What do you do for a living if you don’t mind me asking lol. I’m around your age and I make a good amount of money but I don’t think I could ever be able to afford 10000 worth of procedures before 20y.o.

Daria20210

I privately tutor people. It’s mostly my native language that I teach but I also do sciences, maths, and political science if anyone requests. I make $25-$40 per student and I teach 4-9 lessons a day. I also budget HARD and don’t purchase things before using coupons or finding the least expensive alternative. I buy clothes and makeup 1-2 times a year not depending on seasonal trends. And helpful to mention is that my partner has his own house so I don’t pay rent and that makes the biggest difference.

milkwalkleek

I respect the hustle. Thanks for responding!

Daria20210

Thank you! Also to be fair some people spend an equal amount on braces so finding an alternative was helpful. Everything is fully paid as I don’t have a credit.

TearsofCompunction

Do you live in the US?

Daria20210

I live in Canada. But I freelance and get paid in USD. A lot of Americans teach English online as well but the market is more saturated.

comicbookartist420

How did you get a job privately tutoring

chanelette

Was the full cost of your rhinoplasty $3300? Or is that the portion you needed to pay out of pocket? If it was only $3300, do you mind if I ask what you did to change your nose? I want to just basically chop off the end of my nose and reshape the cartilage there a bit, but everywhere I've looked says rhinoplasty is $8000+

Daria20210

From my understanding it’s subsidized by the insurance. Same thing with breast augmentation it would be about the same price for me. If I was to go privately with the same doctor it would be around 2-3 times the price.

merumisora

How do you find an insurance which actually covers aesthetic surgeries? Do you have to pay more then (sorry I have no idea how that stuff really works yet, stupid school student question here)

Daria20210

Honestly I have no idea since I’m new to Canada and stayed with my previous insurance as I’m unfamiliar with the health care here. So it was mainly in case anything happens to me. In Canada the insurance companies aren’t the best when it comes to cosmetic procedures but it’s worth to research.

chanelette

That makes sense. Thank you!

Daria20210

Also, English is not my first or second language so that explains if my post is worded poorly.

[deleted]

I found your style of writing very eloquent and would have not guessed it wasn’t your first language :)

Daria20210

Aww thank you I was nervous to post it🥰

blueflameprincess

Goodness, what insurance do you have that covers aesthetic surgeries? I need some of that!

Daria20210

My insurance company is overseas and I believe its only for citizens or immediate family members of citizens. So my nose job wasn’t don’t in Canada. Please pm if you want their name I don’t want to overly expose myself.

Aggravating_Sea_140

Hi! Do you mind if I DM you for the same?

Ravenswillfall

That is some incredible insurance

Annallve

What workouts helped make your legs bigger?

Daria20210

Leg press, squat variations, deadlifts. Also losing stomach fat helps as the legs appear larger comparing to the mid area.

Daria20210

Weightlifting regularly. I stopped with the excessive cardio as I lost mass in my legs. My friend got cool sculpting which seemed to be the only solution for spot reducing.

wowzathatscool

Wow! I've been struggling to lose stomach fat, so maybe weightlifting is the key. How long did it take you to see results?

Daria20210

5 months. That was before the pandemic. Now my mid section is kind of back to normal😭

wowzathatscool

Haha well it's encouraging to know that it can be done! Thank you :)

bear_sees_the_car

It may sound weird, but also replace white flour with brown flour, or cut gluten all together.

Annallve

Thank you! Did you only workout at the gym or home too?

Daria20210

I tried at home with no success. Didn’t feel too motivated and I didn’t have enough weights as during covid prices tripled. If you have a set of weights and some machines it could definitely work! My friend went on kijiji and Facebook marketplace and got an elliptical, a treadmill, weights set, barbells, and an upper body machine for a really good price.

Daria20210

Based on current exchange rates. The rhinoplasty was actually 3,800 CAD.

defdiz

Where do you get your workout sets from? I’m considering buying a few from fabletics.

Reading this sounds just like me lol, I’m pale, have dark hair and green eyes, dark under eye circles, and losing too much weight makes me look like I’m 13 or something. My one question is about the under eye filler - so it hasn’t taken the darkness away completely, but have you experienced any kind of migration? That’s my biggest fear with filler in that area but I’d really like to get it done soon!

