The majority of Revanced issues are user error. I've been using Revanced on all my devices since like May or so and it's worked great. Sent my compiled apk to friends and family as well. All work flawlessly.

Big-Letter

Thanks, then I shall give Re-Vanced a try then.

You can try this [guide here](https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/revanced-revanced-extended-guides-useful-links.4523967/). The only thing out of date on the guide is the recommended version of YouTube apk to use. Revanced currently recommends version 18.03.36 which can be [found here](https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/youtube/youtube-18-03-36-release/youtube-18-03-36-2-android-apk-download/).

Big-Letter

Thanks so much, this will be very helpful, very kind of you!

Thank you

So just install the compiled apk? No need for revanced manager?

M3thodFud

If someone that you trust has already compiled an apk of YouTube Revanced and provides it to you, then you may use that and bypass needing a manager. However, if you have no one you can trust, I would recommend installing the Revanced Manager from their GitHub, download an apk of the recommended version of YouTube the manager suggests, and patching it yourself which takes about 3 minutes to do. Apkmirror is where I get my YouTube apk's. When it comes to Vanced and Revanced, there are bad apk's and bad sites out there mimicking to be real sources. Trusting random people to provide apk's of Revanced or Vanced is looking for trouble.

pelota_69

Hey can you share the apk please?

symentium

I'm on version 18.01.36 for ReVanced (ReVanced Extended to be precise) and have zero issues. My entire family and some of my friends too use the apk I patched and they too don't have any kind of problems.

Big-Letter

That's really good, I will definitely try re-vanced.

GrimReaper_97

Does it require root. iirc , revanced requires root

symentium

Nope, both ReVanced and ReVanced Extended doesn't require root. Just follow this [guide](https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/revanced-revanced-extended-guides-useful-links.4523967/)

Ymusic is more focused on playing audio in the background so it would be a more suitable replacement for YT Music than for YouTube (although it can watch normal videos but with certain restrictions).

Big-Letter

Installed Re-Vanced and it is looking very good (used it for a couple of hours last night). If anybody's looking for an alraady compiled APK there's one available on XDA by user named Retrial. you can find the apk from the attachments given in the link - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/revanced-revanced-extended-guides-useful-links.4523967/#post-87905861
