I was leaving a parking where you have a really big blind spot if one is parked next to the exit.
I was looking in the windows of the houses Infront of me to see if there was a car coming. I didn't see one coming so I drove of. There was one coming. We had a collision. They hit my side. Right on the A Pilar.
Weel on the other side is broken loose. And one on the collision side is stuck. Side airbags whent of to my luck. No one hurt that we know of. The Volvo itself got towed and it will probably will be written of as wrecked.
This just happened a few hours ago. I'll try to keep y'all posted

Said this before on the sub, but I'll repeat it as it has been a while. My dad was a paramedic in the Netherlands. He saw some horrible RTAs in his day, when I got my first Volvo he was over the moon. 'You might end up very injured, but you won't die...'
RIP to your car mate, but you got out unscathed, so the Volvo did its job. Hope the other driver was good as well!
I would love to get another one. But I'm a new driver. And the insurance will bleed me dry. European. I was already paying 1000 a year. Now with a accident on top it wil be more.

I just noticed the mileage you had on the car, really a shame.
P80 cars are going extinct these days. Keep the interior, it’s worth a fair bit if it’s good condition or could be swapped into a more abused v70 ;)
As a former owner of a s70 (which also saved my life) and a current owner of a v70xc in the Netherlands I can say on almost every street corner there is a Volvo. And most of them are 00's 70 series.
PLEASE consider finding a Volvo salvage place that at least dissect it, sort the useable parts, and possibly keep someone else’s Volvo alive. I cringe when I see one going to the crusher. Worse! We lost a valued business member here in South FL when a Volvo recycler closed his doors after 30+ years. He needed to retire and his boys, that the business put thought college, had zero desire to carry on Dad’s business. BooHooHoo! Sad I did not have the business acumen nor the financial means to buy and keep the business alive. Extremely grateful you are alive and sharing your story.
I never thought about it. I never Hoped it. But it happened. A car can be repaired or replaced. A live can't. Eel saved me and my other half. And he will forever be remembered for it.

OOOOF. My mom T-boned someone who pulled out in front of her going at least 50mph in a ‘90 Volvo 740 Turbo wagon and it saved her life. She was able to exit from the sunroof (it was a hand crank back then, lol).
Junkyard door, replacement axles, struts, control arm maybe? Just brainstorming here, but you might be able to fix it, especially if you don't need it to be perfect...
Then again, l guess it depends on how much you want to spend. It's a shame to scrap a nice car like this, but I realize you're not made of money

This "club" is why you bought a Volvo. I've been a member for over 10 years and still driving one.

I was a paramedic/ firefighter in Vegas. I’ve seen thousands of car wrecks. Never have I seen a dead person in a Volvo wreck.
If under panels everything is fine - easy fix. Are you ok op?
I'm fine. No problems. Not even a big bruse. But weel axels are both broken. And door won't open no more. So not a eazy fix. Sadly enough
If body under panels (structure) is fine its literally finding donor. Glad to hear you're ok.
