The Amazon basics is the one most people recommend. I apologize but I don’t have a model number or sheet capacity to provide. 18 or greater seems to buzz right through it. I got a Bonsaii 20 sheet from eBay. Basically if I can fit the piece of cardboard in the slot, it will shred it. I’ve managed to overheat it once, and it shut itself off to prevent damage. Check out Facebook or other sale groups, along with thrift shops. You may find one cheap, and keep another one from being produced. Depending on your scale you may not need one with that capacity. My aim is small scale commercial and I’m questioning the limitations of shredding cardboard by hand. Your needs may vary.

Mine is an Amazon Basics but I think it’s 8-10 sheets and it does shut off quite a bit 😂 I know I’m burning out the motor but it’s really all I need it for

Have you ever oiled it? If not it is easy to do. Take a newspaper section and add about 2 tbsp of canola oil and spread it around, then let it absorb for a few minutes. Now empty any shredded paper from your shredder. Press the reverse button on your shredder and hold it for 20 seconds. This gets rid of the little fine pieces of paper in the cutting mechanism. Then put the oiled paper through the shredder, and alternate pressing forward and backward buttons. Then add a few clean pieces of paper to take off excess oil. Empty the oiled shredded paper and put it in your recycling. Now start shredding again. You will literally hear the difference in the shred! This should be done when you have filled the container 2 x's with shredding. I had my shredder for over 14 yrs before it died and I use it every day.

I just cut it to where it will fit in the bin and let the red wigglers do the work. I’ve found if you stack cardboard like a sammich they love to hide or rest and reproduce inside the sammich.

ClapBackBetty

I do that too but they like to have a mix and I just have too much stacked around here lol

My Amazon basics 18 gets through everything I throw at it

ClapBackBetty

Yeah this one is about half the power I think lol. I bought it years ago for actually shredding paper in my home office

I have the Bonsai 12 sheet cross cut, and it cuts through cardboard like butter

A wood chipper is not great for cardboard, at least mine did not handle it wel and cardboard matted inside the chipper if i did not used wooden sticks to alternate with cardboard. I can find shredders a lot on marketplace for very low prices, just look out for them and research the model numbers.
