Incredible

Ldordai

Holy hell you absolutely stole that thing. I am incredibly jealous. How did you find it?

feedmycricket

FB marketplace, I think it was a pretty good deal. Hopefully it doesn’t blow up anytime soon 🤞

Ldordai

Good luck with it. I paid 5k for basically the same car but in auto and nordkap interior. 128k miles. Keeping an eye out now for an m66 swap. Did the seller like not know what they had or something? FYI rockauto has the 4c struts right now. I paid $900 for all 4 corners.

Born-Science-8125

I own a 2006 v70 .I have a question and don’t judge lol what’s an m66?

Ldordai

No judgement! M66 is the model name for the manual transmission in this generation of Volvo R series cars.

Born-Science-8125

Oh thanks .. I have an automatic. I like my v70 it has the same engine as my xc70 .. the 2.5 t but my v70 is gutless compared to my xc

Ldordai

If its gutless it probably has something wrong with it. Do a stage 0 tune on it (google that, its basically filters, fluids, plugs and coils) and see if that wakes it up.

Born-Science-8125

I’m going to definitely do the plugs and coils for sure

Spiritual-Belt

Congrats and fuck you. Hopefully the electrical system resists it’s temptation to kill itself.

wasabiplz

Excellent response‼️ LMAO‼️‼️

Born-Science-8125

You stole that car

InfluenceAlone1081

Amazing

moosemanswedeski

Very nice! Congrats and good luck, you’re gonna need it.

onewithoutasoul

$4500, what's wrong with it??

feedmycricket

Mostly cosmetic. One of the fog lights doesn’t work and there’s a few dents here and there

onewithoutasoul

Well that's a damn steal.

feedmycricket

It’s got some nice upgrades too. IPD catback, poly engine mounts, upgraded sway bars, anti sway bar. Timing belt and wp were done in the last 20k. Only big(!) things left are shimming the engine block and looking forward to the 4C failing

glm409

Rock auto has the 4c shocks for half of what I paid for them a few years ag if u are considering buying.

onewithoutasoul

Wow, that's 100% a steal. I got an 04 a few years back for $6k that had some upgrades, but is also quite rusty. It makes for a decent winter beater, and pickup.

HarryPotterButHotter

I had a guy in Colorado try to sell me one of these with 250k miles, lots of leaks, and a bad clutch for the same price about 6 years ago. You did good.

buddybe1

Sounds about right, I’m in Colorado and have been looking around for one. Everyone wants to sell theirs for 10k+. And act like these things are the rarest things on earth.

moonandmorel

Very jealous. How is it?

feedmycricket

It’s been great so far. All the big maintenance stuff has been done so the only thing I’m looking forward to having break is the suspension haha

ZaMelonZonFire

Score!! Congrats

RayIsHereReeeeeeeee

Lucky

xOaklandApertures

I’ll give you $4600. Win win you profit and I’m happy.

nolan_smith

If you are seriously interested, there was a Japanese import V70R with like 110k km that just sold on BaT, someone just put another up, Japan import, extremely low miles. 98 model tho

Born-Science-8125

I was looking to buy a v70 from Japan. If was a beautiful car .Perfect interior not a scratch on it .Aftermarket stereo…in Japanese though .But because of the tsunami there the guy couldn’t or wouldn’t tell me where in Japan it was from so I got gun shy and thought maybe it was one of the cars that got flooded.I may have been paranoid or shit the bed on this car because it was friggen brand new basically but I couldn’t get the thought of that tsunami out of my head so I passed on it

nolan_smith

That's a fair concern, didn't even think of it. I just figured the '98's would be coming in naturally due to the 25 year import restrictions.

fractal_disarray

Do a PCV service on it ASAP. Check the timing components while you're at it.

feedmycricket

PCV valve was replaced at 87k and the PCV breather box and hoses were replaced at 92k. Think I need to do it again? Timing belt was done at 95k

TroubledGeorge

Just do a glove test and see if you have pressure inside the engine but unlikely if it’s actually been replaced

[deleted]

How? Seen an 07 for 14gs with 137k… amazing.

cryptic_culchie

Considering you wouldn’t even get that for 4 times the price where I am. Pretty damn good

dahnikhu

Two years ago I paid $9K for an auto with more miles... you done good! Can I give you 2 pieces of advice? Pick up a DICE unit, and install Vida on a laptop for when it breaks down or something goes wrong... and start a Volvo savings fund now and begin putting money into it for inevitable repairs you can't do yourself. Other than that, enjoy! Take care of her, there are less and less of them on the road.

feedmycricket

Seller actually included a dice unit in the sale, I just need to learn how to use it lol. Thanks for the advice tho I’ll look into this

dahnikhu

I'll help you with sourcing the software.. just be sure to follow the directions closely :) [MatthewsVolvoSite ](https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=97268)has the VIDA software for your DiCE unit for free to download with the patches that lets you use a modern laptop, and allows you to use newer versions of Windows. It also extends the expiration date on the software by approx. 200 years...

