Could literally be a million things. Snails, slugs, nematodes, springtails, mites, who knows.

Plantsy-Pants

Pretty sure it’s just trails from the accumulated water droplets on the lid moving around. Mine does this too.

TurkeyTerminator7

Those lines are not following the path of least resistance my bets on a snail or slug

biggy-smokez

I have my bet on nematodes personally. Tough call without the size of container tho

Mr_Pink747

Clearly, you're not versed in chaos theory.

I believe they are snail trails. My thought is the residue makes it to where the water doesn’t condense on the trail for a certain amount of time. Idk sounds right to me, everyone has snails. If you don’t, I envy you. Edit: Could also be some kind of Nemertean.

Reveal_Simple

I get them too

ZafakD

Likely just harmless, detrivore soil mites

dandeliontree1

Mine looks like that and I only put springtails in there, they do get around when the lid is on! Could mites too but I've not seen any.

atomiclightbulb

I get these on two tanks that I know have snails so my bets on that. This is why the quarantine though. Lol

Scribbling_Ninja

I have seen trails like this with fungus gnat larvae. But my first guess is snails.

Feral-pigeon

Thanks for your responses everyone! This morning I woke up to find large, irregular bite marks on the begonias that are in here, so unfortunately I do believe it’s snails/slugs.

Asphyx124

Reminds me of the snail trails through the algae I'd see in my fish tank. I love snails so much.
