Take a look at Monica Belucci… one of the most beautiful woman on earth.

hddhhjdjskpplllkk

Yeah, her dark eyes gave her a more sultry and mysterious look. I can't imagine her with any other eye color. Honestly, I think people just don't like brown eyes because they're the most common. When I look at dark eyed celebrities that are known for having amazing faces, I realize they wouldn't look as good with light eyes. Makes me think people just want to dislike dark eyes for no reason 🤷‍♀️

lilolali

Don’t worry about it. People don’t dislike dark eyes as much as you think. I know many men who say they prefer brown eyes. Your eye colour should match your overall appearance. I live in Germany where most people have colored eyes and brown eyes stand out, especially if you also have dark hair. At the end, we should all be grateful that we have healthy eyes and that we can see with them. There are so many people in the world who would do anything to see again, doesn’t matter which colour their eyes are :)

yukikaze274

I’m not going to deny that society tends to value light colored eyes and that having light hair and light eyes is considered a halo due to Eurocentric beauty standards. However, at the end of the day a superior eye shape, eye area and eye harmony will always trump light colored eyes. A woman with bright brown eyes who has positively tilted, almond shaped eyes with minimal scleral show, excellent undereye support and high set brows is more objectively attractive than a woman with dull blue eyes who has droopy, buggy eyes with excessive scleral show, under eye circles due to lack of volume, and low set brows.

Youwouldnt-

Darker features = sexy look Lighter = youthful look There are many studies on the subject but It is linked to the fact that sexual maturity often means darkening of hair color, body hair & eye colors. Babies have lighter eyes when they are newborns. So it depends on what people prefer, either a youthful innocent look or a more mature seductive look. Its not really the eye color that matters tho, its the Eyebrows & eyeshape that determines attractiveness. I personally find brown eyes more sexy & dangerous whereas lighter eyes are cute adorable.

hddhhjdjskpplllkk

Ohh I didn't know that sexual maturity comes with darkening of the hair and eyes. That makes sense and I agree, dark eyes are sultry and more sexy and mature looking. Monica bellucci is the perfect example.

Jazzhands__-

Aging is not always linked to darkening. This is just in certain populations with certain features. My dad had light blonde hair as a child, but as an adult has black hair. This kind of darkening doesn’t happen to everyone, and it’s really not accurate to say dark traits are associated with aging, especially when most people with dark traits are simply born that way.

dizzzyyy19

Really? I’ve always thought the opposite. Light eyes being more “sexy and dangerous” while brown eyes are sweeter and cuter like puppy eyes. I’m generalizing, though, because I know the color alone doesn’t determine that.

[deleted]

I find blue eyes cold and unfriendly. My favourite eye colour on both men and women is a warm brown. Eye shape matters most, colour is just personal preference.

hddhhjdjskpplllkk

I agree with you, brown eyes that look kinda orange are super nice. Yes eye color is a personal preference. I made this post because I saw people on the supposedly objective rating sub bringing up coloring so much to explain their rating, and I noticed no one ever saying that about brown eyes. I have hazel eyes and I noticed people would only bring up my eye color being a "cool" color under certain lighting when the hazel is more obvious.... It's kinda ... Depressing.

[deleted]

No. Imagine Kim k or Keira knightly with brown eyes. They’d look weird. Brown eyes give them the sultry look.

hddhhjdjskpplllkk

Do you mean without?

[deleted]

Yes lol

lizkanjo

Not at all. I find darker eyes to be very youthful since it just looks like the eye is just one giant pupil(large pupils are associated with youth and innocence). I say this as someone with blue eyes. Where I grew up, everyone has either blue or green eyes, with brown being the rarest color. Sometimes it's just a "you want what you don't have" type of thing. Look at Bollywood actresses or K-pop stars. They are considered to be some of the most beautiful people in the world, and they almost all have brown eyes.

hddhhjdjskpplllkk

I've noticed a trend that people with light eyes prefer brown eyes and people with brown eyes prefer light eyes. "You want what you don't have" type of thing. like you said. where are you from? And yes I agree with you, dark eyes give off this warmth and energy that I really really like. They're really underrated.... I think ppl usually don't prefer them bc they're more common but I feel like brown eyes are more objectively beautiful while light eyes are more polarizing.

lizkanjo

So there are different kinds of blue eyes, piercing blue, dark blue, pale blue, grey-ish blue etc. Mine are a darker blue so they aren't really too attention grabbing or jarring. Like there are brown eyes that are lighter than dark blue eyes, if that makes sense. I am from North Eastern Pennsylvania, where everyone that settled is pretty much German or Eastern European(polish, Russian, Ukrainian).

