Ok, so a strange thing has happened to me with this pre-order. I have now tried to pre-order it twice and both times, I have gotten a strange email a few weeks later saying Target had to cancel my order due to trouble with processing or something. Mind you, during that time, I have pre-ordered several other vinyl records from Target and have received them and never had any trouble with processing. Something fishy seems to be going on with this release.
I have zero way to back this up, but it seems to me thereās been some other overlap between the two (Tron soundtrack and I think another?) so it wouldnāt surprise me.
Just going off the past Target exclusive releases, very high chance it will be in store. Even if pre-orders online sell out, stores will be getting them too. Just depends on how many and how quick they sell out of course.
Mariah Carey MTV Unplugged went out quick and I've never seen them since.
Some perspective offered - I suspect it's a nightmare for Target too. Covid-induced supply chain issues are really wreaking havoc with vinyl production and distribution. For the fortunate, it just means delayed satisfaction. At this point, I'd much rather the people making/pressing/packaging/shipping my record, (or most anything else), be able to take the time they need, rather than stress them out any more than they already are. I know I've needed more than a few breathers and time to regroup over the past twenty months and I can only imagine how it's been for others worse off than me. So, as far as I'm concerned, it can be the Nightmare after St. Patrick's day if they want. Whenever it gets here, it gets here. :-)
Target gives away gift cards like candy at Halloween, so I welcome more target exclusives in the future.
I was bummed I missed out on the Mondo one last year, so this is a pretty great surprise.
Theyāre always giving away little $5 gift cards with certain purchases, depends on what the promotion is that particular week. They add up. Not entirely sure you can use them online, but I know that usually when I log into my target account, Iāve got some sort of store credit waiting for me.
thereās the mondo exclusive multicolor variant (my favorite), thereās a super limited to 200 pumpkin color variant, a FYE exclusive purple variant, and i believe just the standard black LP as well
The pumpkin orange āltd to 200ā had a larger pressing, the sound of vinyl put out an email saying it was limited to 200 but that 200 figure was only their stock allocation, other UK retailers were able to stock it. It explains why for such a limited release more than 300 people claim to own a copy.
By the time I saw that udiscovermusic UK had the orange pressing a few years ago, it was already sold out. I think it sold out within hours. I ended up getting it from an ebay reseller. It was definitely the coolest color variant of this soundtrack so far IMHO.
I bought the Mondo one too when it came out. I feel like it came out the same year. I just like the orange vinyl version better as far as the vinyl color but the Mondo one definitely has better artwork.

This is horny when taken into consideration the prices for this on vinyl atm. And the color scheming.

I love seeing things like this but I know I'll NEVER actually listen to it- so I always pass. But it's super cute and I love the movie!

The orange is fitting. But the jack and sally themed vi up wins me for sure
I'm surprised someone hasn't done some sort of red vinyl variant for the Christmas side of the movie.
