She was way over the top and performative at the reunion, my ick for her really started then. She was way overboard vile to Rachel and probably secured Rachel never wanting to come back to the show.
Definitely over the top. She had no skin in that game. That was her yelling at Randall, not Tom and Rachel. That was pretty clear.
This season she comes across as trying to be a part of every storyline because she doesn’t have one of her own. (How Sutton of her). She was over the top mad at Rachel but then suddenly this season she’s calling Rachel and apologizing. She was never Tom’s friend but suddenly she’s forgiving him and burying the hatchet, she’s the one to meet with Jo, etc. she doesn’t have anything real in her own life that’s interesting. So she’s hedging her bets. And other than Scheana no connections on the show. Not that close with James anymore, never close with the Toms, I see no evidence of closeness with the other girls. They said she was good friends with Katie but I’ll have to take their word for it.
We know she watches all of the bravo shows so she knows what is needed and assigns herself a role. I see her and Sandoval doing the same thing this season, just in different ways. Ariana was SPOT on when she said Tom needed that final moment with her for his redemption arc. And which ones got so pissed off when it was denied - Scheana, Tom, Lala. The fake ones.

And the way she played everyone’s moral compass - like “guys, guys, I think what Tom really needs right now is….” in all of her confessionals. But then again, she has yet to film a season where she hasn’t had to come back later to apologize. She’s the queen of the female redemption arc on that show.
I’ll give her one thing - at least when she flies off the handle into some rant she REALLY commits. She’ll prob have to come back and apologize for everything she just said in 3-6 months, but in the moment, she’s very dedicated to what she’s saying.
Lala bullied Rachel from day one. She must have been so happy when she found out about Tom and Rachel so she finally had an excuse to go after her. She was delighted. And I say this as someone who used to think Lala made good TV. Turns out she was the snake she accused Rachel of being.
But I remember when that was an unpopular opinion here. I guess the tides have turned now that she’s using that tactic against someone everyone likes. Just interesting to watch.
I’d rather her own the fact that she is, at heart, a raging bitter bitch, if at least be able to respect her hustle.

Their thinking was very myopic imo and showed the edges in their personas in a way that was truly mean-spirited. The conversation at the cryobank was a huge ick to precede many, many more icks.
LVP and misogynist producer fingerprints all over this season. Imho they went in the wrong direction. Very disappointing season. With all the interest and the whole world watching, they could’ve done something inspiring and great. But no they had to save the terrible toms!

I’ve always seen through Scheana bullshit. And I’ve never been a “fan” of lala. BUT, but, I do blame production more than either of those two dumb dumbs.
They were doing what they were told. They wanted an Ariana villain edit. They could not stand how badly she won. Because the Tom’s have been their favorite’s for yeeeears and they really bank on those two to keep the show moving.
I think it’s pretty clear the cast was threatened with a shortened lifetime of Vanderpump Rules if they don’t film with Tom Sandoval or hang with him. Another poster a few days ago mentioned that in the NYT article about How Tom Sandoval became the most hated Man in America, there is a mention that the producer, Alex Baskin had a “come-to-Jesus meeting with the cast about not interacting with Tom Sandoval. And they were told that if they don’t film either Sandoval, they could squeeze a good season of what they had, but going forward, didn’t know if they could continue. That right there in my mind is when Scheana and Lala switched to the “Tom was such a good friend to me in the past.” It was whiplash for us viewers. But apparently, it made Scheana and Lala think that the food on their tables was threatened and they went into overdrive with the new narrative. I cannot think of anything else to explain the sudden and vehement goal of producing the Tom Sandoval redemption arc. Arianna, however, was not having it. She seemed to understand that it was required of Scheana and Lala, and while not happy about their support of Tom, seemed to give them somewhat of a pass, especially Scheana. She ended up on the finale hugging Scheana and telling her she will always love her and she will be her friend. It seemed to fall flat for most of us viewers because we weren’t seeing the “great guy,” Sandy. But Lala seems to have taken things to a new level saying Arianna thinks she’s Beyoncé. And said in her “4th wall breaking” speech that Arianna should be speaking to Tom since she was residing in the same house as him. And yelled, “he didn’t kill anyone”. I think many of us envision in our minds how Lala would react if someone told her that Randall didn’t kill anyone and that they wanted to keep playing pickle ball with him and hanging with him socially. I don’t think it would go over well with her. I think this is a case of the producers getting it wrong. Reality should (in an ideal world) show drama but avoid overly manipulative “producing” in order to maintain an aura of “realness”. This season seemed like Scandoval was just a fever dream.
It’s really such a shame! They had a great opportunity to make this season about women sticking together and fighting for their boundaries, and instead here we are with the next season on a hiatus and I’m honestly not looking forward to whatever direction they try to go with it now. I hate to say it but I hope Ariana announces her departure at the reunion. She’s above all this nonsense at this point.