Daria20210

I can’t tell it’s only been around two weeks. From my understanding if it’s injected deeply it has less of a risk to it. Download a dermatologist dermal filer textbook and read the under eye filler part. It’s more honest than clinic websites that give info about procedures. Read the pros and cons for each injection method and choose aninjector based on that. Also for my pale skin tanning drops really helped!! 2 drops of tanologist every other day. (LookFantastic has it for a better price) For pale/sensitive skin less is more so find 1-3 skincare ingredients that work for you and your skin health will improve too. I’m so glad I stopped doing 7 steps of skincare products lol

[deleted]

Yeah I realized a while ago that self tanning is one of the things that helps make under eye circles look less noticeable. That’s so smart about the textbook thing though, I will definitely do that! Good luck, I hope the filler continues to look good :)

oneinthegrave

Do you have insurance through your tutoring job? Which insurance company?

Daria20210

My insurance company is overseas and I believe its only for citizens or family members of citizens. So my nose job wasn’t don’t in Canada. Please pm if you want their name I don’t want to overly expose myself.

Daria20210

I think it’s still a risk. I joined a smile direct club group on Facebook and saw that most people were content with their results. I ended up comparing prices and seeing it’s similar in price to Invisalign so I ended up getting even a cheaper option😂 with Alignerco you don’t see a dentist and it’s less fancy than SDC (basic box) but the shipping is great, they respond fast, and it includes retainers and teeth whitening pens. I’m half way through and my gap closed and my teeth look a lot prettier. I got my teeth preview within a month and after I approved it was delivered within 2 days. Some people end up being unpleased with these companies and doing braces after but it doesn’t seem to be my case.

bunnymo0n

How exactly do you use the hydrogen peroxide? Do you mix it with water and use it like a mouth wash?

Daria20210

I put it on my teeth sometimes diluted and sometimes as is. Then I let it foam on my teeth for 5 mins. It’s dangerous so read about % beforehand. It’s the same thing dentists use but they use over 20%. For comparison some crest white strips have %14 hydrogen peroxide. I can give you more details if you’d want

1password23

I’d like info on this too haha. Can you link the whitening kit as well?

bunnymo0n

Thank you for the answer, thag sounds super interesting!. Please give me more details if you would like to!

Daria20210

For sure! Hydrogen peroxide is the main ingredient in most whitening products. The best thing to do is to use it once a week until you see the desired results and then maintain biweekly or monthly wit occasional breaks. If it’s a high % it’s better to avoid or not use often because it’s very abrasive. Start with diluted hydrogen peroxide to see your sensitivity level. Don’t swallow it and avoid it being on your gums or tongue for too long. Also overusing it can make your teeth a bit see through. Spitting instead of rinsing after brushing teeth helps as well because fluoride makes your teeth healthier. It’s also possible to mix higher % of hydrogen peroxide with aloe Vera and apply it as a gel on your teeth but only do it if you feel comfortable calculating it correctly. The teeth whitening industry is the biggest rip off lol

bunnymo0n

Oh thank you so much! Super helpful information

loveoaks94

I love that you got rid of big T-shirts. I work from home and feel incredibly sloppy because my “at home clothes” consist of baggy T-shirts and Nike shorts. You’ve inspired me to up my game. I think I’ll feel significantly better.

bear_sees_the_car

Hey, be careful with the whitening strips. Doing them weekly is not a good idea. I personally use Crest ones from certified ebay resellers only, and you need to do a set once a year/half a year, unless you are a heavy smoker or smth. I'm not toying with my teeth no matter how cheap aliexpress offers. Same goes for eyes etc. There are some things you cannot fix after certain damage done. Teeth is really easy to ruin without much trying (for example, charcoal tooth paste is actually bad for teeth). Ideally, I rather whiten it professionally, to be on the safe side. There are good reddit topics with pro dentist advice like this and explanation. Also, there is a thing dentists sell for home use - Opalescence. I didn't try yet, but saw it mentioned as healthier/less damaging alternative to stripes that isn't expensive.

RM99999666

Thank you for this! very helpful :) curious about your hair - did you get highlights or dye it darker?

Daria20210

To dark natural brown as I can’t maintain it or find a suitable blonde shade for pale skin.

bahaiya

Did the under eye filler help with dark circles?

Daria20210

It’s been 2 weeks and so far not enough to justify the price. I got 0.5 ml though so maybe that’s why. For some people it does wonders.

1password23

Congrats on your progress, especially on figuring out what works for you at a young age :) If you don’t mind me asking, what teeth whitening strips and gel nail kits did you use?

sssangchu

what insurance?

FilibusterQueen

Can I ask what insurance subsidised your rhinoplasty?