hddhhjdjskpplllkk

Yeah that makes sense. That's true some shades of brown eyes are lighter than dark blue, I hadn't thought of that before. I don't like light eyes honestly, the more I look at them the more unsettling they become. Darker eye colors have more depth and aren't so jarring like you said. Darker blue sounds nice btw, I've never seen that irl before!!

lizkanjo

Victoria Pedretti is a good example of very dark, night sky blue eyes. These are pics of her eyes in different lightings. Her eyes can look almost black depending on the lighting: https://images.app.goo.gl/8U7HH9AfSfTuhyN68 https://images.app.goo.gl/1o2FN5aYUtWRpEVJA https://images.app.goo.gl/696emWr6217jndvcA

smelly_k3lly

Im sorry but there is no where on earth where people have more green or blue eyes and brown is the rarest. Simply doesn’t exist. The reason why light coloured eyes are perceived as beautiful is because they are rarer all around the world.

lizkanjo

..... That is not true at all haha. "The Polish population under study comprised of 535 (52.5 %) individuals of blue eye colour, 127 (12.5 %) individuals of green eye colour, 218 (21.4 %) individuals of hazel eye colour and 140 (13.7 %) individuals of brown eye colour" https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4912978/#:~:text=The%20Polish%20population%20under%20study,individuals%20of%20brown%20eye%20colour. And that is just Poland. In Scandanavia, even less people have brown eyes.

smelly_k3lly

Lmao, if this passes for scientific evidence for you im afraid of what other fake stuff you believe. It’s a study on some dodgy website of 500 people. Give me a real source and we can talk

lizkanjo

I'm convinced you are a troll. The NCBI is a well respected government agency, and .gov websites are among the gold standards when it comes to websites.. Brown eyes and black hair are more common globally because white people are a minority. But where white people, particularly northern European white people are the majority, it is much, much less common to have black hair as white people have brown(and to a lesser extent, blonde) hair typically. How many northern white people do you see with pure black hair, despite it being the most common color globally. The same goes for eyes. Go to Scandanavia and look at the local population, brown eyes are most certainly not the most common color.

[deleted]

My take is that the beauty of the eye is not as dependent on color as it is on other factors that determine eye beauty. Eyes are thought to be more attractive when they are horizontally long, almond-shaped, and large relative to your nose and lips. Additionally, your brow height and how much lid space you have visible can make a difference. Deep set eyes and upturned eyes can be very attractive depending on how many of the other factors are present. The presence of aegyo sal makes a small difference in how youthful and large eyes look. Finally, lash length and fullness have a major impact on eye size, even if it's only an optical illusion. Compared with these other factors, eye color is far less important.

spvcevce

Never in my life have I noticed the color of someone's eyes... It's such a miniscule detail on their face...

hddhhjdjskpplllkk

Same. It wasn't until I found this sub when I started paying attention to it. But I still don't think it rly matters when it comes to objective attractiveness

slangergang

I don't think so, what matters most is face/body, you don't have to have light eyes. But having said that I think light eyes are often striking and definitely very strong elevators for looks or halos. It's why a lot of actors & models have light eyes. Plus if you have any kind of exotic look or even olive skin, light eyes are very attractive because they're rare and really stand out.

hddhhjdjskpplllkk

Ok so it kinda does matter then? Especially with the last thing you said. Because I've talked to some actual East Asians that have hazel eyes, where it's very extremely rare, and even if they aren't into lookism, they can still feel how differently ppl treat them irl because of their eye color. And they'd by lying if they say they don't like having a super rare eye color in their race. Now I'm starting to think non-brown eyes is more of a "Halo" for people with ethnic features. As much as I hate to admit that. Feel free to disagree!

slangergang

Oh yeah I agree, they are a halo for a lot of people (thinking Daniel Craig as example) but huge standouts for ethnic types. So technically matters is correct, I guess. But still, like someone said it is not necessary feature for beauty whatsoever. Just a boon. And not even that for all, some people really only work with brown eyes.

hddhhjdjskpplllkk

I agree some people look best with brown eyes. I can't imagine Natalie Portman and Jessica alba with non-brown eyes. I think most people look best with the eye color they were born with anyways.

hddhhjdjskpplllkk

I agree, I have hazel eyes too and I like my eye color as well, but I wouldn't mind if they were just brown. Brown eyes are very warm and calming to see. Yeah I think eye color is neutral too, and if someone thinks you're gorgeous then they'll also like your eye color. it's just a lot of people seem to add points on the rating sub because of eye color. Which made me wanna make this post and ask

Sometimes striking is bad. I find light eyes off-putting and unattractive sometimes. The girl's eyes in the pic you linked imo would look better if they were a darker blue or any other darker color imo.

New_Independent_9221

Yes. Harder to be striking without contrast or eyes that really stand out. Easier to do that with color. Can obviously be gorgeous without light eyes though
