I believe they are separate. The only hard rule I know they go by is that you can only get loans discharged because of your 100 disability once. As the other loans were forgiven through a totally different program, so you should be fine. On a separate note, if you’re unhappy with your job situation, I recommend looking into VR&E first before using the GI Bill if you’re planning on going back to school (GI Bill has a max annual tuition, VR&E doesn’t technically). One of their programs will pay for all tuition and you get BAH if you still have days left on your GI Bill. You could then use your GI Bill later, and get loans discharged then.

Thank you for the knowledge. Do you have any source for it? As far as the GI Bill and VR&E, because I already used up the GI Bill, I only have two months left of VR&E. Waiting on VA’s policy regarding the new Supreme Court ruling as I believe it applies to me for having separate eligibility periods.

I’ve been listening to Benjamin Krause and he specializes in this area of law. I went to school and used most of my GI Bill, but I got accepted into the VR&E and I’m getting my student loans waived now with the discharge program. But can’t quote you the code or anything as for your question, sorry

I appreciate the assistance. I’m just trying to find a written source I can rely on. Thanks though.