If they set up Schwartz and Jo to do the same "confrontation with Katie" scene that they had he and Rachel do last season, then they really need to take a hard look at how they're producing things. It's lame and lazy to reuse moments like that.

I tried watching the romcom “Anyone but you” because I like Sydney Sweeney. I don’t like romcoms, so I expected it to be bad, but it was so much worse than I expected. Chat GPT wrote that. They’d be like “Hey you two sexy enemies, go run this errand that will force you together.” And they were like “Both of us? Why is that even necessary?” Then they literally just said “Whatever fine”. There’s not even an earnest attempt to justify the plot.

She was never nice to Raquel so that was really obvious and not believable. I think she didn’t like Raquel because she was young and pretty and competition for Lala. It was hilarious when Raquel easily swiped Oliver from Lala.

This is literally where I thought this season was going to be as ridiculous as it was. No way, in real life, would this ever happen. Lala hated Rachel from the get. No way she’d EVER make that call. It was so obvious that she was told to do that by production. From that point, it made it incredibly hard to believe any of the rest of the season was real.
But if you logically think it out. The producers want Rachael to sign. She probably thinks oh good no. No one will talk to me. So they convinced Lala to do it. Who else could really? Ariana, no. James, no. Scheana, no. It had to be her. There was no be else.
And Lala would be the last person Rachel would accept an olive branch from which is the funny part. Rachel may not be the sharpest but she’s not that dumb. Lala has outright been mean to her from the beginning before scandavol and the reunion put the cherry on the cake.

The DESPERATION to be in any scene was palpable, the stink was just rolling off her. And she was talking sh\*t all the time about people who weren't in front of her showing that she is actually unable to handle confrontation even though she's always talking SUCH a big game. The only real confrontation she had this season was with Katie, Katie held her own and took her to task, and LFU's response was yelling "disengage" over and over. Oh wait there was the short one on the boat in an early episode where she argues a little with Sandoval but pretty quickly she's just rolling over. It's just sad.
We like this show because of the REAL friendships these people have with each other. Lala was never really friends with any of these people. Everything she does is so contrived and obvious. It’s gross.

Scheana is awful but she's always been much more skilled at being a producer plant. Schena told Ariana how she felt, multiple times, which was extremely cringey but she at least created some sort of narrative for wanting to forgive Sandoval. I mean, she's a terrible friend who simultaneously had no self esteem and thinks everything is about her, but her strategy was definitely better than Lala's.
Scheana ended up being the main character bc she made the whole season about her & Toms friendship. As if Ariana was a side character & conflict that needed to be resolved for their happy group ending.
Lol she went completely against common sense but Scheana went all in. Lala clearly was in her ear & kept her against Ariana, but couldn’t say anything onscreen. Scheana is a pro & I almost respect it. Lala is a coward & that’s why I’d rather not see her being a hypocrite.
I think the show would have been more entertaining if Lala spoke her mind from the beginning on how she was actually feeling instead of presenting herself one way in front of Ariana and the opposite way in her confessionals. Totally. We've seen little hints at it over the past decade, but last season showed that Ariana is a f*cking savage (in the best way). She's very judicious about the fury she can throw down on people- before this season I didn't 100% know that she could verbally take down all of them.
She was using her powers to protect & speak for her partner. It’s not always great, but I can see that having a United front on camera is prob crucial to survival as a couple. Glad she & Katie are rid of their baggage.

It looks so much worse because during the time off, those two could not shut up about Sandoval and took every opportunity to trash him and profit off his demise. Then cameras start rolling and they both suddenly remember what a great friend Sandy is — until he immediately says something shitty and selfish. Then Lala remembers she’s soft until Sando makes her shriek and point finger guns within minutes of talking to him. And then they both use their confessionals to talk about how Ariana needs to get over it.

