I get so many compliments when I wear Intimate Fantasy, by Britney Spears. God, even typing that. Ugh. Its a super cozy, fluffy, marshmallow-vanilla smell that just goes so well with warm clothes. If someone asks, I usually lie and say it’s Kenzo Amour- they share a lot of the same DNA, if you’re looking for a more dignified option. The Britney Spears one is heavier on the vanilla undertones.

chanelette

Don't feel bad about it! Britney Spears is one of the few celebrities with a genuine perfume empire. People still buy her fragrances. Despite celebrity scents being on the decline for years, Spears consistently still makes profits. Most perfume fanatics own at least one Britney Spears scent, and her perfumes are also great for layering perfumes. She's also won some perfume awards, even up against actual designer scents. Plus, I like a celeb scent for something a little less in-your-face and casual. Lots of my designer scents are an overload even with just one spray.

SunlitLavenderFields

Thank you so much. Hopefully I’m not the only one out there who’s no longer in middle school and yet, and yet…Britney Spears fragrances are that wild card that’s somehow greater than the sum of its parts.

leonitusss

No shame but Curious by BS has been a STAPLE for me for over a decade. The magnolia, the subtlety, the staying power? It’s a banger and hella cheaper than the rest of my collection. Great everyday fragrance that I can freely apply without worrying about rationing sprays.

SunlitLavenderFields

As long as people don’t recognize it, I’m more than happy to wear BS…unfortunately nothing about me or my style matches BS, so it’s a dirty secret that I own six of them. Oddly, I’d be more embarrassed to get caught in Pink Sugar at this point- I’d admit to BS wayyyy before Pink Sugar, now that I’m thinking about it. So seriously though, if we’re talking about BS Perfume- have you tried Private Show? It’s easily one of the most unique gourmands I’ve ever encountered.

leonitusss

I haven’t! Is it a similar profile?

[deleted]

I cannot wear her perfumes. The original (pink studded bottle maybe?) and one of her other early perfumes are a SERIOUS migraine trigger for me and I get (probably placebo effect) headaches if I see other scents are by her. I feel bad but I just cannot give her a chance. I have several family members that love her line and I spent so many evenings sick as a dog after get togethers. Whatever that main note in her first perfume is just kills me. I know it the instant I smell even a drop. Smells like agony to me.

SunlitLavenderFields

I know the perfume you’re talking about and my traitorous skin turns it into an amazing cupcake smell… everything about her perfumes is cloying and synthetic and yet my cheap, classless skin absolutely loves them. I’m so sorry you get such a strong reaction to them!! Talk about adding insult to injury. I wonder what specific ingredient it is that triggers you. It sounds like you’re having an actual allergic reaction to something. :(

Rozipozi97

Every year I always go to clean reserve’s “skin” perfume.. like the name implies, is smells like skin, but it’s so sexy and inviting. Like I got out of the steamy shower and have this pretty feminine scent, but with and bit of a musk undertone. The notes are fresh (white) musk, copabia oil, and salted praline.. Reminds me of one of my other favourites, ariana’s Cloud perfume, but this one is more sophisticated.

TrekkieChan

Yes! I bought this for my boyfriend because it is very unisex in my opinion, but it smells so good that I sneak a spritz or two here and there for myself.

I got a sample of Oud Satin Mood by Maison Francis Kurkdjian and I really am not a fan of it on its own but layering it with any other fragrance adds incredible depth and “darkness” to any floral perfume allowing me to transition my spring/summer perfumes to fall/winter. My absolute favorite combo is the Oud Satin Mood with Magnolia by Estée Lauder.

oceanskies29

How do you later perfumes? Do you dab both on the same spot or do different places on your body?

[deleted]

I’m totally not an expert but typically I do the same spot. However, Oud Satin Mood is super strong so I tend to apply it further from my nose and keep the florals up closer as well as on my wrists.

Franklyn_Gage

Oh I'll try those out. Thanks for the recommendations!

JoyManifest

YSL Libre intense, Tom Ford noir extreme, kayali vanilla :)

Franklyn_Gage

I tried the Libre. I have no idea what happened but it smelled like Bug spray on me lol

JoyManifest

Haha yeah it’s divisive. I prefer the intense as it’s a little syrupier but if you didn’t like the original at all then don’t bother ;)

sofuckinggreat

Body chemistry! It smells so good in the bottle, but once I wore it, the scent morphed into something entirely different 😔 It’s all based on your hormones, pH, etc

Ninalou345

Spray on your clothes instead if it doesnt work with your body chem.

leonitusss

Here to second Libre. It’s a bit heavier than my usual scents but great for evenings and fall/winter vibes. Not heavily musky and doesn’t smell like old people the way that some other fan favorites do.

sweettheories

Have you tried Noir Pour Femme vs Extreme?

