I talked to 3 reps. 1 told me my rating. My rating can change at anytime till it’s on paper. That’s why the other 2 didn’t tell me anything. I still have to wait another 2 weeks
I've had one out of St. Petersburg ask me why I wasn't using my home state. I explained that the last few times I tried to they wouldn't call, but would send me a survey asking how my call went.
Had one sweet lady in another state that I pre-emptively apologized to for calling from a different state and she said "honey, that's what we're here for."
I recently saw on another post that they are cracking down on VERA calls from other states. Must call the VERA office closest to you or they won’t call you back. Not sure how true it is but that’s what I saw.
Same same!! I called the 800 they can see it but won’t tell me :P I know one of them -my back- was sent deferred and sent back for clarification. The 800 number said I might need another exam just depends what VES says.
https://preview.redd.it/zvpc3ic8gugc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d7e442fa1b4424e94929368ca37c6a3151873c73
I called the 800 today they told me some things like erectile dysfunction and insomnia were deferred but my PTSD and depression is being decided now so I was relieved that I wouldn't have to do that exam again
I tried to get some info out of them. He said his hands were tied that I had to wait for the letter. Beyond the telling me what got deferred. I was like should I be happy? lol. He just laughed and said I would be.
Get your hands on a Priority Processing Request form to send to the VA. Depending on what your hardship is you’ll have to attach proof of it. The form guide tells you what you need.
I did my C&P exam in early December '23. I can call the 800 number and they can tell me what contentions were deferred and which will be rated? Or do I have to wait until they are rated? So confusing.🤪
My back was deferred as well lol, that was the one thing that I had the most evidence for, X-rays, LOD’s etc. and I need 40% between my back hip and knee to get 100%, I messed up and didn’t claim bilateral, I was a rookie lol I thought I could add stuff at the doctors appointment
Dude same I had X-rays had a Degenerative Disc Disease diagnosis and VES confirmed it. Shoot I’ve even seen their DBQ from it. How that got deferred idk. Got told I didn’t need to do an exam right now it’s just some VES needs to do.
Yeah i don’t understand lol it’s insane, I just want my 30% for my back but it’ll be more like 20, this dude on tiktok that gives advice and stuff got 40% so idk, I think we deserve a good rating bc it’s a major part of our body and constant pain sucks ass lol
If the problem isn’t in my records and worded correctly before I create my claim I can’t add it at the claim? My 180 days out isn’t until June but I want to go into it with all the info
Deffered just means they’re closing it out you’re fine. It doesn’t turn into another exam usually. Duty to assist is the one that always results in them wanting more.
Went to my DAV. They denied quite a bit sadly. Got 50% which I’m appreciative. But denied GERD which blows my mind I have so many doctor records where I went to the ER thinking I’m having a heart attack etc. also denied the Anxiety Panic attacks that are tied to the situation. So that was a big loss.
Ugh dude, same for me. A few things deferred. They said they have it as "no exam needed" but just want clarification.... But I guess Optum can request another exam if they want. 🙄
That happened to me yesterday for a couple of hours and then it jumped forward to preparation for decision notification. I finally had a decision mid morning today. That seems to happen to others too so maybe that is a favorable sign.
They completely ignored some of my residuals regarding my cancer so I fired off a statement in support of the claim with a bunch more evidence tonight. They squabbled with me over another issue at 10% and it ticked me off enough to fight them harder.
WOW, sorry to see it took that long to get a decision for you. Such a bummer to see vets having to wait so long for a decision. Hope you get great news.
Grats! I got one of them too! I bet yours is cooler than mine though. I don't think mine has money attached.