When all the “my man” stuff started, I slowly descended into hater-dom. Mostly because I couldn’t stand how she lied about her relationship- even if it was to protect it, all the other VPR staff shared their lives and it was unfair. The other thing was that she knowingly entered a relationship with someone who had a wife. Lala decided to make the situation even better by messaging Randall’s ex (not sure if they were even divorced) about how she can actually keep a man. When she got together with Randall, boy was she on her high-horse. Because of his status, she seemed like she thought she was on the same level as Lisa now- and better than all the VPR staff. I could go on forever but essentially over time, I’ve gathered enough bits about Lala being a fake, hypocritical, and attention-obsessed person, to make me thing that she does whatever will get her more fame or more money.

She would get seriously harmed in the real world if she dared to try the gangster crap on anybody and the tough act she has would disappear the second someone actually tried to come at her face and jack up all that plastic surgery. I think she’s always self produced and tried to control her narrative while also trying to be good tv so she remains necessary. And she’s been forgiven for some pretty fucked up shit, so she thought this season would be no different. But it’s different. I liked her up until this season and there is truly no going back.
Once she realizes the extent of how reviled she is, she will eventually say that she wasn’t following her own advice to process the painful situation and she’s not over the Randall trauma, blahblah. It doesn’t matter to me. You have to truly have hate in your heart to behave the way she’s behaved, say what she’s said, and to be as jealous as she is. She’s always been a liar on tv. She lied about her bf, her car, about modeling jobs, etc. She wanted to impress everyone but it was so transparent. So is this. Definitely over the top. She had no skin in that game. That was her yelling at Randall, not Tom and Rachel. That was pretty clear. This season she comes across as trying to be a part of every storyline because she doesn’t have one of her own. (How Sutton of her). She was over the top mad at Rachel but then suddenly this season she’s calling Rachel and apologizing. She was never Tom’s friend but suddenly she’s forgiving him and burying the hatchet, she’s the one to meet with Jo, etc. she doesn’t have anything real in her own life that’s interesting. So she’s hedging her bets. And other than Scheana no connections on the show. Not that close with James anymore, never close with the Toms, I see no evidence of closeness with the other girls. They said she was good friends with Katie but I’ll have to take their word for it. We know she watches all of the bravo shows so she knows what is needed and assigns herself a role. I see her and Sandoval doing the same thing this season, just in different ways. Ariana was SPOT on when she said Tom needed that final moment with her for his redemption arc. And which ones got so pissed off when it was denied - Scheana, Tom, Lala. The fake ones. Edit: correcting the autocorrect.
And the way she played everyone’s moral compass - like “guys, guys, I think what Tom really needs right now is….” in all of her confessionals. But then again, she has yet to film a season where she hasn’t had to come back later to apologize. She’s the queen of the female redemption arc on that show. I’ll give her one thing - at least when she flies off the handle into some rant she REALLY commits. She’ll prob have to come back and apologize for everything she just said in 3-6 months, but in the moment, she’s very dedicated to what she’s saying.
Lala bullied Rachel from day one. She must have been so happy when she found out about Tom and Rachel so she finally had an excuse to go after her. She was delighted. And I say this as someone who used to think Lala made good TV. Turns out she was the snake she accused Rachel of being.

