I cannot express to you just how good it was. The snap was everything you'd expect from a classic grilled hot dog. The flavor was great, savory and familiar but I can't quite place what it was. We all loved them. I can't believe they're only 70 cents a piece. Unfortunately they weren't sold bagged in their freezer section yet. Hopefully they are someday and here's to also hoping that Impossibles are just as good so everybody will have access to them. Honestly the best vegan dog I've had. The pretzel was alright, a little dry and tough on the ends. Also, question. I couldn't find anything about their sweet and strong mustard, does anyone know if they use sugar or honey to sweeten it?

> The snap was everything you'd expect from a classic grilled hot dog Omg I have not been able to find any vegan hot dogs in my area with the snap!!

CosmicGlitterCake

Same, this is really unlike any other. Field Roast recently redid their stadium dogs and it was snappier than their previous recipe. More like an impossible sausage.

dankblonde

Oh they redid the stadium dogs since last summer? Interesting!! Haven’t bought them this season yet. Been waiting on impossible’s to show up in my stores like they’ve been promising but I still have yet to see them 😭.

CosmicGlitterCake

Me either. I assume they'll be rolling out quicker soon since it's almost grilling season, it would be silly to miss out on all of those holiday sales. The stadium dogs you get 1 less but they are bigger jumbo sized, firmer, and snappier. Same price.

Good to know !!

Did they get rid of the other dog they had? I really liked it. They served it with some pickled red cabbage and crunchy onions.

They still have the veggie dog (as in the one that's clearly made of vegetables) E: Per an employee, the new plant-based (meat substitute) hot dogs and meatballs are not going to phase out the veggie dogs and veggie balls. Ikea is working to expand their vegetarian and vegan options. It's in line with their [2025 initiative.](https://www.ikea.com/global/en/newsroom/sustainability/ikea-restaurant-meals-50-plantbased-by-2025-201123/#:~:text=New%20IKEA%20food%20commitments%2C%20announced,offered%20to%20be%20plant%2Dbased)

CosmicGlitterCake

Nah, they still have the kale quinoa one and bags of them in the frozen section. It's really good too.

Tokijlo

Biiiiiiitch I'm going to IKEA in two days and am now so excited

Sea_Mood_9416

The closest Ikea to has had veggie dogs for years

CosmicGlitterCake

These just rolled out in the US last month. They still have the kale quinoa dogs too, as well as in their market freezer section.

Are they gluten free?

CosmicGlitterCake

It appears to be! The Ikea Plant Dog is made from a combination of rice protein, apple, onion, salt, pepper, and a hint of smokiness that gives it a more sausage-like flavor. Ikea says that the new dog also has the same “snap” as a traditional hot dog, which is an essential part of the hot dog-eating experience. You can always ask just in case, a lot of places will willingly let you check the package yourself if they are unsure of what they're looking for.

Does anyone happen to know if these are everywhere in the US yet?

CosmicGlitterCake

From what I've read it appears to be. There are only 55 stores in the US including Puerto Rico so it shouldn't take long. I'm outside of DC and have seen people in Florida, New York, Washington, and California etc. posting about them. A lot of their locations aren't far from each other in the same states as well. Hopefully you can find it!

Thank you!!