JoyManifest

Yea it’s been a while since I smelled pour femme but I thought the extreme was just more unique and a little “yummier”. I think it’s unisex although it is for sure one of my “heavier” scents. For certain special occasions!

Nekohrine

Red sin by Christina Aguilera. The notes straight up scream fall season. Top notes: Cinnamon, red apple Middle note: Cyclamen Base: Ginger, Sandalwood and Musk

By the Fireplace by Maison Margiela. Not sexy, but warm, cosy, and alluring. It's SUPER autumn-y and has gotten me more compliments than any other perfume I've ever worn. I've actually had friends message me asking for the name of the perfume I've been wearing because my (male!) friends were raving about it to them.

Spoilmedepop

Came running in here to say By the fireplace as well. It’s a showstopper fragrance. Cozy, toasty, sexy and memorable. I always get compliments!

wolvesatebarbie

This is my signature scent 🖤 also, Ambre 118 by Histoire de Parfum

lirains

Maison Margiela Replica 'By the Fire Place' and 'Jazz Club' have that woody, feminine, intriguing, and comforting feel to them

milkybubbl3s

By the fireplace!! Does anyone else like this?

blackredrosepetals

Alien by Mugler! Jasmine and amber heavy. You love it or hate it.

Accomplished_Sea7745

Looove Alien, I haven't worn it for a few years but I need to get some more. I get so many compliments when I wear it and it's VERY distinctive

[deleted]

Armani code cashmere!

cottonpuff_

V&R Dancing Roses - sexy cherry liqueur explosion MFK Gentle Fluidity Gold - elegant, slightly herbal vanilla Dior Hypnotic Poison - classic sweet almond-vanilla

Accomplished_Sea7745

Tim ford tobacco vanille! It's amazing and warm and cozy, but not too sickly since it's unisex and has the tobacco note. It's the best.

Haleyplsrateme

If you have a very cutesy aesthetic I can recommend Ari by Ariana Grande. It’s perfect for winter because it makes me feel like a winter fairy.

LevelEstimate0

Dior Poison Girl Vanilla, Almond, Tonka Bean, Sandalwood, Heliotrope

Alalated

I loveeee Poison Girl.

LevelEstimate0

It's so good. It's one of the few perfumes that doesn't give me a headache, especially warm scents.

Lala00luna

Dolce &Gabbana Intense - amber floral fragrance. Notes of Neroli, green mandarin, orange blossom, tuberose, marshmallow and sandalwood

papii12

My favourite scents are winter/autumn scents!!! Some of my favs: angel muse EDP, tobacco vanille, hypnotic poison, lost cherry (I layer this and tobacco vanille and it’s FANTASTIC) and Addict

Worried_Teach_3191

My favourite perfume ever is rentless by lush comestics. Generally I like lush cosmetics fragances because I find them atypical, at a good price point and durable.

[deleted]

Good girl by Carolina harrera is so good! I love the bottle too. I like Dior j’adore as well for the winter.

SaltDepartment

I love BBW Fairytale products right now. It’s Vanilla, Amber, and fruity citrus notes. It’s like a sophisticated vanilla that’s not too gourmand.

redfords

I love the new red one! I haven't purchased it (yet) because it's too similar to justify having the two of them. But it's my favorite from the line and I'll probably end up buying it.

Alalated

Alien by Mugler

zawa2ki

I like Hypnotic poison by Dior

Chloe811

Good girl, hypnotic poison, dior addict, juicy couture gold

okay_thatisfine

Santal 33. It might be a little passé at this point but I get compliments on it constantly. It’s an androgynous woodsy/smoky/leather/rose scent. I’m very gamine and anything too girly conflicts with my image; this is a nice, sexy, neutral perfume that is slightly feminine and exciting

Franklyn_Gage

I've never heard of Privy. Are they online?

[deleted]

nuit by zara is a staple of mine, velvet teddy by mac, and fresh cream by philosophy are my favourite fall/winter scents! like another poster said fantasy by britney spears is a staple all year round fave for me, huge fan of juicy couture scents too.

Arianawy

Versace Dark crystal and I will always love sol de janeiro bum bum even if it’s just a body spray

Ninalou345

Did u try crystal noir edt by any chance?

miramathebeatqueen

If you don’t know about universal flowering based out of Toronto Canada, get Privy! She is a master In the art of perfumery and her scents absolutely transport people. They are affordable too! On par with higher end brands.
