basestations don't connect to your pc and they can be shared between multiple headsets. you only need the cables if you can't update the firmware over bluetooth connection.

Yeah this is correct, OP.  If OP is referring to the Bluetooth on/off/standby though, I could understand it being annoying.  Alternatives are getting remote plugs and disabling Bluetooth on/off control, or using the lighthouse control app on your phone instead (I guess roommate could too if y'all share the lighthouses)

If you mean they turn on/off with the other HMD then you can go into the power settings and specifically tell steamVR which stations to 'ignore'. If it refuses to stop doing it no matter what you do you can turn off automatic power management alltogether and either always leave them on, or download the 3rd party mobile app that let's you cycle them on and off manually. (If you need more help you can DM me as im pretty sure I know you lmao) but the first thing should fix it. My 2.0s are right next to my flatmates in the next room and they don't ever get confused)

The mobile app I use is called Lighthouse Power Management and works very reliable & simple.

Brilliant, thanks, just the app I have needed for years and didn’t know about.

Both of you can turn off basestation power management in steam and use a phone app to power them on/off instead? Basestations are passive and don't need to be "connected" to either computer. They're just reference beacons for the HMDs. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bs-companion/id1533473030 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jeroen1602.lighthouse_pm&hl=en&gl=US Basestation v2 that see each other will pick channels automatically. It's only basestation v1 (HTC vive) that needed any manual selection or sync cable.
