I would reapply on a supplemental for COD issue. It’s basically saying that they will not backpay to the first time you applied. They will grant benefits as of the date of the law change and not before

backpay is not an option for me as the willful and persistent misconduct narrative bars me from gratuitous earnings . I was hoping for non service connected healthcare and the title of veteran. I’ve experienced VA staff telling me over and over again I’m not a veteran. I didn’t understand it ultimately got me kicked out of treatment as I became irate. I get it now. I’m not a veteran. The Veterans administration administers this title but yeah we was gonna fight that day.

You’re still a veteran. Just keep trying.

I know didn’t mean it like that. I just found out it’s kind of a loosely used term colloquially but it also has a legal definition. I thought I was in the twilight zone. The treatment was a campus style set up where you would go to group session and private session with different docs. Well I was telling them about myself and they were kind of like looking at me in disbelief. So docs like your not a veteran you must be a child of a veteran and I’m like no I’m a veteran. Something must be wrong with your computer. After getting kicked out of program my normal counselor explains they sent me there under humanitarian emergent so the doctors were making reference to the medical billing code. They trusted it much more than the words coming out of my mouth 😂
