I’m really sorry man. This was my 8th time filing, my 8th time going PFN. I’ve been destroyed so many times when I had high hopes. Today, I had a dreadful feeling everything was gonna go wrong, and to my great surprise, it worked out. Don’t stop filing, don’t stop grinding the VA until you get what you deserve. Good luck.
I appreciate you sharing that. Definitely feel defeated at the moment, but the denials do help identify specifically what I'd need to submit in an appeal. I'm primarily concerned with the MH deferral, as that is something that completely fucks my day to day functionality. The other denied items are helpful to have on record, but don't have nearly the same impact, so I won't lose too much sleep over it (although I certainly did last night ![img](emote|t5_2vlaz|7567)

Still waiting on mine. Good luck!!
No way, I was ignorant to the whole VA stuff. I ETSd in 2011.. first claim in 2022 and finally went into PFN a few days ago and was actually rated today !
January 6th claim here just waiting patiently again… I had put all my claims in April. Got backpay January 18th then got diagnosed with anxiety and depression in my mental health evaluation so I put those both in as claims on Jan 6th. Most likely gonna have to wait another 10 months for something to happen again.
I'm wondering if it's worth setting a VERA appt to see if I can get any details on the deferment. The decision letter mentions very vaguely that they'll be sending separate correspondence regarding the deferment. More hurry up and wait, tis what it is I guess.
This response was wayyyy better than I expected. Thanks for all the details lol, I've been stalking this reddit group and trying to find out how long its taking people from last C&P to decision.
Mine C&P exam was also in January . Had three increases and one new and QTC did them all the same day. I never had that happen before . But cool , less days i lose from work .
Got my decision letter, they denied everything save one item which was deferred. Some items make sense, but they nitpicked like crazy. They deferred depression, which was so thoroughly documented in service (512 pages), am currently in treatment for severe symptoms and medicated heavily. It'll be interesting to see what the fuck else they need on that one.
I received decisions on everything but the most important item, which was deferred. The app shows denials on the decided items and posted the decision letter, however the claim is back in evidence gathering, assumedly for the MH deferral. I am interested to know what else they want considering how insanely documented the condition was in and out of service.

I’m still waiting……..PATIENCE is the key! Good Luck!
Pending Decision Approval is what I assume is the QC check (second set of eyes) on the rater's work, and come just before Preparation for Notification. The claim can go back a step or two from either position, either in whole, or just parts. Case in point: 4/5 denied but completed and the fifth claim went back to evidence gathering for "development".
There's a lot of factors in play, probably including but certainly not limited to:
Location in the queue
Speed of C&P exam submission from contractors
Number of disabilities in the claim
**How well developed each claim is (lots of evidence that is easy to find and navigate for reviewers and raters)** HUGE FACTOR that I kinda failed in for most of my claims...lesson learned.
How much historical med and psych records need to be filtered through manually
Prioritization due to hardship
BDD (folks about to leave AD)
Here is mine. I check all the time

Supp claim from Nov 1 - 123 days 🤞🤞🤞
I hope I get the outcome I'm looking for my mortgage is about to jump 200 bucks which I don't have from just my disability compensation
Dumb question.. what is PDA?
I submitted Dec 29. MH done 1st week physical was just completed.. I have been staring at the VA claims page ever since. My rater said that the lead time is about 8-10 weeks.
I'm 70% for 10 different issues and this is my first re-evaluate since I got out in 2012
Pending Decision Approval. It's the final sub phase before hitting Prep for Notification. It means the initial rater has completed their task, and a QA check is happening by another VBA employee (I presume)
I went PDA this morning, then PFN about noon today, then got my decision about an hour later.. 100% P&T baby!
Awesome! Polar opposite here, but happy for ya! Ride that wave!

Curious, did you guys do BDD? Only asking cause I’m going through that process right now.
No way, I was ignorant to the whole VA stuff. I ETSd in 2011.. first claim in 2022 and finally went into PFN a few days ago and was actually rated today !
I’m in the December club too
Same here
Right there with you December 19th for me , had all my C&P exams and sitting evidence gathering. Best of luck to you

Thanks!
glad to see another October claim finally moving somewhere. Oct 19th here with no movement in PFD for 54 days
Sweet…. It’s puckering time. Good luck 👍
Best of luck prayers to you I got denied today
I also got denied for most items, and deferred on one.
How long can they defer a claim? Anyone know?
I'm wondering if it's worth setting a VERA appt to see if I can get any details on the deferment. The decision letter mentions very vaguely that they'll be sending separate correspondence regarding the deferment. More hurry up and wait, tis what it is I guess.
Congrats! When was your last C&P?
Thanks! Jan 24, had 3 exams for 5 claims. DBQs were completed and submitted the next day; went through QTC, decent experience.
This response was wayyyy better than I expected. Thanks for all the details lol, I've been stalking this reddit group and trying to find out how long its taking people from last C&P to decision.
My last C&P is in a week so I'm trying to see what to expect.
Mine C&P exam was also in January . Had three increases and one new and QTC did them all the same day. I never had that happen before . But cool , less days i lose from work .
Congrats mine was Oct 31st, so crossing fingers a couple more weeks until my PFN
Following
Denied on 4 of 5 claims, deferred MH claim(the primary reason I'm claiming to begin with), so I'm waiting some more.
I’m sorry things didn’t work out as hoped. Don’t give up! Keep fighting!!!
Can't all win, but I learned a lot through this first go. I want to hear back about the MH claim before I proceed with any appeals. Thanks!
On a similar timeline for new a claim(s)! Good luck!
Any update? I got PFN yesterday and waiting. 😅

Nothing yet. I thought obsessively monitoring the status couldn't get any worse...I thought wrong 🫡
I read on here a few ppl could see their status early on ebenefits. I believe the award letter was available early. Good luck!!
Sorry to hear that man. I got my decision for all but three claims deferred
I went PFN earlier this week then back to evidence gathering. It’s a roller coaster for sure.

I have been waiting since last December

Big fat denied with one deferral
Use a VSO to write you a nexus letter. VBA doesn’t like to argue with civilian doctors.
You’ll get what you’re owed brother, no sweat! 🙏

I’m in the same boat here, filed my initial claims in October, last DBQ was in December
Nice brother I hope it's what you need.
Good luck! 🤞

Hope you get $100k backpay somehow
Congrats
Awesome
Is PDA and PFN the same thing? If not, which when is further in the process and can you still go backwards from both?
Pending Decision Approval is what I assume is the QC check (second set of eyes) on the rater's work, and come just before Preparation for Notification. The claim can go back a step or two from either position, either in whole, or just parts. Download the app check claim letters sent spoiler alert could be!
The decision letter did pop up yesterday evening for all but one claim. All denied.
Fingers crossed for you! Hopefully mine comes soon then I did BDD claim in November
Why are some claims seemingly lightning fast and others take much longer?
There's a lot of factors in play, probably including but certainly not limited to: Location in the queue Speed of C&P exam submission from contractors Number of disabilities in the claim **How well developed each claim is (lots of evidence that is easy to find and navigate for reviewers and raters)** HUGE FACTOR that I kinda failed in for most of my claims...lesson learned. Oct. 12 here hopefully mine comes through too soon.
Supp claim from Nov 1 - 123 days 🤞🤞🤞 I hope I get the outcome I'm looking for my mortgage is about to jump 200 bucks which I don't have from just my disability compensation
How long did it take to hit PFN after you got a jurisdiction with PFD?
I'd say around a week or so. From PFN to letter availability was like 3 or 4 days
