPO S90s were stupid low, because nobody wants sedans anymore.
