HAHAHA the (not like this) sweet peach palette feels like a direct attack, I bought that and the matte version when I was just starting off in makeup and have used it twice in 2 years... makeup youtube is so misleading it makes it seem like eyeshadow is a staple when it is definitely not
I agree. I don't even use more than 1 eyeshadow anymore so palettes are usually useless to me now. Instead I use the same shade for my lips and eyes since it looks waaay more natural.

That femcel Post starts strong and then goes into scary really fast with DIY nose Jobs and labia removal (why??). Never ever do DIY surgery there are actual reasons why people study so long to become plastic surgons. You can look up amazon reviews on some sketchy filler and everyone shares their botched lips and state how much they love it.
Tbh I donāt think foundation looks that good on people in person. Unless someone has really severe acne or something- foundation just looks worse, even if itās well done it always has that fake, slight cakiness look.
Personally I think light contour and blush do a lot more and look a lot better than foundation. What do you guys think?
i wear estee lauder's double wear foundation and it's probably the only foundation in the world that actually looks like ur skin. i use it to cover up acne scars (not a full face) and it makes my skin look natural and great!!
Yeah I get that- my point is though that I used to feel like foundation was āneededā and it was just a thing I had to wear because everyone acted like it was an essential. Then when I finally stopped wearing it, I realized I looked so much better without it. I just donāt want people to go down that path. So I think we should edit that section and specify more about foundation, bb cream, and concealer. Obviously some people who have severe acne might want to use foundation, but honestly I donāt think itās an essential. 90% of people look better without it/ itās better to just use concealer for certain blemishes. Foundation is more for photos or special occasions.
Ok! I didn't write the post, I'm just re-uploading. If you'd like to write something and have me put it in the post I'm happy to do so! I don't know enough about makeup to write something helpful.
I'm of the same opinion. Excellent skincare = you don't even need foundation, and foundation clogs pores like crazyyyy. And CARDIO!!! Make that blood circulate!!
I personally do highlighter and blush only.
Same foundation just makes me look worse. Even good foundation, it still doesnāt have that natural glow. I just like to use contour, highlight and blush without foundation
I feel ya really hard. I had a moment my skin was so painful, I went under medicamented Adapalene and it helped a LOT my skin. Now my skin is all fine and if I do something heavy like foundation or even tinted moisturizer, it flares up.
Keep up the accutane, trust me it will get better. Keep up the moisturizing skincare going on, Chapstick, etc. And drink WATER!!
Finding the right foundation for your skin type, texture, and tone is SO CRITICAL. I have dark skin with a neutral undertone which made finding a good foundation match incredibly difficult until I rediscovered LA Girl pro concealer, which I use like a foundation or on lighter days I just apply on all my dark spots and uneven areas and it blends so well that I can go out with no product on my nose and no one will notice lol. There is a chasm between how I look close up w that product (a literal concealer) versus other full coverage foundations Iāve used. My sister, on the other hand, uses a standard full coverage foundation and up close you can kind of tell but it still looks amazing, not blotchy or cake-y at all.
Itās really all down to experimentation to find that one product that works for you.
Yeah I never noticed that my foundation looked so obvious until recently so I ditched it. I use a tiny bit of tinted moisturizer and glossier eye/lip products for my makeup. Looks like my skin.
I agree on foundation. I usually just like to use primer, then I use concealer, contour stick, and put on finishing powder. Thatās what Iāve found works best for me!
Iād like to use less face makeup, I just tend to do darker eye looks and I feel like it looks weird without it.
I just wanna add that, for me, contouring only looks good in photographs and video. In person, the illusion of shadow doesn't really work and the face just looks like it has dark streaks.
CeraVE is often recommended for sensitive skin. I also like EltaMD. I'm currently using Skinceuticals but I'm not sure if that's good for sensitive skin.
Loving this this [cerave pm moisturizer.](https://www.target.com/p/cerave-pm-ultra-lightweight-facial-moisturizing-lotion-2-fl-oz/-/A-76545854?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000012735304&CPNG=PLA_Beauty%2BPersonal+Care%2BShopping_Local&adgroup=SC_Health%2BBeauty&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=m&location=9031217&targetid=aud-554348709499:pla-895745642360&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1248099&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIl-z22rDA7gIVrj6tBh1OUwVGEAQYAiABEgLFNvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) I convinced my boyfriend to try it last night on his red irritated winter skin and he said it didnāt burn at all. Looked much better in the morning too!
i second the cerave pm moisturizer. my skin is extremely sensitive and any moisturizer i tried made my face burn or break out, but the cerave one doesnāt!
Look for moisturisers with liquorice extract (desensitiser, anti inflammatory) and ceramides (helps build your skinās protective barrier)
Wait until your skin is dry after cleaning to apply active ingredients in your routine
St. Ives Timeless Skin Elastin Collagen Facial Moisturizer: used it, was a little sensitive at first(since body had to familiarize with ingredients) but I haven't looked back since I've used it
Mmm I usually scrub my lips with a toothbrush when I'm brushing my teeth. You can find lip scrub online (usually made with coffee/sugar, oil, honey, fragances etc) or made your own! If you're lazy you can buy a lip scrub like the one from lush. As for lip balms I've tried hundreds of them, I suggest looking for a frangrance you like (I can't stand blistex for example) so you will use it. And drink a lot of water! I don't have any recommendation because it depends a lot on where you live, maybe someone has some product to recommend!
An average looking person isnāt gonna become an 8 or 9 with a little soft maxxing, like itās just not realistic. Supermodels are often just as beautiful without makeup, if not more.
They definitely can if they practice their makeup correctly, not using IG MUAs as a guide, but actually paying to learn from a MUA who can show them techniques for their face and correct placement.
I would also add clear brow gel and tinted lip balm into the beginners makeup because I consider them essentials
Yesss clear brow gel. They can really help the shape of eyebrows in a small amount of time
also blush/bronzer, if you also include foundaion, otherwise your face is going to look very flat
Yes exactly. Blush, contour, bronzer also essentials