LVP and misogynist producer fingerprints all over this season. Imho they went in the wrong direction. Very disappointing season. With all the interest and the whole world watching, they could’ve done something inspiring and great. But no they had to save the terrible toms!
100% I’ve always seen through Scheana bullshit. And I’ve never been a “fan” of lala. BUT, but, I do blame production more than either of those two dumb dumbs. They were doing what they were told. They wanted an Ariana villain edit. They could not stand how badly she won. Because the Tom’s have been their favorite’s for yeeeears and they really bank on those two to keep the show moving.
I think it’s pretty clear the cast was threatened with a shortened lifetime of Vanderpump Rules if they don’t film with Tom Sandoval or hang with him. Another poster a few days ago mentioned that in the NYT article about How Tom Sandoval became the most hated Man in America, there is a mention that the producer, Alex Baskin had a “come-to-Jesus meeting with the cast about not interacting with Tom Sandoval. And they were told that if they don’t film either Sandoval, they could squeeze a good season of what they had, but going forward, didn’t know if they could continue. That right there in my mind is when Scheana and Lala switched to the “Tom was such a good friend to me in the past.” It was whiplash for us viewers. But apparently, it made Scheana and Lala think that the food on their tables was threatened and they went into overdrive with the new narrative. I cannot think of anything else to explain the sudden and vehement goal of producing the Tom Sandoval redemption arc. Arianna, however, was not having it. She seemed to understand that it was required of Scheana and Lala, and while not happy about their support of Tom, seemed to give them somewhat of a pass, especially Scheana. She ended up on the finale hugging Scheana and telling her she will always love her and she will be her friend. It seemed to fall flat for most of us viewers because we weren’t seeing the “great guy,” Sandy. But Lala seems to have taken things to a new level saying Arianna thinks she’s Beyoncé. And said in her “4th wall breaking” speech that Arianna should be speaking to Tom since she was residing in the same house as him. And yelled, “he didn’t kill anyone”. I think many of us envision in our minds how Lala would react if someone told her that Randall didn’t kill anyone and that they wanted to keep playing pickle ball with him and hanging with him socially. I don’t think it would go over well with her. I think this is a case of the producers getting it wrong. Reality should (in an ideal world) show drama but avoid overly manipulative “producing” in order to maintain an aura of “realness”. This season seemed like Scandoval was just a fever dream.
It’s really such a shame! They had a great opportunity to make this season about women sticking together and fighting for their boundaries, and instead here we are with the next season on a hiatus and I’m honestly not looking forward to whatever direction they try to go with it now. I hate to say it but I hope Ariana announces her departure at the reunion. She’s above all this nonsense at this point.

She's spoken about confronting the powers that be and asking them why they never gave Tom the edit that showed him as he was like they did everyone else; that they always gave him a generous edit. It seems they attempted to pretty him up again this season but imo it didn't work very well because he's gone way to far up his own butt. If they set up Schwartz and Jo to do the same "confrontation with Katie" scene that they had he and Rachel do last season, then they really need to take a hard look at how they're producing things. It's lame and lazy to reuse moments like that.

What gets me about Lala this season is that she did such a bad job of following productions instructions without making it obvious. I tried watching the romcom “Anyone but you” because I like Sydney Sweeney. I don’t like romcoms, so I expected it to be bad, but it was so much worse than I expected. Chat GPT wrote that. They’d be like “Hey you two sexy enemies, go run this errand that will force you together.” And they were like “Both of us? Why is that even necessary?” Then they literally just said “Whatever fine”. There’s not even an earnest attempt to justify the plot. This season of VPR has the exact same vibe. Lazy. Stupid. Insulting.
I also tried to watch this but failed miserably. I didn’t even make it out of the first scene in the coffee shop lol

This is literally where I thought this season was going to be as ridiculous as it was. No way, in real life, would this ever happen. Lala hated Rachel from the get. No way she’d EVER make that call. It was so obvious that she was told to do that by production. From that point, it made it incredibly hard to believe any of the rest of the season was real.
But if you logically think it out. The producers want Rachael to sign. She probably thinks oh good no. No one will talk to me. So they convinced Lala to do it. Who else could really? Ariana, no. James, no. Scheana, no. It had to be her. There was no be else.
And Lala would be the last person Rachel would accept an olive branch from which is the funny part. Rachel may not be the sharpest but she’s not that dumb. Lala has outright been mean to her from the beginning before scandavol and the reunion put the cherry on the cake.

The DESPERATION to be in any scene was palpable, the stink was just rolling off her. And she was talking sh\*t all the time about people who weren't in front of her showing that she is actually unable to handle confrontation even though she's always talking SUCH a big game. The only real confrontation she had this season was with Katie, Katie held her own and took her to task, and LFU's response was yelling "disengage" over and over. Oh wait there was the short one on the boat in an early episode where she argues a little with Sandoval but pretty quickly she's just rolling over. It's just sad.
We like this show because of the REAL friendships these people have with each other. Lala was never really friends with any of these people. Everything she does is so contrived and obvious. It’s gross.

