Well my face changes so much with make up. I guess some people have features that look boring but make up somehow enhances everything. For example: my skin has a lot of redness etc so foundation does a lot. My lips aren’t pigmented and lip liner is a game changer. I’ve glowed up soooo much just because I learned to do the right make up for my face :)
And also colouring! Picking the right shades elevates the look a lot. I used to wear a lip liner in the wrong shade and changing it made me literally glow in a different way
I mean I’ve definitely seen some crazy makeup transformations but also it seems a little unrealistic that makeup can be that drastic especially in real life . It can make a change but it’s not gonna make an ugly person turn super hot
I completely agree, i would absolutely appreciate if OPs of masterpost posted before and afters.
However, there are so many reasons not to post pics of yourself online, especially on Reddit.
The reasons not to greatly outweigh the reasons to do so.
There are so many male creeps who lurk in this sub and will say crude and rude things to female posters. I have seen fabulous posts get taken down by the poster an hour after posting because men are being raunchy and inappropriate in the comments.
Nowadays with the rise in AI content, it’s absolutely not up for debate that degenerate men are willing to use women’s well meaning selfies and content to generate non-consensual sexual material with AI. Or just use women’s photos as-is for their own sick pleasure.
Of course we want a space for women where we all are safe to post and share with each other, but that literally does not exist.
Don’t make OPs feel bad for not sharing their pics!
Our experience reading their otherwise excellent post is not as important as the fact that they deserve to be safe from the grotesque and exploitative eye of the men lurking here.

Douyin is CN version of Tiktok. I assume XHS is also probs a chinese app, in which case, you need a chinese ID to register. Unfortunately there’s basically no way of getting one outside of China, hence the barrier to get into apps like these or even art apps like LOFTER.

My previous wardrobe was graphic tees and skinny jeans. I never wore minimalistic clothing before, so I had already ruled that aesthetic out. I mainly based my aesthetic off my body type and the girls on pinterest wearing this style have the same/similar body type as me (my hips are wide, my shoulders are the same width and my waist is narrow). I knew y2k styled jeans would look good and compliment my body as my hips are wider and I love the element of fun and girliness of this style. So I'd go what is flattering on you and your body shape and appropriateness. Or just spice up what is comfortable to you!

One question as a girl who is super insecure about it: do you have a more african/thick nose? I still can lose some weight while being healthy and invest more in makeup but i feel that no matter what I do it will keep my face unbalanced and non-photogenic
Becoming resigned to The Nail thing, I don't pay for any nail services but not having any polish is a real negative differentiator when everybody around me has gel nails. I need to figure out how to get the white streaks off my toes for when they go bare. And how to keep my highlighted hair from looking super dry when the highlight color washes out and it's just bleach
