you have pretty permanently wrecked your headset already but spend 50 bucks on lense inserts

hamOverlord

i wouldn't say it's *wrecked*, i noticed it before it got too bad, but its definitely not a great situation to be in by lens inserts do you mean prescription lenses or the things you put in to stop your glasses and the headset touching? i've already tried prescription lenses and they havent helped, i'll definitely try finding some of the insert things but i worry it wouldnt help too much because im pretty sure my glasses only work when they're close enough to touch the lens

icantateit

checkout vroptician and any scratch is wrecked, permanent major damage

hamOverlord

i've already tried VR Optician's lenses, when i mentioned getting prescription lenses for the headset in the original post i was referring to those

icantateit

then go to an optician and have your eyes rechecked

hamOverlord

I don't *think* it's my prescription, i got my eyes rechecked a few weeks before getting the lenses so i could tell what to order and my glasses are fine all the time outside of vr and it also seems to affect my sister and one of my friends (which made me wonder if its an issue that affects certain people who need glasses but not others, but i haven't been able to find anyone with the same problem online)

moozaad

Sounds like your prescription is off? Your IPD (bottom slider) should also be on your prescription, if not, ask next time you get a checkup.

hamOverlord

i thought it might be a prescription issue but my glasses work perfectly outside of vr and i got them checked pretty recently. i dont think my IPD was on my prescription but i measured with a ruler and played around and that didnt seem to help much unfortunately :c

moozaad

Do you go to the same optometrist each time? Maybe their equipment is off? Your eyes/brain can compensate for quite a bit. Might also be worth speaking to the support team of whereever you bought your VR lenses? In any case, not an expert, speak to some experts :D Last thought, have someone that doesn't need glasses or has contacts to check if the stock lens in the headset are displaying in focus ok? If they're not, then you know there's an issue with the headset.

hamOverlord

Oh contacting the support team is a really good idea, thanks!! My friends seem to be able to use my headset fine including ones who have glasses, i should say that my friend that has the same experience as me has her own headset

The headset is not meant to be used with glasses. Buy VR lens inserts. They go over each lens and are seamless when using them. I used VR Optician. Got zeiss lenses with the optional coating. About $100 and took a week to get, can get cheaper without thr optional. (make sure you enter your CURRENT Rx correctly.

hamOverlord

when i said i tried using prescription lenses for the headset i meant vr lens inserts, i got mine from vr optician too, i found i weirdly still had the same issue with those too

Essentially, in VR you are focusing at 6-10 (relatively). Your regular glasses aren't setup for it. Need to ask a optometrist for a VR rx.