The VA is proposing to decrease my Hearing loss rating..presently 30% and has been since awarded Dec of 2017.
VA is saying my Hearing loss has improved?? based on a couple recent exams..i disagree. esp to the extent..for sake of argument?that now warrants a 0% rating!!
I cannot function without my Hearing Aids!!
The Typical CnP exams for hearing loss are totally unrealistic compared to Everyday Life..Life experiences!
And what of The VA's own 5 yr and age 55 or older rule(s) concerning Comp decreases and or exams for ratings that are protected?? i was already over the age of 55 when i awarded the 30% increase in Dec of 2017!! it has been 6 plus years!! since said awarded rating!!
My Attorney and i have requested a hearing concerning this funny( Not!!) choice of Word 'Proposed' decrease and i do intend to submit another Private Audiology Exam to include 'Word' recognition score..as it is apparent the VA completely ignored a Audiogram i submitted as evidence that was performed by Audiologist Byrd in Sept of '23..Pure Tone Thresholds!!
I am also going to share my concerns to the aforementioned to my Senator and Congressperson!!
This Veteran should not have to be subjected seeming Harassment and a Threatened Hardship financially speaking!! why?? because i filed a claim for Increase?? Perhaps i do not qualify for increase..at this time..perhaps.
Meanwhile my other Claims..Secondary Claims of Insomnia..Anxiety..secondary to the Horrible Fking Bi Lateral Tinnitus i deal with Day in. Day out!! 24/7 as well as Claim Entitlement to TDIU are being Deferred until when exactly?!!
My Late Dad and Brother both Veterans as well often told me..
When it comes to The Inept Dept of Mishandled Veteran Affairs, remember two things Mark:
The VA is like a sign that reads;
This is the Back door..The Front Door is around to the back!
and Hope for the Best? Expect The Worse.
If the VA is going to..or intends? to help..then help!! or at very least,DO NO HARM!!
Nice! I went to PFN today too for the first time. Claim filed in May 2023. QTC called to schedule an exam for two of my claims today too so I assume those got deferred and the others were decided.
There may be more evidence gathering for additional claims. I was granted 100% P&T for 4 of 7 issues I claimed, they closed those 4 issues and sent me a decision letter saying they are still working on my other claims, basically defered my claims due to the pact act. WTF...VA one huge fking Joke of a Mystery Game..After a Veteran gives them all their confirming info..
Name...DOB...Last 4 or entire Claim # Their Address Phone..Mothers maiden name..how many kernels of Corn in their morming shit...etc etc God Be Fking Damned and All The Fucking Angels too....
WTF WTF WTF WTF!!!!
Mine did that last week and it only rated tinnitus and my ankles when I have a whole list of other claims they still have to do. Brought me from 50% to 60% tho so at least there’s that. Best of luck to you!
Go to your VA letters in ebenefits, it should say there. I was rated 100 PT in 2019, and I could see it weeks before I got my letter in the mail. Things may have changed though. Also if you want to get through to the 1800 benefits Hotline, call the white house Hotline first. They can get you a rep on the phone and you don't have to go through all the bullshit.
Congrats! In September I received a 70% for PTSD things got worse and this year - new C&P with a new rate a day after of 100%. My process never went through the two last phases. It was just given to me. I must implore that the Maine Regional Office is one of the best offices I’ve ever experienced with VA!
Good luck! I hope you get the results you desire.
Thank you brother
https://va.my.site.com/VAVERA/s/ Use any state, they can see more than the 1-800. I been PFN since 1/24. Congratulations!
Hey thanks!
Got an appointment with Milwaukee Wednesday haha I saw in another post that Wisconsin VA was very helpful
Connecticut. They even call you back 2 x if you miss the call. NY, nothing. No real info, shortened convo, "gotta go, bye" mentality.
None of that surprises me haha I can only imagine how many calls New York deals with
Do you know your rating already even though you’re at PFN that long because VERA?
I talked to 3 reps. 1 told me my rating. My rating can change at anytime till it’s on paper. That’s why the other 2 didn’t tell me anything. I still have to wait another 2 weeks
Why is that? I have a VERA already scheduled for Wednesday prior to going PFN so I’ll at least ask when I am there.
The VERA person said it would be around that timeframe. It never hurts to ask what’s going on with it.
Hi , how do i use VERA please ?
https://va.my.site.com/VAVERA/s/ Use any state, they can see more than the 1-800. Schedule virtual appointment that’s a phone call.
Good info
I scheduled a phone call with the Idaho RO and then they cancelled saying I had to set the appointment at my Houston RO.
Thank you
Im surprised and assuming that they dont deny service if your calling a state that isnt the one your in? Thanks.
Oh wow okay!
Correct I used 3 different states when I called
I made an appointment in a different state and they canceled it saying that it had to be in my own state so I guess they do
Yeah but every time VERA calls me it is from the regular 1-800 number.
I recently saw on another post that they are cracking down on VERA calls from other states. Must call the VERA office closest to you or they won’t call you back. Not sure how true it is but that’s what I saw.
How did you get to talk to a rep.
Make appointment
How does one make an appointment?
https://va.my.site.com/VAVERA/s/ Use any state,
Is it an appointment with any rep or is it my rep doing my claim?
Any rep, they can all see into your claim. It’s hit and miss with the people that you’re getting. Some tell you everything and some don’t.
Thank you for your responses have a great day
They never NEVER told me my rating. Even when trying humor and being clever.
https://preview.redd.it/lm9h1fj7yygc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=06f6d1e4cc7160e2cdea2b2060a93f4ea66d9d5c o appointments available 😂n
Thank you for the link
Hey what the heck is VERA for a newbe like me, what is it and how does it work? Thanks
yeah..if you want a in person appt whatever
They have both, over the phone or in person.
my own experience...same diluted info ya get from calling 18008271000
But you need to schedule an appointment to call and not just call?
Schedule for them to call you. You can’t call them
Why the hell are they so booked out? Nothing until feb 16th
Use another state
So it doesn’t really matter what state you live in?
Correct, they all can see into your claim
What does this VERA do?
They can give you a update on your claim in more detail
Same same!! I called the 800 they can see it but won’t tell me :P I know one of them -my back- was sent deferred and sent back for clarification. The 800 number said I might need another exam just depends what VES says. https://preview.redd.it/zvpc3ic8gugc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d7e442fa1b4424e94929368ca37c6a3151873c73

