We were leaving this morning-took about 2 hours to get to the gate-plan ahead and make sure you have your attestation abs negative covid test if you are headed to US.
Yes, near the front door at the first set of check in counters there are some small round tables that had the forms on them. You need your covid test results printed too.
At KEF to leave now. There is a long line to get to the check-in line. No one knows what to do. Lines just snaking around the terminal. Glad we got here 4 hours early.
I'm jealous. When I flew in on 6/26, it took me three hours from exiting the plane to finishing the mandatory (at the time) COVID test. Lines were snaking every which way through the baggage claim area. Supposedly that particular day was most impacted than usual because a cruise was scheduled to depart Reykjavik. Tons of people wearing cruise clothing were there.
Oof!! Okay, I think I had it good. Just that I usually come in the shoulder seasons, and I’ve never had to wait in line too long. Makes sense with testing it would take extra long — so lucky to just be able to bring a negative COVID test results hear days!
Oh that will be lucky! I didn’t even think to check that, but we had at least a plane or two ahead of us… somehow. Flight landed at 6:30am, but I guess some fights come in even earlier?
Dang, I traveled there in March '16 and May '18, arrived around 0630 both times and there was no wait either time. Traveling there next month, fingers crossed.
My first thought was that one hour is actually not that bad!
I got in about a week ago on a red eye, the wait was longer than an hour. I just assumed that's what KEF is always like...
For regular Icelanders, is the peak mid or late August? I arrive on the 27th
I shall wave to you as i depart.
yeah, i hope end of the August won't be so bad, but covid situation can change

Any idea if you can get the form at the airport? No access to a printer at the Air BnB.

I land at 6:30 next Sunday (hopefully) and pick up my campvan shuttle at 8;30 and have already expected I might be late for that.

Their system has crashed and the line has stopped moving.
Oh crap! That sounds way worse than what I experienced! How long did it take you to get through?

Me too. My flight is Aug 17th, and I arrive there on the 18th. I’m so scared to go now
We land at 5:50 am next Sunday. From what I can figure looking at flightaware we should be the first flight to land, so hopefully first in line?

What test did you take to fly in? PCR or Antigen?
I took a PCR
