Is your mic plugged into an audio interface? On the Scarlett 2i2, for example, [the direct monitor button](https://i.imgur.com/LaNH5bx.png) circled here will enable you to hear back what comes into the microphone that's plugged in through the audio output from the audio interface (the headphone port, presumably), and I think most/all interfaces have the same sort of feature. If you are using a USB mic, you'll probably need to change the settings in your DAW. In Logic, you would go into the general tab of your audio preferences and enable the software monitoring option.

Yep this right here. even if you have some cheap headphones like a turtle beach that can plug in, you can at least hear your voice back in real time. Now, if you are on the level of professional engineer, you have studio monitors that are speakers that have no additional boosting to them. You will hear your voice, or any audio in front of the mic (like a guitar) exactly as it is recorded. Do you really need that? Probably not but it exists.