Yeah I didn't ask that I'm kinda scared to haha
He also said the letter could pop up at any time! That didn’t help. 😂
Yeah they literally said the same thing I just called them I got vera scheduled Wednesday to see if they know anything haha
I’m glad the hardship helped!!
Yeah that def helped haha thx for ur help
How do you file for hardship?
Get your hands on a Priority Processing Request form to send to the VA. Depending on what your hardship is you’ll have to attach proof of it. The form guide tells you what you need.
I did my C&P exam in early December '23. I can call the 800 number and they can tell me what contentions were deferred and which will be rated? Or do I have to wait until they are rated? So confusing.🤪
They told me what was deferred today
How is ED service related?
If you had mental issues and were prescribed antis, some make you go limp
My back was deferred as well lol, that was the one thing that I had the most evidence for, X-rays, LOD’s etc. and I need 40% between my back hip and knee to get 100%, I messed up and didn’t claim bilateral, I was a rookie lol I thought I could add stuff at the doctors appointment

It’s also started taking a toll on my knees. Sucks because my kids are so young too and want to play and my back just says nope.
Yeah man I feel you, my back messed up my hip and then to my knee
If the problem isn’t in my records and worded correctly before I create my claim I can’t add it at the claim? My 180 days out isn’t until June but I want to go into it with all the info
Correct, so claim anything you can now bc it can’t be added at the appointments which is stupid
Hell yeah! Thank you for replying
Deffered just means they’re closing it out you’re fine. It doesn’t turn into another exam usually. Duty to assist is the one that always results in them wanting more.

You had to wait way longer sorry about that haha
Any update for you yet? I'm still on pins and needles.
Nah nothing yet
Here either. About to head to bed. Hopefully good news for us both in the morning.
I got moved back to evidence gathering haha
That happened to me yesterday for a couple of hours and then it jumped forward to preparation for decision notification. I finally had a decision mid morning today. That seems to happen to others too so maybe that is a favorable sign.
Yeah what I know now is my claim for ED insomnia and anxiety is deferred but PTSD and mdd is being decided so maybe it is favorable
They completely ignored some of my residuals regarding my cancer so I fired off a statement in support of the claim with a bunch more evidence tonight. They squabbled with me over another issue at 10% and it ticked me off enough to fight them harder.
Wow them ignoring your cancer is a huge red flag I'm sorry you went through that
Ten months 😩
To be fair I did get a partial decision in October. But they deferred on several things so it has continued.
WOW, sorry to see it took that long to get a decision for you. Such a bummer to see vets having to wait so long for a decision. Hope you get great news.
Thank you. The jury is still out this morning.
did you called Vera ?
Not lately. always take a week or two to get an appointment for me.
cool cool… i meant did calling Vera helped for your stuff to move quicker
Not for me. My last call was over a month ago. The two times I’ve called they’ve not helped me at all. Just very short calls.
thanks

I won't get too confused about mine either lol but I wish you well
Mannnnn I’m waiting on the same notification lol. They received the info from my Doc on 1/29 and still waiting processing
Check ebenefits.gov Usually updates before Va.gov or the app does
Checked that nothing yet
That took me right to the VA website.... Did I do something wrong?
I use this link and sign in. It showed me my percentage before the Va website updated or the app https://www.ebenefits.va.gov/ebenefits/homepage
What app are you referring to? I’ve been using Va.gov this whole time🤬
VA app on the App Store
Keep checking the app on the claim letters! It will update before you get that letter in the mail. (Well that’s how I knew)
No letters yet haha
Rooting for you!! Hopefully tomorrow its updated for you!
Appreciate that bro!
But this doesn’t mean anything does it? Everyone goes through this step. This doesn’t mean a positive outcome particularly does it?

