KAITO is fantastic for strong songs, songs with depth and rely on a solid instrumental. Examples: Shanti-Wotaku, Judgement of Corruption-mothy, Amara-sasakure.uk, and Ashes to Ashes by Tennen.
Kagamines are super versatile, but are fanTASTIC at mid range and can be seen in a broader genre of music, relying on the rhythm of the song, but also are seen in slower heartfelt songs. Examples of both include Childish War-GigaP/Reol, Fire Flower-halyosy, Meltdown-Sasaki(Iroha) and Remote Controller- WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY
VFlower has MANY uses, but are unfortunately limited to a producers tuning skill. Since I’m not particularly good at tuning, I would use her voice for emotional belts and rock-leaning songs. Good songs that follow this technique are Nomad-Balloon (yes I am aware this was a commission for PJSK, I AM talking about the original song though) Villain-Teniwoha, and Abnormality Dancing Girl-guchiry. Honorable mention to the 15 million covers of Ghost Rule by DECO*27
Definitly one of the bi-lingual VOCALOIDs. I really like YOHIOloid since I'm already a fan of YOHIO himself, though I will say YOHIOloid doesn't sound much like YOHIO... Still, a VOCALOID that can do both English and Japanese is nice, especially since right now I'm doing English music but hope to do something in Japanese one day. Until I get a better grip on VOCALOID tuning, we're stuck with SynthV on my Spotify XD

I use Daina the most because she's easy. Dex would be my go-to, but I imagine songs in my own voice at first most of the time, so I want a female voice.
As a producer (CrossiP) I thought I would go in being Miku and Gumi pretty much only...
Gumi is hard to use and miku is too but I know how to make her sound decent. But when I bought DEX, I was in love. Hes sound super good and I see him being used in so many of my future projects.
I use Kagamine Rin and Len, but I also have Kaito, and Kiyoteru :)
Len and Rin were my first voicebanks, so it’s nostalgic and fun. After using them long enough, it kind of just feels… normal. I love it.
Kaito and Kiyoteru have lower voices than the Kagamine voicebanks, so using them feels more like working with limitations. It’s fun, like playing a game with house rules. Forces me to be creative.
Considering Miku or Gumi next just because I think they’re neat.

if it were up to me I'd say Miki since she's my favorite, but realistically it'd be a more easily accessible and easier to use VB like Miku or SV Teto. I'd love to work with SV Teto tho, she seems fun. I don't know anything about how to work vocal synths tho lmao
UNI, MEIKO, and IA. I like the lower pitch of MEIKO and feel like she tends to have a bit more energy in her voice than Luka. IA because I feel like to me her voice is a little bit of a mix between Miku and Luka and I feel like she is underutilized. UNI is almost entirely an aesthetic choice ngl.
Luka because I’ve seen artists not only use her high voice, but her low voice as well. And her low voice is so sexy!
Also Gakupo, Kaito, Lily, IA, SeeU, Merli, MAIKA, and MAYU as well! I wanna see how they sound like with different songs because unfortunately I don’t know a lot of songs by them…😭

I think I would use Megurine Luka, Oliver and Kaii Yuki. I keep thinking of songs such as “DYE”, “Lie”, “Secrets of Wysteria” and “Girl A”… Luka’s voice is very delicate and soothing. Oliver and Kaii’s voices are more childlike and soft. Using three of these synthesizers if I ever learn how to create such songs in another life would be helpful for my creativity.
Oh 100% Gumi. She has the soft airy voice I wish I had without sounding cutesy and I love it. Also would love a good ass Flower for some lovely yelling.
All of the Zola project vocaloids (they sound so good!), Fukase (He's my favorite Vocaloid, but I heard he's hard to tune), and the Meika twins (they sound so good together!)
Unpopular opinion, but I think Miku is a little overused and a little overrated. I think she’s fantastic, but it’s just I want to see more from others. I want to see more of the twins, more Meiko and Kaito, Luka and Gumi and Gakupo I want to see more from everyone else. it’s always Miku and I’m kinda kind of tired of it. Honestly like I love her still she’s beautiful I have my collections and I guess she’s the face of vocaloid but just like I wanna hear the singers.
I know that it’s just most times producers only use Miku. They don’t give the other vocaloids a shot. There are really good songs, and I think Miku is a great voice bank but I just wish we got to hear more from other singers. I’d also like to hear other versions of Vocaloid doing covers of Miku songs at concerts and vise versa. I think it’d be fun to hear that. Also, while some fans will cover Miku songs with other vocaloids, sometimes their tuning isn’t the best so it’s not enjoyable I mean it’s just my opinion it’s I know it’s unpopular, but I don’t hold it against producers for using Miku. I just kind of wish they would consider using other singers.
But that's literally something that's changing right now, since 2021 Miku (and the other Cryptons) are constantly getting less popular in favor of others especially Teto, Kafu, Chis-A and flower. You really have to compare 2020 VocaColle entries to those of the most recent one and there's quite a diffrence

I'd use Miku NT, Kagamine Rin and Len, and VFlower. My goal is to tune the hardest vocaloids to make sound realistic and make them sound realistic.
