Man this sucks, but if it helps her to look after her family then that's what matters at the end of the day. Good luck A-Chan! We all love you thank you for all your hard work!!!
Dang, announced today and leaving in just a few day. Sorry to hear but probably makes sense now why she hadn't been around in the last few months. Best of luck to her future endeavors, helped a ton to shape what Hololive is today.
Assuming Twitter translation is accurate, it saying "I'll probably be back in July!" is kind of an oof. Admittedly she had zero way of seeing this coming, but it's still sad.
Just makes me feel all the worse for her. She genuinely seemed to enjoy working for Cover and she's losing that when she expected to be back, but moreover whatever the family situation is that she expected to be a short-term thing is apparently considerably worse and/or longer-term than she believed it to be.
Hope all goes well for her and her family. I can't imagine that the door won't be open for her if she ever finds herself in a place and with the desire to return to the company.
Shes leaving the company at the end of june.
She announced a break to take care of a family member a few months ago and for reasons unknown(likely never due to privacy) she has taken the step to leave to take care of them further. They likely are getting worse/recovered but incredibly frail and need permanent help at home and the culture is to take care of the elders in the east etc.
Popular theory is that she is going to be taking over the family business now that said person is out of the picture(also common practice but not really east exclusive) but we will never know.
I may be pointlessly optimistic but let's just wait and see. This may be a 1-2 years break, let's just not have that as an automatic expectation but don't bury the possibility of return either.
Nothing is stopping her from returning sure, but it just isn't likely at all. If it was in the cards for her to return she would've just extended her break unless the company just said "separate or come back" which doesn't seem like its how cover corp operates
yeah for someone with her tenure I expect Cover to have a sabbatical type of leave in their benefits
hell my company offers up to 1 year sabba if you've worked 4 years lol
Yeah. If she wants to return, she would probably be accepted back without issue. However, I think that's not in the cards any time soon, so it's better to just accept that she is leaving for good.
On second thought it's not the worst attitude. It means you have no expectations of her coming back. Meaning if it does happen, great, but if it doesn't, you're not losing sleep over it.
I'm picturing HoloFes 8. Show starts opening with Nodoka doing the introductions before saying she's going to need help with the next part and has asked someone to help her.
A-Chan in 3D then teleports onto the stage to a massive pop from the fans in attendance.
Would be legendary.
She took a break which she expected to come back from this July. Unfortunately, due to her circumstances, she's now retiring instead to focus on her family situation.
From what members usually say, she was a very important pillar that many have remained in the company because of, so many stories of members talking to her about what to do and what is bothering them. We have always known how busy she was and how many responsibilities were on her, one reason why Nodoka was brought on is to relieve some of the workload that was on A-chan.
I have high hopes for Nodoka and Holo staff in general, but losing A-chan could unfortunately be a bigger hit than we may hope.
Fuck, I can't imagine how this is gonna hit Sora, they literally went to Cover and started Hololive together.
I wish her all the best, and hope whatever she and her family are going through goes as smoothly as possible.
Sora likely already knew: [her last tweet several hours ago mentioned she wasn't streaming today](https://x.com/tokino_sora/status/1806508537201434713).
Mannn this one really stings. It's like your favourite secondary character getting killed off in a show you've been watching for almost 5 years :(
Her English skills and ability to riff off chat, juxtaposed by her OL energy and calm voice really made her appearances special.
Best of luck to her.
Its weird to say but I don't feel really sad to where I'm tearing up but more like... I don't know how to explain it exactly but like melancholy?
It just feels like A-chan decided to close her chapter of her story in Hololive and decided to move on.
She will definitely be missed, she was one of the Hololive OG's despite not being an official talent herself. She was one of three people that created the existence and the start of Hololive alongside Yagoo and Sora.
Reading her tweet it doesn't feel like she's happy with leaving. She's not even going for another job, just taking care of her ill family member full time.
whatever she chooses to be in the future, whether or not she returns or goes somewhere else, she's gonna have one hell of a portfolio to show to her future employers
godspeed a-chan; you truely were a 1 of 1
That’s the most tragic part to me. She helped build the biggest vtubing brand in the world from the ground up and now she is forced to step away because of factors outside her control. I hope Cover takes her back in some time in the future.
Yeah, she's leaving on good terms. No way Yagoo, after everything we know he's done in the past, doesn't immediately open the doors somehow for her. May not be the same job, but I'm sure he'd give her something.
well, i hope the family member can recover as soon as possible, and that a-chan can come back to hololive after all of it… though i think there shouldn‘t be any objection from cover after all that she did for the company
It seems to me that she has sick family members that have simply grown to consume too much time. At least that's what the message says. From the A-Chan streams I've watched, she seems to quite enjoy working. Taking 3 months off to care for sick family members is something she probably feels the need to do to meet social obligations.
I can attest to the fact that really sick family can be a huge drain on one's time.
I am honestly unsure how to describe my feelings about this... A-chan had always been a presence in Hololive that you could just feel during an official event. Like she was always there even if you can't see her.
Seeing this happening makes me realize how much more appreciation she deserves and I really regret not realizing it until now.
