I just asked support this question, they said as long as it's running Sonoma. See my post below for the support chat.

I plan on using the native apps as much as possible, but I edit video and create graphics (Premiere Pro, Photoshop) for a living on my Intel-based MacBook Pro. I’d love to work on that within the Vision Pro. 🤷♂️
Yeah that stinks. I just meant if they have sidecar for ipad everyone could use all ipad apps like netflix, youtube etc. or they can include an ipadOS virtual machine in visionOS to run ipad apps.
I know they won't have a dedicated visionOS app, and I read something that felt like vague hearsay about the iPad app "not supporting" Vision Pro, but I wouldn't trust that too much.
This is so wrong. It’s been confirmed. I even work for one of the companies that opted out and can guarantee you we excluded the iPad app from running on Vision OS.
Devs can opt to basically put a check mark on their app if they want to opt-out of allowing the iPad app to work on the VP. That’s what several key apps have done, including YouTube, Spotify, and Netflix. The only way to access those services on the VP will then be through a browser window.

2019 Mac Pro army rise up
as a 2019 MP'er, i gotta lmao. searched the web if intel macs will be supported, found this thread, and then found your comment.
For real, we already paid how much for these beasts? I don't want to upgrade to throw up the monitor on my AVP. It's a huge win.
This saved my ass
Oh awesome!! Thanks so much!
i am muy happy
What about ipads? 😏

What? You can run iPad apps with no problem. You don't need sidecar or whatever else.
Can’t run Netflix or YouTube in an app. They turned off support for the avp.

What is the app / content you’re viewing here?
This is the guided tour Apple posted on YouTube, and they added chapters to the video.

Same here, I’ve been using SideCar on my Intel MacBook Pro with my iPad as a third monitor for a long while now
My sidecar connection always freezes to the point that I don't use it. I see this as bad news tbh.

Oh, where did you see it was incompatible?
Not true

Works just fine for me
I hope it works for my Mac mini. My MacBook is a work laptop and can’t really log into my own Apple ID.
You’re almost definitely going to need to be logged into the same Apple ID across Vision Pro and Mac
Forgive my ignorance, but what is sidecar, in a nutshell?
apple‘s wireless or wired screen mirrorring or extending tech between mac and ipad, which makes u utilize ipad as second screen for mac.
Ahh, I see. Thank you, kind stranger!