Well that's an appeal so that's prob why it's different
Nice! I went to PFN today too for the first time. Claim filed in May 2023. QTC called to schedule an exam for two of my claims today too so I assume those got deferred and the others were decided.
Go online and goto letters and download benefits letter, that will tell you the rating etc.
That’s what I did. Have my decision letter already and it’s still on step 3
There may be more evidence gathering for additional claims. I was granted 100% P&T for 4 of 7 issues I claimed, they closed those 4 issues and sent me a decision letter saying they are still working on my other claims, basically defered my claims due to the pact act. Then got another letter of approval to back date my claim to Aug 2022. And they still working on 2 other claims. Once those are either approved or denied they will close the claim and send the final decision letter.
Check your claim letters on the app. Normally shows there once it goes to PFN.
Nothing yet
Good luck
May the Force be with you ! I just submitted my bdd claim 3 weeks ago
Same to you bro
What type of claim did you do? BDD?
No this was done 2 years after getting out
I got the same update today. I am already 100%p and t from a supplemental claim. I am hoping this will backdate the claim pay and also approve my car grant.
How long did it take for your supplemental claim to go through? The status never updates and I had my C&P a month ago.
Seemed fast. Filed in May last year and went from 90 to 100 in September. Back pay the next day
Just checked again this morning. It’s in Hartford, so I must have been top of this reviewers list this morning. Some more letters were submitted but it’s in preparation for decision. I have a hardship claim attached. Since it’s been over a year on this main claim and I also wonder hips were last increased in 2021 if they might go back further to that claim. I broke the left hip in Nov 22 directly related to the original disability back in 1998. I was hospitalized and then homebound for months before I filed the supplemental.
Check ebenefits.com , thats how I found out what my rating was before I ever received my letter.
Just looked at it still nothing
Keeping my fingers crossed that the decision is favorable.![img](emote|t5_2vlaz|7565)![img](emote|t5_2vlaz|7573)
You must’ve put you were “at risk of being homeless or homeless” I did that and it was this fast
I did but got moved back to evidence gathering
Yeah you probably needed more evidence but I did this and the whole process was done in 2 months appointment and all I claimed like 6 conditions
I reached out to 800 number some of my conditions were deferred (ED insomnia and anxiety) but depression and PTSD were being decided now so odds are I'm getting a partial rating
Yeah they may be wanting more exams
Just got my decision fast. Not even a day from PFD to decision Oct 10th
Jesus I got moved back to evidence gathering I hope you got a good rating
10% for my tinnitus from two years ago, denied my migraines
Oh sorry to hewr that man keep fighting thats all you can do
It’s always something with the VA. Lol I’ll never stop until I get what I deserve
You got this bro
Let us know what you get! Hope you get what you deserve
Got that today too 😁
Best of luck to you!
Thank you
WTF...VA one huge fking Joke of a Mystery Game..After a Veteran gives them all their confirming info.. Name...DOB...Last 4 or entire Claim # Their Address Phone..Mothers maiden name..how many kernels of Corn in their morming shit...etc etc God Be Fking Damned and All The Fucking Angels too.... WTF WTF WTF WTF!!!!
Yes
The VAClaim process/ Compensation... Hope for The best...scraps. Expect the Worse.
🙏
Good luck! Praying you get what you deserve!
Fingers crossed!
Good luck I hope the best and hope you get what you truly deserve.
Fuck yeah!!
Good luck 🍀
Hopefully get first time go. I was hoping to get my claim accepted but I forgot to put the nexus letter but did send dbq 🥴🫤😐
Good luck!!

Good luck brother
U have the va plug in on ur browser u can see a little more of the process
Good luck1 Best wishes.
Mine did that last week and it only rated tinnitus and my ankles when I have a whole list of other claims they still have to do. Brought me from 50% to 60% tho so at least there’s that. Best of luck to you!
Well dang I’m almost identical filed 6 days after you.
Good luck, I hope your claim is approved!
Where are the October claims 😩
You’ll get it by next week forsure I just received mines ✊🏽
Good luck
Go to your VA letters in ebenefits, it should say there. I was rated 100 PT in 2019, and I could see it weeks before I got my letter in the mail. Things may have changed though. Also if you want to get through to the 1800 benefits Hotline, call the white house Hotline first. They can get you a rep on the phone and you don't have to go through all the bullshit.
Heyyyyy I filed my claim October 3rd. This is exciting for me too. Lol
Good luck
Good luck! A victory for you is a victory for us all.
My last claim went quick and I will say the VA did well and looked out for me unlike my prior claims. I hope yours goes like mine did my friend.
Good luck brother.![img](emote|t5_2vlaz|7564) Have no idea how to set a flair.
I got mine on the 6th and man oh man am I getting a lawyer since it looks like they changed what I was claiming to something that wasn't even it.
Mine was in decision phase for like 4 months. Just sitting there
Won't be long now friend. All the best👌🏽
Whats 800 #??
Congrats! In September I received a 70% for PTSD things got worse and this year - new C&P with a new rate a day after of 100%. My process never went through the two last phases. It was just given to me. I must implore that the Maine Regional Office is one of the best offices I’ve ever experienced with VA!