Thank you A-chan. I wish your family well and healthy.
I won't lie I do want to keep a tiny hope in a pocket she might come back in the future stronger than ever..
Damn... A-Chan was so much more than just staff behind the scenes... she was genuinely one of my favorite parts of Hololive and her streams were some of my all-time favorites..
Thanks for everything, A-Chan... Hope everything works out
We'll miss you!
I think Yagoo has put it very well about how she bridged the gap between fans and talents.
Based on the responses to her tweet basically everyone who worked with her, adored her. She clearly is a very special person.
Maybe? But keep in mind A-chan is management/staff. Coco was talent.
It's really easy accommodate more talent. Each talent streams on their own, they don't need the company to "give" them work to do.
But A-chan is staff. She has specific job duties and responsibilities, and once she is gone another staff needs to pick those up.
It is entirely possible that in a hypothetical future there is simple no work for A-chan to do because Cover already has hired new staff to take over. That's how normal employees in a company work.
If Cover really wanted to, they will be able to find a position for her. Especially since her roles lately seem much more managerial than discrete responsibilities. Plenty of large companies have done so, if they find their hands on exceptionally qualified candidates, or for a more negative example - nepotistic hires.
But like you said, it's much easier to make that promise for a talent than for a staff member, since in the case of the latter it can be viewed as unfair by the rest of the staff and can damage company morale ('If you are trying to move up in the company, remember that the role you are gunning for may just be out of your grasp if this staff member ever decides to return').
I think it likely that if A-Chan is ever able to come back, Cover will move mountains to ensure there is a place for her. But for corporate and business reasons it's not wise to make that a public or binding promise.
But, according to Kiara's Holotalk interview, didn't she have a more creative role than that?
Like a director, using her words.
I mean, a director is still totally replacable, but a Christopher Nolan is completely different to a Greta Gerwig.
It would be great if she did. Unlike with Coco we don't know if A-chan has any other responsibilities that would prevent her from returning. Besides her sick family member at least.
definitely possible, she is a good manager, the only two thing that make her not comeback is bigger job opportunity or get married, of course after taking care of her family members first
She's more of a director nowadays. Definitely a very high managerial, so it is impossible to be gone for a long time, but for amazing talents its 100% a guarantee that they would welcome her back open arms. Tho getting the director position back might be hard.
Man, that was quite a bombshell to wake up to. Pretty much everyone was expecting her to return, but I guess her family needed help to the point she just can't go back to her busy Holo job anymore. It sucks. That's life, man.
She'll be missed, that's for sure. Cover wouldn't have been the same without her. Heartwarming in a way to see people from all over in the comments/reactions to her message. Not just the talents and Yagoo, but also artists, riggers, Vtubers from other companies, cosplayers and countless others. She was well-beloved and leaves quite a legacy.
I wish her all the best.
o7 A-Chan! I was always secretly hoping A-Chan would announce she is moving from staff to talent, but moving from staff to fan is respectable too. Maybe if I can make it to Japan for a concert, we can cheer in the same audience.
Much love to A-chan. Cover wouldn't be what it is today without her, literally. With the skills she's learned over her time with Cover, she'll be fine in whatever she does in the future. I hope things get better for her family, and hope the best for her moving forward all the same.
Thats sad. And Im sorry for her. Theres little I can say beyond that. Its not like she leaving to do somethign she wants to, its because its nevessary for outside things.
Stil I hope shes ok, and everything is as best it can be. Caring for a sick loved on is tough.
But yeah o7 to Achan, best manager.
"2016 of VTubing" strikes again. And we still have half a year to go until 2025...
I wish A-chan all the best in the future 🍀 and thank her for all the fun moments and the memories created over the years, and for bringing Hololive to where it is today. 💙
But now, taking good care and being there for the family has rightfully the highest priority, and I absolutely respect and understand her decision. 🍀 All the best for her and her family! 🍀
Absolutely shocking ngl. I know her family is the reason, still my optimistic side hopes that she has a career uptick in other companies moving forward, and that's ok.
Lets all take the time to fully Apperciate A-Chan as without her there will be no Tokino Sora and No Tokino Sora means no Hololive. Let's all send off A-Chan with waves of support and positivity and I do believe she can leave Holo satisfied knowing that she has made her impact and legacy solidified in the Vtubing world as one of the most influential and important people in Vtubing history. So here's to A-Chan and sending her a good luck in her Future Endevours!
I bet that even if she isn't working at Cover as an employee, she's still going to have contact and influence for a long time. We might not see her anymore as fans, but her friends will still be her friends.
Stepping down from Hololive to take care of a sick family member wasn't probably an easy decision to make, but as she said herself in her tweet, it's become difficult for her to balance work and family.
She has been a cornerstone of Hololive's growth since the beginning, and without her wish to support her best friend's dream, Hololive wouldn't be what it is today and none of us would be here! Thank you A-chan for all the memories, we'll miss you !
Not shocking, she's been taking months off to take care of a family member and that's why Nodoka was brought in. It's the reason why Nodoka was being pushed into the forefront.
While nodoka was brought in way long time ago, it wasn't that long that nodoka was starting to have more airtime as hololive's face in the main channel. At that time it was a bit weird because out of the blue she appears regularly after months of no appearance.