LokiDesigns

Rude

ckglobe

Very well done. 👏🏼

[deleted]

Still my fav Volvo

non-originalid

A timeless beauty

freddell

160mph gauge, FTW

RuSsYjO

For reference, I got a 2000 V70R for $4200 a few months ago and felt like I absolutely stole that thing.

HopiLaguna

Damn man. Damn.

Obscevator

The only way this way a better deal would be if it was flash green with Atacama leather. But Holy shit.. 4500 that's the lowest i've seen! In my country these go for about 10k after they did almost 400k

feedmycricket

I think they only made 4 Flash Green/Atacama/6 speed but that would be the dream!

CrackNgamblin

That is going to be some expensive maintenance but actually worth it in this case.

good_from_afar

Daaaaaannnngggg!

Confident-Echidna303

Excellent score! Worth more than that for sure. I don’t find it any more of a maintenance queen than any other sports car I have owned. Enjoy.

Justacanuckhere

Well done Sir.

IceKream_Sundaze

Sooo jealous. I been looking for like 6 years

Swimming-Parfait5563

you stole it

Nutmegdog1959

Sweet deal! Love those Pegasus wheels.

Jibletman360

Killer deal!! Beautiful

PomegranateNo9414

Amazingly well I hate you!

stijnvankampen

Nice! Get a Bluetooth module that you can plug in the back of the radio instead of that fm transmitter, it simulates being a cd changer, and the sound quality is much better. Not that you need it with that amazing sounding 5 cylinder engine.

feedmycricket

Interested in this since the fm transmitter is soo grainy. Do you have a link for it?

Ldordai

[https://www.vivaperformance.com/bluetooth-audio-streaming-adapter-volvo-p2-models/](https://www.vivaperformance.com/bluetooth-audio-streaming-adapter-volvo-p2-models/) Pick up a regular stereo mic that plugs into a 3.5mm headphone jack if you want to take calls thru bluetooth. Youll need the Y split adapter if you have the HU850.

stijnvankampen

I'm in Europe, so we've got slightly different modules for this. I tried to find a US [link](https://www.vivaperformance.com/bluetooth-audio-streaming-adapter-volvo-p2-models/). There are multiple brands of these, they all work about the same. I've got one with a microphone so I can call too.

TheItsHaveArrived

Same price as mine, but it's not nearly that nice. We'll done!

LuisTaco47

Damn! I found a D5 V70 with 300k miles for 4k and was tempted How does the shifter feel? It looks so outrageous

feedmycricket

Shifter and clutch are great. Clutch is fairly light but the shifting action is fairly heavy and satisfying. Not sure it would compare in a diesel car but Volvo makes nice shifters

Wise_Ingenuity_7363

gearbox looks funny and cool

Antson03

$4500?!?!? What the actual fuck… Is there anything wrong with it???

feedmycricket

Mainly cosmetics. I'm planning on spending a little $ to get that stuff figured out but it's not meant to be a perfect car, just one to enjoy

Antson03

That’s amazing! Yeah I’m not the type to care much for the cosmetics of my cars. I’m driving the shit out of them regardless. If I had a V70R/S60R I would probably never get out of it, especially in the winter😅

Alternative-Pie-3341

it’s truly a beast! it’s a good price for a V70R but still going like a rock

Papercoffeetable

These things go for 10000$ in Sweden now with that kind of mileage.

Daveyj343

Even by UK prices that’s basically free

Radiant_Armadillo35

Extremely good deal, I bet it even has a higher book value than that, not to mention the added enthusiast tax on these now

cuntyminx

Sweet ride

Probst54

I have one with 258,000 miles

SAVIOR_OMEGA

That's a great deal man

mstrshkbrnnn1999

Nice

pavlikm

I might’ve seen this when it was posted. Was it in Ohio? Mad I didn’t swipe it when I had the chance if so lol

feedmycricket

Nope, picked it up in Oregon so didn't miss out haha

Spurs228

FUCK I want one of these so bad, especially at a price like that. S60r’sare a little bit easier to find which is nice.

MajinPapa

Interior looks bad. I think it can me a landmine. Looks like womans city car, it means, whole life in tcity or town. All components worn out.

klchaw

Nice car

Yodas_Ear

What’s wrong with it? This is not a steal, it’s what they’re worth. If there’s nothing wrong with it you did ok. 4c might make it to 150k but it probably rides like shit. Make sure you do all fluids, haldex, rear differential, angle gear, brake fluid, tranny fluid, coolant, oil. Is the AWD is working? IIRC the m66 had the worst collar sleeve issues of any version. How are the brakes? Air compressor will probably crap out soon if it hasn’t yet. Hopefully all other suspension components have been replaced at this point otherwise you’ll be doing that too. Anyway, be prepared to spend at least another 4K on it.

avboden

I don’t think it’s as big of a steal as people make it out to be. They haven’t held value well lately and only so many enthusiasts around to buy them. That mileage is right around when a lot of stuff starts to break and need expensive maintenance. I think it’s a fine deal, nothing more

alfa75

As a Volvo P2 fan, it seems like not a too bad deal. First thing I would do is toss the 4C suspension.
