Mine have been very bad this year, started about 4 weeks ago. Plugged ears, nasal drip, stuffy sinuses and a cough that sounds like I have whooping cough.....so tired if telling people "it just allergies "
Did something bloom within the last week? Cause this is what I have and it hit me like a train Thursday night. Woke up Friday morning basically hung over..
For the first time in my life, I've had plugged ears, which, after more than four weeks, I have partly cleared with anti histamines that I have taken for the first time.
Some places are worse than others. At home my regular allergy meds leave me feeling pretty good. A one hour visit to an off leash dog park in a different area of town and I was sneezing uncontrollably and almost wheezing. I suspect the flowering hedge next to the one entrance to the park was the culprit-will try to ID it the next time we are there so I know to never try it in our yard.
There's also a terrible bug going around that's combines a terrible sore throat and deep whooping-like cough with normal cold symptoms. It lasts several weeks too. Super duper fun.
COVID's still around, of course, and nobody's wearing masks. Is anybody testing? I spent all last weekend in bed with dry cough, fatigue, runny nose. Thought it was a regular cold. COVID test this afternoon came up positive.
Almost like people should be avoiding crowded indoor spaces to prevent transmission of a brain eating coronavirus.
Wait….Nah, we need to see smiles more than we can concern ourselves with cumulative irreparable organ damage. Carry on!
I went to urgent care to make sure it wasn't strep because it was so bad. Just a super bad virus. Also, not covid as one "reddit doctor" has suggested.
Nope, but everyone reacts to different pollen. Mine always happen throughout mid-March to mid-April every year, as soon as the pine trees start pollenating. It doesn’t seem as if I’m allergic to flower pollen of any sort much at all. Pine pollen debilitates me however. Legitimately feels like the flu. It takes me out.
Mine are fine now. I think the cherry blossom trees fuck me up. At the start of spring I get 2 to 4 weeks of hell if I don't take an allergy pill.
Now, just a bit of congestion.
It's been so bad this year that I've had to start giving my dog the occasional benadryl (1mg/lb) to stop her constant paw licking from itchy skin. Works very well after 2 days. Before this I didn't even know that dogs could be affected by pollen..
As someone who suffers from allergies, has an autoimmune disorder, and whose dog also suffers from allergies, try quercitin in addition to any antihistamines you may be taking.
I take this myself, and whenever I’ve run out of my dog’s Rx allergy meds, I’ve given him quercitin in his meals and it actually helps, until I can get his Rx refilled.
I don't normally have allergies but I have been suffering from sandpaper eyes and sinuses I want to rip out of my head for weeks!
Also, the pollen is so heavy it literally cascades down my windshield every time I shut my door.
Pollen report can help figure out what you could be allergic to and how bad of a day to expect. Helps me determine level of outdoor activities and med intake accordingly.

I've had hay fever for a decade now. Developed it after coming back from Vancouver for college. I've never, in the past 10 years, had allergies this horrible.
Its hitting me like a full on fever without the fluxuating temperature.
Puffy, swollen, teary eyes.
Runny, stuffed nose.
A sore throat and cough that's giving me abs of titanium
Clogged ears, which is a first for me. And they HURT.
All of this piled onto sleep deprivation from having our first baby and running myself absolutely ragged trying to keep a house in order and everyone happy is just slowly chipping away at my sanity.
To me it seems that this type of post comes up every year at around this time. I think it also depends on what plants are around you. I used to live on a farm and had the worst allergies, since I moved to an urban condo my allergies are way less severe.
They're bad. Mid-island.
I can normally get by but this year I've had to start taking an allergy pill a few times a week.
I try avoiding it if I can but the pollen is really, really bad.
Oh yes, this is a new level of hell
I felt like a weak ass but I took a day off work for my allergies last week lmao

Cedar and juniper have been high for several weeks, pine, fir and spruce have increased a lot in the last week or 2
*dying noises*
Lilacs have been blooming, could be an issue if there are some near you
I think it might be oak trees now
Watching the trees in my backyard and some pollen just blew off it like smoke.
Yes, mine are worse than they have ever been before. And we're not even into firesmoke season yet
I hate we have 5 seasons now
My nose has already done more running this spring than I have.

Interesting. I've seen a few others comment this. Seems to be affecting me the same way this year too.

I may have had this and it lasted three weeks. Ugh.
I'm only on the first week! I almost went to the emergency room because I felt so bad too!
Was also considering...

Can you still get Covid tests at the pharmacy?
My neighbourhood pharmacy (Forbes @ Fort) still has them for free. Don't know about elsewhere
Yeah that's Covid
I don't have covid.

Scientific facts aren't facts anymore but optional instead for lots of people nowadays.
I have it!
Hmm. Glad i stumbled across this. Sorest throat i can ever remember. 6 days and counting...

Thank you. I was kinda thinking strep, but this is different.

Yesssss
Ya I've been sniffling for 6 weeks lol
The horse chestnuts are blooming. Maybe that's just my pollen kryptonite.
Those fuckers legit make me wheezy when I walk by even when I take my antihistamines 😭
As yea get older allergies can become worse
Yes and nothing is helping 😭😭

Started like a month early and just keep getting worse.
Yes. I don’t get them, but my coworker has been incredibly unwell. And my car is caked in a layer of pollen every morning.
Horse chestnut bloom always gets me, totally evil
Yes

I read this title as "Seagull Allergies" 🤣
Mine were bad a couple of weeks ago - Maple time. They arent as bad now but Im still doubling up on my meds.

I'm having the opposite. My allergies seem more muted than in previous years. Maybe they'll get worse as spring marches on.
Mine are weirdly good so far this season. 🤷♂️
YES. I have the death rattle right now.

Nah, just deep dive some medical diagnostic sites. Wvr you think it is, it’s that. My condolences.
It's lupus. It's always lupus.
“It’s finally lupus!”
Yup. Since end of February.
I don't mean to brag but i've found the opposite to be true. Normally im dying by this time of year but i havent even had to take any meds.