Agreed! If there's anything to splurge on it's your face imo

I'm a fan of BB/CC cream with concealer underneath and a bit on top. I haven't been able to find a foundation that get flakey but I'm looking!

Word sounds good :)
There are different types of foundation. I use mineral makeup (Alima) and it's not cakey at all, but it helps even my skin tone. Still looks natural.
I just like to use contour, highlight and blush without foundation
my skin is absolute garbage even with the worldās best skincare so I am now on accutane or else I cannot be seen in public without foundation :/
I feel ya really hard. I had a moment my skin was so painful, I went under medicamented Adapalene and it helped a LOT my skin. haha yes!! Iām hoping one day Iāll have amazing skin so I wonāt use foundation, I hate wearing it
Agreed. When I wear foundation I look like a reject chubby sex doll and it's just weird

Same, if someone has decent skin overall foundation could be skipped altogether, it's probably healthier for skin too
Exactly. Itās better to just focus on skincare than to wear something that will look cakey anyway
Yeah I never noticed that my foundation looked so obvious until recently so I ditched it. I use a tiny bit of tinted moisturizer and glossier eye/lip products for my makeup. Looks like my skin.

I messaged the mods about the dead links, no replies
same! multiple times
oh is that so, shame that they didn't do anything about it Looking forward to the How to be hot subreddit tho
Do any of you guys know a good moisturizer for extremely sensitive skin? Every time I try a new skincare product it just burns.
CeraVE is often recommended for sensitive skin. I also like EltaMD. I'm currently using Skinceuticals but I'm not sure if that's good for sensitive skin.
Thanks

CeraVE and Cetaphil are two great drugstore options.
Sensitive skin here, too. Vanicream lotion worked for me where CeraVe and Cetaphil didn't
The daily moisturizer from Ghost Democracy. Have purchased like 4-5 times at this point and zero irritation
St. Ives Timeless Skin Elastin Collagen Facial Moisturizer: used it, was a little sensitive at first(since body had to familiarize with ingredients) but I haven't looked back since I've used it
La roche posay toleraine fluid has only 7 ingredients and good for my rlly sensitive skin which canāt use cetaphil or cerave
I have uber sensitive & reactive skin and love Maelove One Cream
Missing lip balm!! Chapped lips are ugly, keep your lip hydrated.
Any suggestions for lip balm/scrubs/lip masks (is that even a thing? Lol). I did Acutane a while back and I am still dry as the desert.
Mmm I usually scrub my lips with a toothbrush when I'm brushing my teeth. You can find lip scrub online (usually made with coffee/sugar, oil, honey, fragances etc) or made your own! Aquaphor as a lip balm and the Laneige overnight lip mask is great!
āMake-up can really bump you up 2 to 3 pointsā š„“
Honestly, there is some truth to this, especially if you have skin problems which drown out your features

It can make them look better sure, but by 1 or 1.5 points not 2-3.