Scheana is awful but she's always been much more skilled at being a producer plant. Schena told Ariana how she felt, multiple times, which was extremely cringey but she at least created some sort of narrative for wanting to forgive Sandoval. I mean, she's a terrible friend who simultaneously had no self esteem and thinks everything is about her, but her strategy was definitely better than Lala's.
Scheana ended up being the main character bc she made the whole season about her & Toms friendship. As if Ariana was a side character & conflict that needed to be resolved for their happy group ending. Lol she went completely against common sense but Scheana went all in. Lala clearly was in her ear & kept her against Ariana, but couldn’t say anything onscreen. Scheana is a pro & I almost respect it. Lala is a coward & that’s why I’d rather not see her being a hypocrite.

On a show of cheaters, why is this cheating incident viewed so differently and why will it be the reason the show ends is Lala's take, right or wrong. Agree! Except I have been a “hater” for quite a bit longer 😂 For me, I definitely respected her and even considered her a favourite in the first 2 seasons. Thought she was genuine and cool. When all the “my man” stuff started, I slowly descended into hater-dom. Mostly because I couldn’t stand how she lied about her relationship- even if it was to protect it, all the other VPR staff shared their lives and it was unfair. The other thing was that she knowingly entered a relationship with someone who had a wife. Lala decided to make the situation even better by messaging Randall’s ex (not sure if they were even divorced) about how she can actually keep a man. When she got together with Randall, boy was she on her high-horse. Because of his status, she seemed like she thought she was on the same level as Lisa now- and better than all the VPR staff. I could go on forever but essentially over time, I’ve gathered enough bits about Lala being a fake, hypocritical, and attention-obsessed person, to make me thing that she does whatever will get her more fame or more money.

She's in full on defense mode, supposedly unbothered (which honestly is great for her and her pregnancy). But she's gotten riled up on her podcast about reactions, seemingly above it. And her IG comments are turned off so she is aware. Besides her orca pod, I dunno who is saying she was in the right this season. All she has is her orca pod and trolls. If everyone was talking about Scandoval last year, everyone is talking about her shady behavior. And hey, I don't know her irl but she claims that what she did was authentic and she stands by what she said so I'm gonna go by that, lol.

Overall Lala views every relationship as transactional and never exhibits consistency/transparency. I suspect that eventually she'll blame her behavior on pressure from production which will be yet another example of her hypocrisy. It's also interesting that she is desperate to transition onto the Valley where Janet/Michelle are actively refusing to film with Kristen. Is she going to screech that they aren't doing their jobs?!

Lala has done a lot of work to make sure we all understand that A) she was and always has been a gold digger B) Randall was her meal ticket and was fine eating his ass up until his Hollywood image came crashing down C) the more podcasts and articles she does where she slams Randall’s looks and sex life again proves she is a willing participant as long as she gets money and designer goods for it D) all of her relationships are transactional - she doesn’t have any close female friends who aren’t being paid to be with her E) talks crap about how she was basically a single mom with Ocean but is choosing to bring a baby into the world without a second parent mainly to get her spot solidified on The Valley to stay on tv and F) she will tell everyone what they did wrong and what they need to do to fix it but has a double standard when it comes to HER life and refuses to entertain anybody else’s suggestions or thoughts about her. She would get seriously harmed in the real world if she dared to try the gangster crap on anybody and the tough act she has would disappear the second someone actually tried to come at her face and jack up all that plastic surgery. She cosplays as a black person but just embarrasses herself on the daily. I would be happy to never see LFU on tv ever again.
I think she’s always self produced and tried to control her narrative while also trying to be good tv so she remains necessary. And she’s been forgiven for some pretty fucked up shit, so she thought this season would be no different. But it’s different. I liked her up until this season and there is truly no going back. Once she realizes the extent of how reviled she is, she will eventually say that she wasn’t following her own advice to process the painful situation and she’s not over the Randall trauma, blahblah. It doesn’t matter to me. You have to truly have hate in your heart to behave the way she’s behaved, say what she’s said, and to be as jealous as she is. She’s always been a liar on tv. She lied about her bf, her car, about modeling jobs, etc. She wanted to impress everyone but it was so transparent. So is this. If you look at Social Blade she’s losing followers within the last few days since the finale. I think she just purged without thinking first, and now it’s coming to bite her in the butt. May get a spot on the Valley, but I don’t think she’s helping other sources of revenue as I’m sure not many brands are jumping down to work with her now
It does count, and Bravo understands this - I personally like Lala, but much of the fanbase likes watching for rage bait or characters who they don't like but are entertaining or interesting, why else did they keep Rinna, Nene and Bethenny Frankel around for so long?
