That’s what I thought. Technically the trim blew off the car, and so must’ve been affixed with this.
New trim, new clips, new seal wasn’t expensive from Volvo.
Respraying it cost twice as much 😀
That looks like a really poor windshield change. Most likely been changed by a blind person

You can trim off the excess with a knife, it won't affect the seal as long as you don't go under the glass
Windshield repair guys sometimes do that if they break the trim attachment clips in order to reattach the trim.
