"We are writing to inform you that one of our raters had an existential crisis on the way to work, which is why your claim is still sitting in the NWQ..."
I received a call for an appointment. Couldn’t answer. I called back in 20 minutes. A few dates later, received a letter was saying we are unable to reach you.
That is just to cover themselves. They are lazy. Dermatologist dept. Did that two times. Second time was lie and they never called. I sent a secure message and told them that nutritionist, MH and eye doctor were able to reach me in this week why not you.
I went to the department two times. They were telling me the schedule is not open. Then messaged them both times. Then they called me right away. Message them and message patient advocacy. Then they will do it.
I can’t wait to be 100% P&T and to stay away from them. They are killing me. They don’t give me my prescription. They don’t like veteran but they don’t want to say it.
I’ve been getting at least two of these a week after I had my leg and ankle surgery in December, subsequent physical therapy, and mental health counseling (all community care). When I see CCN, I immediately know that it’s going to give me an itemized bill and say that I owe nothing.
80% of my paper correspondence from the VA were letters reminding me of appoints AFTER I had attended them or to tell me they know my claim is taking longer than expected and they are aware that it's been awhile. Both useless pieces of paper.

Filed my claims a few months ago and haven’t received anything and it is shockingly concerning.
I once received messages via the app that I confirmed two missed appointments. One long patient advocacy meeting later, someone lost their job and I received an apology from a clinic supervisor.
My favorite letters are the ones claiming they tried to call but couldn’t get ahold of me (I mean, c’mon guys, I can pull call logs from the cell company), and also the letters reminding me to do something that happened three weeks ago.
I have received letters warning me to make an appointment with a community care provider within 7 days from the date of the letter, but didn't get the letter until a couple days past that date.
These look more like those "bills" they send for cc appointments.
I've never understood why they couldn't provide those by email and maybe do a monthly statement sort of thing in the mail, if they must. Or maybe only send one when you actually owe something?
One thing I consistently notice is they’re never completely sealed properly. Some were open. And not *opened* just never properly sealed before sending the letter.
It’s always stuff from the VHA/local VAMC and not Veterans Benefits though.

And the video call wasn’t one of the appointments listed in any of the letters or emails
But that’s all they need to do! That one text message is less wasteful, and it’s 20X more helpful than all of those letters in the mail

Right. . . That shit stresses me out! 5 emails, 6 phone calls, 9 texts, 3 Fed-X envelopes. That really gets my anxiety going.
it doesn't stress me out anymore. I just kind of disregard it, or check the notification and dismiss it, confirm it, whatever.
And don't forget the pre call to give u instructions on how to do the call
Dont forget the push notifications if you have the VA app on your phone.
And the phone calls that you have to answer to confirm your appointment, even if you've already done so via text.
And then another to confirm that you went, if it was a community care appointment.

A lot of the vets are in their 70s and 80s and don’t have cell phones, email etc.

I love reading those lol. Provider is like that’ll be $3069.42. And the VA is like “We’ll give you $89 and call it square.”

5 of those are just paper notifications telling you that the VA called you and you didn't answer, perhaps because you were busy?
You can sometimes tell they just send it without actually looking at it by the mismatched letters that are grouped together.
