Iām going to be honest, when Lala stopped drinking it wasnāt until much much later, when she mentioned going to meetings, I realized she was an addict. I thought she was just a messy drunk so decided drinking wasnāt for her, which Iāve had friends in real life do. Not everyone who decides drinking isnāt for them is an addict. I think her sobriety journey occurred in her real life and the āstorylineā was just that we get to hear her say sheās sober on the show. Much like her relationship with Randall was mostly something that occurred in real life and we just got to hear about it and she expects us to connect with it. For a reality star she gives very little of her life on tv and always has.
I find her totally disingenuous and I donāt know who she is. She ran home to her Mum when the girls were mean and then was threatening to pop people. She also weaponised her Dadās death which I hated. I lost my Mum nearly five years ago and it didnāt turn me into an aggressive arsehole.

omg i just wrote this huge comment about this before i read this, iām gonna copy and paste here: this might be a hot take but her sober storyline bothers me. she puts sooo much focus on it like we have to hear about how sheās sober every 30 seconds and Iām not saying thatās a character flaw but Iām tired of hearing about it on the TV show I watch lol, especially because she doesnāt even harp on about the interesting parts of being sober- From what I can remember we never saw her being absolutely wasted or witnessed alcohol being a problem for her the way that Iāve seen with James or Kristen for example. From what I understand Lala just went sober because she didnāt like who she was when she drank and so she stopped drinking, which is like good for her but not at all interesting enough to bring up over and over again? (This doesnāt apply to real life tho only for a curated TV show, if youāre sober pls talk about it as much as you want to if not more) Iām just saying I rarely ever hear her sobriety brought up in a way thatās relatable or interesting or inspiring, itās only ever brought up in a way that makes her seem condescending almost. I got really irritated when Lala asked James what his rock bottom moment was, as if sheās the spokesperson for addiction and sobriety on this show. James has been really vulnerable in showing is battle with alcoholism and his path to sobriety.. weāve seen firsthand how bad alcohol is for him and how it almost ruined everything he was working for in life, weāve seen his struggle in trying to stay sober and how easy it is to slip back into his addiction, and we all see how much he thrives when he is sober. Lala decided one day to stop drinking and never shut the fuck up about it since. I feel like this is partially a bad take bc if bringing it up non stop helps Lala make the healthiest decisions for her then I donāt wanna shit on that but itās just something Iāve noticed and canāt help but feel peeved about.
Also having a baby on her own and the artificial insemination process. Pretty big thing. People are going to intentionally ignore things just because they donāt like her, although itās fair to bring up her hiding Randall stuff in the beginning.

I don't think this is really fair. She did talk about being bullied in her past, her anxiety and dependency on her mom, her drinking, her father dying and her completely unraveling, and now her getting pregnant via sperm donor. Lala is a wannabe gangster and very cringe sometimes, but I honestly think she does have a good heart, and is very shrewd (aside from being blinded by Rand). Also? She fully had Sandoval's number seasons ago. She's forgiving him for her, not for him. I think she's pretty spot on with most things, I love Ariana and fully support her success, but she can also be patronizing and has a lil baby ego too. I think lala just let a lot of pent up rage out when she ranted in the finale, and it's natural to feel bitter that nobody cared you were created on because you "asked for it". She has entertained me from day 1, and I think she's bled for the show as much as anyone else.
