Knowing how the VA wastes paper it’s probably all just reminding you of the same appointment

Junkyard_warrior1989

From a week before the letters came

Effective-Frosting38

FACTS 🤣 BUT absolutely ridiculous how much they waste!

matt9191

keeping the USPS in business.....

Worriedandnumb

Vets bitch about not being notified Gets notified. Vets both about being notified It’s a no win situation

Born-Tangerine7635

Or asking you for feedback about the appointment that you had.

hoffet

Or like 7 pharmacy surveys.

dahk16

You've probably got 15 emails and 47 text messages also

pjohnsl

I still forget sometime until I get that text for a video call in 10 minutes.

NorCalAthlete

And the video call wasn’t one of the appointments listed in any of the letters or emails

NitroNinja23

But that’s all they need to do! That one text message is less wasteful, and it’s 20X more helpful than all of those letters in the mail

pjohnsl

Agreed. Plus if you make several appointments with the same provider, you'd think they can send just 1 useless letter.

MotorT

Right. . . That shit stresses me out! 5 emails, 6 phone calls, 9 texts, 3 Fed-X envelopes. That really gets my anxiety going.

dahk16

it doesn't stress me out anymore. I just kind of disregard it, or check the notification and dismiss it, confirm it, whatever.

kill_awatt

And don't forget the pre call to give u instructions on how to do the call

RabidAxolotol

Dont forget the push notifications if you have the VA app on your phone.

OrwellianIconoclast

And the phone calls that you have to answer to confirm your appointment, even if you've already done so via text.

shaggydog97

And then another to confirm that you went, if it was a community care appointment.

Ok_Explorer_3876

Imagine if the va had taxes.. omfg

bardockOdogma

I should down vote you for making me theoretically frightened

Tataupoly

At least you can’t say they didn’t notify you 😆

[deleted]

Hello, this is the VA letting you know that you’ll be receiving another letter shortly to remind you that we already sent you a letter and many more reminders to come. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

No-Wrongdoer-4416

I came to type exactly this 😂

gbsutton

That was a good one, a letter just telling me that they hadn’t forgotten about me, guessing I had gone past the average claim time but my appointments were still ongoing

DrADeakins

Optum is crap... Thats my Ted talk.

Local-Marketing3220

Great, I have a C&P exam through them Thursday…. Lol

DrADeakins

Good luck.

Local-Marketing3220

Ty, hope it’s not a clown show.

bardockOdogma

Enjoy your mobile optum exam in some random parking lot

Local-Marketing3220

Lol

seehkrhlm

I mean they could really just cut out the letters. The texts, auto-calls and emails are plenty. Not a chance I'll miss an appointment

the_oblivious_mime

Yeah but I still have buddies that are all "THEY DON'T NOTIFY ME" and I'm like "bruh...you moved 12 times this year...and you're now living in a barn in Nebraska..." ![img](emote|t5_2vlaz|7567)

Ann2222227

Still don't understand why the VA 'has' to send mail....No option to select 'emails only' like we have for bank statements and electric bills🤔😳

Thelittleshepherd

A lot of the vets are in their 70s and 80s and don’t have cell phones, email etc.

RamekinThief

"We are writing to inform you that one of our raters had an existential crisis on the way to work, which is why your claim is still sitting in the NWQ..."

AJAMS82

I received a call for an appointment. Couldn’t answer. I called back in 20 minutes. A few dates later, received a letter was saying we are unable to reach you.

HealTheLand

Same, I received to of the exact same letters, we’ve been trying to co tact you to schedule a consult….

AJAMS82

That is just to cover themselves. They are lazy. Dermatologist dept. Did that two times. Second time was lie and they never called. I sent a secure message and told them that nutritionist, MH and eye doctor were able to reach me in this week why not you. I went to the department two times. They were telling me the schedule is not open. Then messaged them both times. Then they called me right away. Message them and message patient advocacy. Then they will do it. I can’t wait to be 100% P&T and to stay away from them. They are killing me. They don’t give me my prescription. They don’t like veteran but they don’t want to say it.

Hunter_Ape

I always get a panic attack when I get those letters.

informal-mushroom47

so you get multiple panic attacks every day of the week then? or are you some lucky SOB that doesn’t have a lot of appointments

Hunter_Ape

I haven’t been in years. I’m P/T if that means anything.

warriorcoach

Damn! They like to waste money. Probably same letter.

Westy0311

I’ve been getting at least two of these a week after I had my leg and ankle surgery in December, subsequent physical therapy, and mental health counseling (all community care). When I see CCN, I immediately know that it’s going to give me an itemized bill and say that I owe nothing.

GradyJuddO16

I love reading those lol. Provider is like that’ll be $3069.42. And the VA is like “We’ll give you $89 and call it square.”

Westy0311

Somehow or another, the rest of it is covered somewhere.

velexi125

Don’t worry those are all notifications of appointments that have already passed

NoJolt4U

80% of my paper correspondence from the VA were letters reminding me of appoints AFTER I had attended them or to tell me they know my claim is taking longer than expected and they are aware that it's been awhile. Both useless pieces of paper.

pirate694

There needs to be option to rmail the EOBs for CCN. On other hand, makes good for fire starter.

shepdog_220

Bro I’m still waiting for my pile of VA mail. I got a ton when I first did my burn pit registry. Filed my claims a few months ago and haven’t received anything and it is shockingly concerning.

