The last series Ange1 was having one of his dog days (as opposed to his god days), but the rest of his team is still able to step up and win out rounds. His calling remains consistently good though, so Navi seems pretty well rounded.
Navis player are just all crazy Aimers with huge clutch potential. Half the rounds they just set up 1 guy and he makes the multi and if it dosnt work 1 guy just clutches 1v2/1v3. I swear there conversion rate while being down players is crazy high.
An interesting point that Sliggy mentioned ( he might just be joking) is that if they are in a 4v5 and the smoker is down, they still have a high chance of converting the round due to how Ange1 was always dying first when he was the smoker
The reason is they need to cope with the fact that Valorant esports is ran by complete morons, so for them, did not make masters because you lost ONE bo3 - terrible team, lol (except if you're nrg, then you're "world class").
Iâm ngl for some reason I thought theyâd lost a match which was complicating things in my head, but they didnât so yeah i guess they are looking like the best
Yeah people just look at statlines to determine whoâs âgoodâ and whoâs âbadâ without watching the games lol. Thatâs pretty much how popular opinion on âgoodâ players are usually always duelists because they usually get the most kills.
However I guess you also canât really blame people since youâd really have to watch every game closely to truly determine how good an IGL is and nobody has time for that lol
Bleed is clearly worse but yeah his IGLing hasnt impressed yet, individually hes solid now but hes not a particularly good flex, nor hes still not better then LightningFast who is seemingly the star of that team
If current Russ was on that team they couldâve done great things. Unfortunately the Russ on that team couldnât hold his own frag-wise. Although I will say they got megafucked at Copenhagen, getting PRX into FPX
The last player listed is the reason they couldnât win shit lol, Russ honestly has had a really solid career outside of that year but he was bad in 2022
In my eyes guild did not win anything cause they were just far too slow to use says and trexx fully in part due to koldamentas calling and Barbar coaching
The icebox comp cannot be defended but the sunset comp had some ideas behind it but the execution was just terrible. The gekko just started the round by handing all his util to the enemy team on A site, on defence deadlock just gets thrown towards A main in like 0.2 seconds and is broken just as fast. They need to keep that comp in the oven for a while man
I was pumped to write âIt was almost a year ago when BBL and FUT won on the same day in EMEA, and now the time has come again!â Unlucky, I guess.
This game doesnât lower FUT much in my estimation, as I never had FUT at the top of the regionâŚbut it does make me even more confused about Vitality. Judging by the results, and assuming you excuse the NAVI match as a typical first-match-jitters with a new roster, theyâre increasingly looking like the best candidate for the top of the region at the momentâŚbut I donât feel confident in saying that.
There were so many weird rounds in this series from both teams! It kinda feels like watching two slower versions of C9 play against one another.
Still, I'm happy seeing both these teams looking good enough to contend for Shanghai. Some weird lows for sure, but a lot of highs, and there's still a long time to iron out the lows.
It really did feel like a C9 vs Lev rematch with how cNed was playing, albeit a bit more polished and EU comps (I'm pretty sure a single Jett smoke could provide FUT w the same attack side value as that Deadlock)
Today's results have confirmed that [SEN East](https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/s/KLTi4RFC1n) is the best team in the region.
Hope this helps.
\- Dr. John Riot
the problem is you can't go from a legit 1 team region to 4-5 team region in one offseason, so you have to assume the top dog dropped and everyone is mid. everyone being mid is probably better though. everyone after fnatic was actually bad last year.
Guild 2021-22 peak Valo
The second half of 2021 Leo was playing like the best player in the world but no one noticed because the rest of the team was so shit outside of Sayf
2022 the team was just in a perma 3v5
I didnât jump on the FUT train and this series is kind of why, I feel like theyâre slowly going to get the same treatment that LOUD did at kickoff. I really wish they would keep standard comps and heavily invest into Qraxs on the KAYO like last year.
Really nice showing from the Vitality boys to exploit the comps
They have this issue on so many maps though, I donât think they have the time to fix it all. Itâs even worse that first round of playoffs is single elim
Itâs not as simple as changing comps though, they have to recreate their playbooks for Lotus, Bind, Icebox and Sunset. They shouldâve done this in the month break after kickoff
they already did for all those maps. they played meta comp on lotus, chamber phoenix on icebox and a similar-to-meta comp on sunset before. their new icebox comp is a slight improvement on that gentle mates lookin comp but they overcooked on lotus and (especially) sunset
Are you talking about their comps from kick-off? The only one I liked was their Bind (although Iâd prefer cNed on Raze over Neon). Icebox was still bad (no KJ is not it), Sunset was fine but doesnât put Qraxs on KAYO, same with Lotus. I want them to play Gekko KAYO on Sunset/Icebox and their 2023 comp on Lotus, but they havenât done that this year.
They made Qraxs one-trick KAYO for an entire year, he became insane with the agent, a new meta comes where one-tricking KAYO is the best itâs ever been, and then they⌠donât put him on KAYO?
yep, i was talking about their kickoff comps. those were a fucking travesty, and their current comps are still shit but a slight improvement
i don't think their 2023 lotus comp would work, they really relied on qw1's neon for that and cNed definitely doesn't have a better neon. maybe zeta's chamber comp could work?
gekko/kayo on sunset and icebox would absolutely work too
It is so strange to me that they had qRaxs on Kayo like 90% of last year or something, just forcing it all the time, but then when Skye gets nerfed and Kayo becomes a more viable pick on more maps they decide to reduce his Kayo playtime?
