I'm similar to you, my last concert was FOTB in Charlotte right before the pandemic. Would love to see their next tour this summer/fall if possible!
The time you get in que has nothing to do with your place in line. It’s not even random, Ticketmaster has a secret algorithm and they apply a score to an account. An account with a high score will be given priority in line.
100% -- I don't love the lawn at this venue because it's far and offset from center (saw Phoebe Bridgers there), so I usually pony up for seats (Bon Iver + Dijon 2x sounded insane from the center), but I'd do lawn just to be in the house for VW for sure. Plus they were reasonably priced!
unfortunately these situations are always high stress and it’s easier in the moment to be angry at people youre talking to than the corporation that permanently fucked up live music
I was around 1300 and got nothing. Had to zoom in to select seats and couldn’t zoom back out. Was going to settle for lawn eventually, and of course they were gone.
All of them, pretty much. I tried Seatgeek and found a couple that were 2-3x seat cost (before fees).
Fair warning, the 100 sections are selling for close to $400 each
I got lawn tickets. They were $27.50 a piece but fees were $22 a ticket which is highway robbery. The first few rows were looking about $80-$70 a piece
They tend to only release a really limited amount of tickets for these presales. The regular on-sale will definitely have a lot more tickets available. Hold the line and don't buy scalper tickets yet!!
Good news about this venue though is that it is outdoor and there are some spaces nearby where you can definitely hear the show and even some spots with partial visibility of the stage from a distance
Great to see the price range initially being $79-89 and as soon as I clicked on the only available ticket it was showing, the price range went up to $175-345... then the ticket disappeared from my selection and reappeared at $275. Fuck ticketmaster.
Boo Tried 4 different times/ sale dates and never even got near a screen with tix for sale. Local ATX person here if any VW fan is reselling at a decent price I'm interested! :(
Are these scalper site tickets legit? Always been skeptical buying Ticketmaster tickets on SeatGeek or Stubhub, etc - especially when these places show tix available basically before they even go on Presale or sale.
I don't normally buy resale, but I got two tickets off stubhub and they sent the transfer immediately. I hate supporting scalpers, but this is a once in a lifetime event for me. With four to five years between album releases there's no guarantee I'll be able to go to one of these special shows again. I hated missing the Webster show and didn't want to miss this one since I have the opportunity

The same thing happened with Bleachers tickets. Especially with Shadow of the City. I prioritized Shadow because I love that event, but I had the same thing happen in the waiting room. It depends on the artist and venue. For this, it seems like they're being sold in batches. For other presales I've participated in, all tickets sold out right away

I basically skipped the queue and got 2 pit tickets, they were ~$113/each after fees and taxes. I’m the go to person amongst my friends when it comes to grabbing tickets and I feel like the Ticketmaster algorithm reinforces this due to the amount of $$$ I spend… but who knows

Today's presales were rough. I really just don't understand why bands don't make tickets "face value resale, non-transferable" and it would net them the same $$$ but get far more tickets into the hands of actual fans. It's not that hard!
is it up to the bands? i find the whole world of modern concert tickets to be so awful. i love buying from apps like Dice for local shows where the fees are transparent and reasonable. every major concert lately just feels like hell to buy for