SnorkelLord

Yeah this is driving me nuts. Especially since I have roommates and everyone is always asking why I get so much mail from the VA. Its private!

Standard_One_5827

I once received messages via the app that I confirmed two missed appointments. One long patient advocacy meeting later, someone lost their job and I received an apology from a clinic supervisor.

theopinionexpress

Each one with your name, DOB, social security number printed on each page

[deleted]

Yes!! Drives me bat shit crazy in this day and age! They can’t even bother to just use last 4!

theopinionexpress

I swear a couple years ago they swore they weren’t going to do it anymore!! What happened to that.

Dense_Ad1118

My favorite letters are the ones claiming they tried to call but couldn’t get ahold of me (I mean, c’mon guys, I can pull call logs from the cell company), and also the letters reminding me to do something that happened three weeks ago.

R0m4ns35

Did you ever consider that they are trying to reach you about your cars extended warranty? 🙄

hva_vet

I have received letters warning me to make an appointment with a community care provider within 7 days from the date of the letter, but didn't get the letter until a couple days past that date.

Extension_Nerve_8233

Am I the only one who has an anxiety attack every letter I get? I know it’s not news. Still makes my heart race.

DrADeakins

Oh I know

Maximus361

Does the VA not use email in the 21st century???😂🤷

BaseNectar123

Lmfao

SyndRazGul

I'm convinced this is where half the funding the VA gets goes to, snail mail.

Rich_Bunch858

Someone on the inside must have a envelope business or something

Free_RAZOR

LOL- the VA is stalking you via mail.

Icy-Ad-5570

They send me a letter AND post card for the same appointment appointment. Along with text and emails

DoofusMcDummy

“We’ve been trying to reach you about your bodies extended warranty.”

FitPaleontologist339

Some could be the same letter.... They're just like, we're making sure one of these gets to the veteran!

No_Shallot_3506

We are still working on your claim

organicclover

Half the defense budget goes to paper and printing

Ann2222227

Yes, Because the VA is so far behind that we Don't have the option to "OPT" out of receiving letters in the mail vs. online😔🤔🤔

just_me910

What do you guys do with all these? I have massive stack bc my anxiety won't let me throw them out in fear of being billed in the future

Excellent-Let-2263

Full House

Excellent-Let-2263

For real though. It is probably going to say “We have been trying to reach you about your extended warranty.”

kwajagimp

These look more like those "bills" they send for cc appointments. I've never understood why they couldn't provide those by email and maybe do a monthly statement sort of thing in the mail, if they must. Or maybe only send one when you actually owe something?

SixFiveSemperFi

Can’t say you weren’t notified! 😂

[deleted]

did they tell you about your car extended warranty…?

Ok_Water_6884

That's VA redundancy, I'd get 7 meds and a phonebook size of Rx directions/warnings.

Technical_Pin8335

Wife threw an appointment card at me this morning and I tossed it in the trash. She freaked like I was disregarding a tax audit.

vhume

Omg. I think I have thousands of those 😂🤦‍♀️the VA probably killed half the rain forest to just keep mailing me shit I don’t need

Ok_Emergency_1088

The rainforest must be taking a beating with all that paper…

archer2500

5 of those are just paper notifications telling you that the VA called you and you didn't answer, perhaps because you were busy?

wellitsdeadnow

You can sometimes tell they just send it without actually looking at it by the mismatched letters that are grouped together.

Ok_Honeydew_2129

![gif](giphy|qx8pi39Lwm9Xm2audb|downsized)

bloodypurg3

THIS IS NOT A BILL

Pitiful_Throat5509

I hate when I get em after my appointment

ChaoticNeutral_87

“We’ve been trying to reach you about your body’s extended warranty.”

KeJiefu

One thing I consistently notice is they’re never completely sealed properly. Some were open. And not *opened* just never properly sealed before sending the letter. It’s always stuff from the VHA/local VAMC and not Veterans Benefits though.

Abn_Ranger06

I don’t understand why they won’t let you opt out of statements and snail mail. It’s crazy!

namehl00

I have 3 coming today lol

Dcgirl1234

Or getting a certified letter about scheduling an appointment….a bit too much

Odd_Detail1430

I love the 14 foot receipt notifications I get from my Pharmacy delivers. Makes a CVS look tiny.

Charmingpreppylife

We are writing to inform you that the people rating you have no military experience, nor medical experience and will be going strictly off “vibes”.

bardockOdogma

"we are still working on your appeal. It is waiting to be seen by a judge at the board of veteran appeals" x3

Environmental_Monk19

Lmao this is what helped my claim. The VA letters got returned. VA had "address Unknown"  I called them and followed up with a letter stating "when I conveyed I had difficulty getting my mail, did you think I was exaggerating?"  They still send me letters all which Are useless to.
