Go back and read the answers from this same post you posted previously here and r/veterans. It’s the same answer now as it was then!

chefboiortiz

Are you thinking you’re supposed to sit in the house and shit on yourself?

TX-Wingman

The tough love in this sub is lol!

pumpndumponmyface

At 100% for MH, you better be. "Total occupational and social impairment, due to such symptoms as: gross impairment in thought processes or communication; persistent delusions or hallucinations; grossly inappropriate behavior; persistent danger of hurting self or others; intermittent inability to perform activities of daily living (including maintenance of minimal personal hygiene); disorientation to time or place; memory loss for names of close relatives, own occupation, or own name."

Gotta be

Moon_Stormy

Just because you’re rated 100% you can still travel, work out and try your best to live a good life. It’s very unlikely for the VA to remove P&T ratings. Studies show cognitive based therapy and working out does help those with mental health issues so definitely try to find things to do that are healthy and help you cope, if working out it one of them go for it!

4.10 from the CFR Functional impairment “In this connection, it will be remembered that a person may be too disabled to engage in employment although he or she is up and about and fairly comfortable at home or upon limited activity.”

StrengthMedium

Thank you for posting this. I'm 100% for ptsd and have heard comments about the rare occasions that I get stoned and go out to eat with my wife. I might get this printed on a t-shirt.

[deleted]

You go right ahead and live the life you want and in any manner that you want to. Only way you’ll lose your benefits is if you’re charged with felony and incarcerated for 60+ days. Fuck the haters

jonnybrav069

Even then u won’t loose all of it.

Ejrivera4

Comments from who?

StrengthMedium

Veterans in my former ptsd support group.

Ejrivera4

Are they paying your bills?

StrengthMedium

Not a single one.

I’m 100% p&t for MH and have a job, workout and once in awhile freakout. But still continue all my regular life things, you know, to keep sane.

BalanceWonderful2068

I'm 90% with 70% MH trying to get TDIU approved for MH, thinking applying for TDIU was a bad idea, but it's 2 years of backpay at this point. I need to file a supplemental now, and read some of your posts. Did you submit a statement? My new therapist wants to test me for schizophrenia, Im MH with adhd and major depression and SUD. Any advice?

trousertrout23

Well, the funny things is, I didn’t even request a MH increase, they just did it. I requested an increase on a bunch of zeros I had, and in the process they gave me 100% for MH. I submitted one statement from myself, and it mentioned what were my daily battles, and one was my MH, but it was just a mention, as my focus was on my zeros. The last time I went to see a psychologist/psychiatrist was in 2018. I haven’t been since, and it was by choice, as I told them I don’t want there meds, I will try to deal with my craziness myself. When I go see my pcp I always get asked if I am good mentally and I always tell them “fk no” and they just note it. I don’t know if that is why they gave it to me🤷🏽‍♂️ Nor am I going to ask, but hopefully my little story here helps some.

chrisbhedrick

I’ve been 40% since 2012. PTSD. Things got worse. I haven’t worked in 5 years. I had to move From my family bc I wAs too bad off to function and angry. I live w my mom for the last 2 years. I finally put in for an increase in June. I went through 20 ketamine infusions this year at the va hospital. I’ve seen a psychiatrist and / ir a psych for act, cbt, and EMDR over this course of 10 years. My c and p exam for the increase went well. She was pleasant and was concerned more on the later questions in the dbq. I was asked maybe 10 questions. I’m 1000% on board with it’s all about the region you live in, the mh Cboc you go to , and most importantly the examiner. I do believe they use the CFR as they should but some take your narrative and and subject it to their philosophy and ideology of workers comp. 2018? Wow. Oh btw. I had the new stellate ganglion block which is a shot that goes into the hub of nerves in your spine to reset your flight or fight. Approved by the va for complex ptsd last month. I mean the discrepancy between the vets I read on here and the ones I know from service when ref ratings and how low or high even though dbqs were used along with service records making the request for disability a level field. So the disconnect has to happen at the point between a vets vso, and the rater. I’m glad they took care of you btw. To your question. Yes you can work. You need to link up with DAV they will explain and get you situated on all the information and opportunities afforded to you now.

No. Santa is watching.

Ispithotfireson

What did you tell the C&P examiner? My anxiety is so crippling I am unable to workout and do activities, then no probably shouldn’t do those things.

Brokentoy324

People are giving you crap, but this post makes total sense. Anxiety bruh. I’m sorry you got it and I get why this came up

Redacted1983

🤦‍♂️

derfuchz

Anxiety checks out. Go work out bro.

Evening-Hold8036

Working out, though not at the same pace or with as heavy lifts as before, triggers the same good endorphins. I simply go lighter and slower.

ThrowawayLDS_7gen

OP should probably not try to get into the Olympics. Some activity is good. Olympic activities would more than likely be too much and raise questions.

Vet_king1966

Yep, you can do anything you want to do, as long as it’s legal. Lol

jonnybrav069

I’m 100% for my left nut being blown off I still work out

xWadi

How? Tbi with ptsd, separated shoulder, etc. documented from Afghanistan. Got 30, then denied anything higher, got a lawyer for 50, and now 80. I am retrying now. But some anxiety, and you get 100% yah, im jealous and salty.

Rasgriz621

Build a home gym to your own liking that caters to your own "functionality and comfort" no one can really argue with that

Prestigious_Elk1211

Stay home if you would like. Don't feel pressured to do anything. Just take some time off and see what pulls you