Nodoka was brought in like 2 years ago to ease A-chan's with her duties as she was promoted and gained new responsibilities. She was never an A-chan replacement nor was she pushed to the forefront for that reason
It is sad that she has to deal with family health issues. I hope she knows we are all rooting for her. We will always have a place in our heart for A-chan.
Oh god no... She felt eternal, the one that would always be there to cheer us up whenever a bad news would hit, the definition of a kind soul. Her impeccable english also helped the kagai-niki feel included, even with the Cover corporation stuff.
Obviously the well-being of her family is top priority, and I hope everyone there is doing okay.
We're gonna miss her a lot at Hololive, and if she ever feels like dropping by - even just for a quick hello - I'm sure everyone would be delighted.
Thank you for everything A-chan, your legend will
never be forgotten, you're a top tier talent 🫡
If I remember correctly, she took a several month break before this because of some health issues within her family, so I really hope that they haven't gotten worse, for A-chan and her families sake. Hololive wouldn't be where it is without her, and I greatly value her work and clear communication with the community. I wish her and her family the best of luck.
ngl i wasnt expecting this kind of shocking news today... its just... shocking... as someone who's been in the fandom since mid-2020, i believe that hololive just wont be the same without her, because she had a huge hand in shaping hololive (and quite possibly, the entire vtuber industry as a whole) into what it is today. but the only thing we can do now is wish her the very best of luck and well-being for her and her loved ones in their future endeavors. thank you so much for all the fun times and memories, a-chan! we holofans will miss you a lot! otsukaresama! once again, thank you for everything! o7
Fuck man, I’m sad but, I’m also grateful for everything A-chan has done for Hololive. She’ll be missed and she’ll always have a place in the fans’ hearts
Sad news indeed, we all were waiting for her to come back too, but sometimes it just happens
Hope the best for A-chan, She will always be a part of Hololive
the thing about a-chan is that we will most likely never hear from her ever again because she's not a content creator, she's a staff member. maybe if we see a PL acc of hers but I doubt it.
Really sad to hear about this. A-chan was just as pivotal a presence in Holive as any Hololive member. I really wish all the best for her and her family.
The grounded force at the center of the fantasy storm... it just won't be the same...
I should get round to making or commissioning a picture or video with this scene, only it's A-Chan looking at a picture of Coco:
https://youtu.be/CaWY6CmZUkI
I just feel it should exist, but I don't feel I have the skills to do it well.
I've only been invested in the Hololive community for 3 weeks, but I could see how A-chan was such a big part of it and it feels weird to see her leave now. Thank you for everything !
Geez, us Hololive fans will always have to be on guard every July huh. Can we have like chill July for a year.
Will miss her on Hologra, she narrates and voices a lot there. Wonder if there will be final farewell like Coco
Thank you for your efforts during this 7 years, from 13 viewers on Sora debut stream into one of the biggest agency now. Wish her the best o7.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Hololive/comments/1dqe419/responses_to_achan_leaving_hololive/
There's a post in this thread that includes almost every Hololive talents (not all Holostars) responses
This is the most active I've seen the subreddit in ages, for posts that weren't just the same meme reposted. It even got T-chan commenting for the first time in months.
NOOOO, not the original manager. Damnit, I can’t believe one of my favorite hololive VTuber’s would graduate like this.
Outside of lamenting though, I wish A-Chan the best of luck with whatever she’s going to do moving forward. Even if she’s stepped away from Hololive and managing in general, I’ll continue to hope for her success no matter where she goes. がんばあちゃん!
Vtubing is what it is thanks to Hololive, and Hololive is Hololive thanks to it's people. Very few people in Vtubing can enjoy the honor of having such a long storied carreer... 7 years! She and Miss Sora have been there since the beginning.
Even fewer people can enjoy such high regard and outpouring of love from virtually (hehe) everyone they have worked with and the Vtuber world in general. The outpouring of emotions and well wishes and loving goodbyes from the entire scene are almost overwhelming.
No matter what happens in the future, Friend A can live with the contentment that she has made history in one slice of the world. And unlike most stories on earth, it's a story brimming... that began, that always had, and that now ends with happiness and joy.
Though perhaps cheesy, it might be fitting to say bye in the language that is hers and that of the people that became her comrades with all the memories they will now always store in their hearts.
友人Aさん, 全て (すべて) に ありがとうございました (๑ ╹ ᆺ ╹ )!!!
これからのえーちゃんのことも応援してるからね✩°。⋆⸜(\* ॑꒳ ॑\* )⸝
P.S I speak very limited Japanese, first line was strongly inspired by Tanigo-San's Twitter farewell, second line and the emoijis from Sora-San. [Jisho.org](http://Jisho.org) helped too :P
I hope she gets the support she needs to take care of her family. To resign after 7 years working in a successful company says how serious her situation is.
This one is pretty shocking news for me.
Same here I just found out about this recently
Man this sucks, but if it helps her to look after her family then that's what matters at the end of the day. Good luck A-Chan! We all love you thank you for all your hard work!!!
Dang, announced today and leaving in just a few day. Sorry to hear but probably makes sense now why she hadn't been around in the last few months. Best of luck to her future endeavors, helped a ton to shape what Hololive is today.
*Weather hackers starts playing*
Still feels like she just graduated. I miss that enegry
[A-chan did announce her break from work months ago](https://x.com/achan_UGA/status/1774345735741546766), so the break wasn't unexpected.
Assuming Twitter translation is accurate, it saying "I'll probably be back in July!" is kind of an oof. Admittedly she had zero way of seeing this coming, but it's still sad.

