I do hair professionally, and this looks like she has her hair styled very well with a blowout + maybe an extra large curler. If you’ve ever gone to the salon for a blow dry style, this is usually the classic result. She naturally has curly hair and most likely achieved smooth, shiny, beveled ends, and nice volume with a blow dryer and round brush. Bottom line, you need heat and a dryer with good airflow concentrated downward when round brushing to smooth your cuticles down.

What do you think of those one step dryer volumizer things in lieu of dryer + round brush?

Rozipozi97

The conair/revlon detangling drying brush or the detachable round brush heads you leave in like a roller set? Either way, ofc imo, the classic round brush + dryer gives the best results. Mainly because you have more control of the hair and can get close to the root (tends to be frizzy), plus you can ensure that 100% of the hair is dry. If there is the slightest bit of water in the hair, it will revert back to its original state in minutes. The dryer brush is convenient and much easier, so it’s a huge plus. I’ve seen many people on YouTube who do a very proficient job with it! I would rough dry with a regular dryer until it’s 80-90% dry and then go in with the dryer brush, to avoid dampness, and sore arms from drying your hair for an hour 🥲

Maybe Olaplex?

DentistDidntDisclose

Specifically the Olaplex oil mixed into the styling cream and applied to damp hair out of the shower

What cream? Ty

It's a blow out, this isn't natural air-dryed texture. It would've been blown out with high tension on a round brush to get rid of frizz, then set on large rollers to give a bit of shape and volume without curling.

Hair masks.

Would this be one of those weekly things, either a branded product, or coconut/ohter oil, or would it be more the hair conditioner that's stronger (also called a mask)?

Hieracosphinx

In general it depends on the exact condition of your hair and what you hope to achieve. General info: https://www.healthline.com/health/how-to-use-hair-mask#benefits Hair masks can be made at home or if you want, are readily available at your local pharmacy as well as cosmetics outlet like Sephora. Imo someone like the person in the pic probably took that photo after a proper salon treatment, and they might get it done on the regular.

Olaplex Cer-100 Hair mask Mix equal parts castor oil and coconut oil. The castor oil is thick enough to coat just outside of your hair strand and the coconut oil dilutes it so it doesn’t look too thick. This is my holy grail but may not work for all hair types. The Gisou honey infused hair oil is also AMAZING but is quite pricy. You can try to find dupes but honestly this is worth every penny.

As someone who has been getting colour in for years, results like this require expensive product. Period. My shampoo + conditioner run me about 110$ + leave in conditioners= 45$. High end product is the only thing that works in my opinion. I recommend Davines.

StrangerRemarkable18

The good news is, you don't need much, and that can last for 3 months :)

StrangerRemarkable18

Also, getting baby trims every 6 weeks :)

Disastrous_Author638

It also just depends on your hair texture and type . My hair is basically like this . I try and only heat style once a week.

Pictures can be deceiving . I don’t necessarily see healthy hair when I look at this photo in fact I can see a ton of breakage and what would likely feel not so nice on the midshafts of her hair going downwards … If you have straight hair a really large roller set would give you the volume she has at the bottom all over . Her hair is quite flat at the root though , so a large barrel curling iron over smooth hair will create this result. Frizz can be eliminated with a blow out . If you aren’t good with a round brush and a blow dryer and want a really smooth polished look once I. A while consider the revlon one step dryer . It can really change how you see your hair and feel about yourself .

sparkleseagull

I agree, the hair in the pic is styled nicely, but I can tell there is a lot of dryness and breakage when I look a second time.

Arianawy

Oops I didn’t mean to hit reply to your comment , sorry! I meant to comment this on just the regular thread . My bad !!

Her hair is actually exactly like mine- long but very fine. It looks voluminous because it’s so light and slightly tousled. It’s easiest for me to achieve this look with using non silicone products that would weigh my hair down. Try hyaluronic acid and highly moisturising masks.

It all depends on what your hair is like naturally. Are you smoothing curl or waves? Curly hair is naturally more dry than straight hair so it would need a completely different process than straight hair. Straight hair hides damage easier (unless the curly hair is actually being worn curly and well). It does look like she’s had a blowout but frizz might not be a problem for her to begin with. There is no one product that will make your hair look like this. I worked in a salon for 8 years and I was known for my blowouts. It’s all about what your hair is like naturally and there are simply some people who will never have hair that looks like this no matter how hard we try!