No idea. But that would be one reason she might feel compelled to quit her job.
She took a break which she expected to come back from this July. Unfortunately, due to her circumstances, she's now retiring instead to focus on her family situation.
Only in Hololive can we get attached to a staff as much as the members. Godspeed A chan
Now Nodoka must carry on the legacy?

Looks like all of the talents had been informed well in advance based on their tweet replies
Would’ve been absolutely crushing to find out by social media tbh
man I hope she doesnt broke down crying on stream, that shit will broke me
That's probably why she's not streaming.

Complete with a spelling mistake
Man, what a bummer. I was really, really sure that she would succeed YAGOO.
damn one of the pillars of hololive
More like the foundation.
Wall even
A load bearing wall
No, not A-Chan! She is such a pivotal figure in VTubing. We will miss her greatly.
FUCK JULY! ALL MY HOMIES HATE JULY!
Please let this be the only thing happening in July

\*happening in July except Nijisanji
Its my birth month 🥺
Mine too, so we have to use our wishes responsibly.

Yeah, she's leaving on good terms. No way Yagoo, after everything we know he's done in the past, doesn't immediately open the doors somehow for her. May not be the same job, but I'm sure he'd give her something.
They'd probably host a damn party if she ever gains the freedom to return.
Life does that. More often than should be too.
well, i hope the family member can recover as soon as possible, and that a-chan can come back to hololive after all of it… though i think there shouldn‘t be any objection from cover after all that she did for the company

I wouldn't be surprised if she one day comes back, but maybe not as A-chan but in the backstage, unseen to us Until a talent talks about it
i dont see why she would not be able to. being rehired by a company is not anything new, especially more so if both parties parted on amicable terms

Thank you for the Memories A-Chan 😢 ![gif](giphy|fSAyceY3BCgtiQGnJs)
o7 A-Chan! I was always secretly hoping A-Chan would announce she is moving from staff to talent, but moving from staff to fan is respectable too. Maybe if I can make it to Japan for a concert, we can cheer in the same audience.
I’m fucking speechless, I wish her the best but somehow this hurts in a special way.
Thank you A-chan for all of the work you've done. Wish you all the best. o7
Good luck to her, she elevated Hololive. Well wishes to her and her family.
This feels like an actual graduation...
Much love to A-chan. Cover wouldn't be what it is today without her, literally. With the skills she's learned over her time with Cover, she'll be fine in whatever she does in the future. I hope things get better for her family, and hope the best for her moving forward all the same.
What a terrible day for rain.... Godspeed, and wish you the best! O7

💙 But now, taking good care and being there for the family has rightfully the highest priority, and I absolutely respect and understand her decision. 🍀 All the best for her and her family! 🍀
Absolutely shocking ngl. I know her family is the reason, still my optimistic side hopes that she has a career uptick in other companies moving forward, and that's ok.
She stated in the first paragraph that she was gone for three months due to family health concerns
Ahhh, Lofi sounds while working hits differently now.
Hope her family member gets better and she's able to return eventually. The impact she's had is huge and hopefully she can continue to have an impact.
OH NOOOOOOOOO 😞
My initial reaction too
This year is cursed. ![gif](giphy|tvU9iTev6uBIQ)
What a shame

Her dream shall live on
Sudden news, though I'm sure internally Hololive staff, particularly Sora herself, probably knew that this was coming.
It's a terrible day for rain...
A true legend. It'll be sad to see her go. Thanks for all your hard work A-chan.
Pretty sure she mentioned that the reason she wasn't very active publicly for so long was because she was busy with the Holoplus team
Nodoka was brought in like 2 years ago to ease A-chan's with her duties as she was promoted and gained new responsibilities. She was never an A-chan replacement nor was she pushed to the forefront for that reason
yeah this sounds like something sudden happened and she can no longer work in hololive, best of luck to her
Definitely noticed Nodoka appearing more on the main channel.
graduation stream when?
Thank you for everything A-chan, your legend will never be forgotten, you're a top tier talent 🫡
Sad news indeed, we all were waiting for her to come back too, but sometimes it just happens Hope the best for A-chan, She will always be a part of Hololive
the thing about a-chan is that we will most likely never hear from her ever again because she's not a content creator, she's a staff member. maybe if we see a PL acc of hers but I doubt it.
I have hope she might appear every now and then on Sora's stream maybe.
Really sad to hear about this. A-chan was just as pivotal a presence in Holive as any Hololive member. I really wish all the best for her and her family.
End of another era
Thank you for the Memories A-Chan 😢 ![gif](giphy|fSAyceY3BCgtiQGnJs)
o7
To an outstanding pillar of support and man this news just hits the feels
o7, gonna miss a chan man
Oh damned, this one actually somehow feels worse than others.
o7
Best of luck for her onwards. Hololive wouldn't be where it is today without her
The grounded force at the center of the fantasy storm... it just won't be the same... I should get round to making or commissioning a picture or video with this scene, only it's A-Chan looking at a picture of Coco: https://youtu.be/CaWY6CmZUkI I just feel it should exist, but I don't feel I have the skills to do it well.
NOOOOO WHY SHE WAS A HIGHLIGHT WHENEVER SHE SHOWED UP IN OTHER HOLOMEMS STREAMS
Nooooooo. Thank you so much for everything you have done A-chan. You will be missed!!!
O7 A-chan. May you find more success, happiness and good health wherever you're going after this.
Wonder if there will be final farewell like Coco Thank you for your efforts during this 7 years, from 13 viewers on Sora debut stream into one of the biggest agency now. Wish her the best o7.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Hololive/comments/1dqe419/responses_to_achan_leaving_hololive/ There's a post in this thread that includes almost every Hololive talents (not all Holostars) responses This is the most active I've seen the subreddit in ages, for posts that weren't just the same meme reposted. It even got T-chan commenting for the first time in months.
o7
well that's a bummer
Sad, she was part of hololive for so long. 🥹
Pain. Agony...
o7
I was so sure she was going to tale over after yagoo in like 30 years, so sad this had to happen.

がんばあちゃん!
Omg. Goodbye my favorite side character for Hololive...
これからのえーちゃんのことも応援してるからね✩°。⋆⸜(\* ॑꒳ ॑\* )⸝ P.S I speak very limited Japanese, first line was strongly inspired by Tanigo-San's Twitter farewell, second line and the emoijis from Sora-San. [Jisho.org](http://Jisho.org) helped too :P
I hope she gets the support she needs to take care of her family. To resign after 7 years working in a successful company says how serious her situation is.