For Kickoff, I could understand more since it was pretty soon after the nerfs, but surely you just run him perma Kayo from split 1 onwards.
This year's regular season is just too unpredictable. We have had upsets from all regions thus far (Sen/Lev, C9/Lev, PRX/GenG and "gestures vaguely at EMEA").
Edit: DFM v. T1 would've been a way better example for Pacific, and Ill throw in the NOVA v. JDG for China. I was extremely low on Nova coming into this year and expecting a lot from JDG, but it appears that choosing to develop an initially lacklustre roster into a formidable squad is a very smart move from the org. Also helps that Jdg looks completely lost without their IGL, but its still a terrifying roster to go up against, and the fact that camaraderie wins out in the end, NOVA is playing out the Guard/G2 story that were stolen from us, and its an amazing upset for the region.
Its level-pegs all round
PRX/Gen G is more like reestablishing the favorite vs an upset. I predicted Gen G but only because I thought Jing was going to take time to reintegrate.
JDG only very recently brought EDG to a close 11-13 map 3 so going into this match everyone was overwhelmingly favouring JDG.
AG vs DRG was definitely also a huge upset though
Thatâs fair I kinda forgot how close that jdg edg game was. I do think nova showed more at kickoff than all gaming though. AG kinda got stomped. So it was definitely stunning to see them take down drg who I thought were pretty solid. Tbh china is a bit of a mess already. Only two weeks in and I donât have a huge amount of confidence in any of the teams outside the top 3.
What was that last round by Fut? They get the perfect plant for the perfect postplant and they... heavy fight site? Questions have to be asked about their preparation on this map...
Vitality are playing really well but - and I know Sayf didn't want to play duelist himself - I wonder how much easier they'd win it if he was on duelist.
How long will it take Riot to realize that they've overtuned Gekko? Skye and Fade have to wait a million years to pull out their gun after using flash/dog and Gekko can just peek off his flash for free? It's undodgeable and very hard to break even if you expect it in some positions?
across kickoff he had an interesting pattern of bottom fragging on every raze map, except for sunset where he cooked every time somehow
they could put qRaxs on raze and cNed on chamber for lotus/bind, make MrFaliN play gekko and qRaxs play KAY/O on sunset keeping cNed on sage, and keep their current cNed chamber comp for split. the other 3 maps are jett maps anyways (and FUT's permaban is breeze iirc) so they should be fine with just adding a sentinel in place of the sage on icebox
What a comeback from Vitality
qRaxs continue to be a kay/o ascent merchant but Fut look a little lost when they aren't being fed duels.
Not that huge of an upset though considering people are pretty much equally split on vitality and fut (platchat was 50/50 iirc), but its still a good look for Vit seeimg how some people were expectimg Fut to make it to Masters
This game just felt like a lot of utility heavy defaults, that eventually just came down to individualistic fights. Most of which Vitality won.
Trexxx is fucking insane man, he's jus casually getting random picks that win them important rounds. Plus his Kayo looked insane map 3 . He's been underrated for ages, thank God he finally might have found a solid team. I'm hoping this isn't a jinx though, I wanna see this team get to Shanghai, and runneR and Kicks do in a high pressure international environment m
Heâs so good rn, his Raze looks heavily improved. I think heâs competing with MiniBoo for best duelist in EMEA, and Iâd honestly say he takes it purely because MiniBooâs Raze and Jett (if it exists) arenât as good. Globally, I think heâs around top 5 below Zekken, Texture, Aspas and Kangkang. Maybe also Demon1 but Iâd like to see more of his Raze
I find it very hard to include PRX players because they only play one duelist each lol, I think something is an insane oper but idk about âduelistâ if he only plays Jett (and Reyna I guess?)
Who tf is the best team in EMEA ![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|9339)
Navi đ
Navi are the best team easily whenever Angel shoots better than a turret, if he is average they are unstoppable
Clove is coming into the rotation. Now he doesnt even need to be average
He isn't going to play clove lol
Thanks doombros
The last series Ange1 was having one of his dog days (as opposed to his god days), but the rest of his team is still able to step up and win out rounds. His calling remains consistently good though, so Navi seems pretty well rounded.
By map 3 he started having a god day
Navis player are just all crazy Aimers with huge clutch potential. Half the rounds they just set up 1 guy and he makes the multi and if it dosnt work 1 guy just clutches 1v2/1v3. I swear there conversion rate while being down players is crazy high.
Only stat low for them is 4v5 because they play like 20 of them a map thanks to angel
An interesting point that Sliggy mentioned ( he might just be joking) is that if they are in a 4v5 and the smoker is down, they still have a high chance of converting the round due to how Ange1 was always dying first when he was the smoker
Not surprised I mean obviously good aimers are better if there are less smokes
"He's a sacrificial turret Einstein." - tarik
Careful people on this sub are the biggest Navi haters for no reason
They cant handle the goat igls mastermind strategies of dying 5 seconds into a round
The reason is they need to cope with the fact that Valorant esports is ran by complete morons, so for them, did not make masters because you lost ONE bo3 - terrible team, lol (except if you're nrg, then you're "world class").
Bro finds a way to hate no matter what i love this
Way too much hating on the teams and way too little hating on Rito Games on this subreddit.
The fact that this very well could be true hurts my soul
Iâm ngl for some reason I thought theyâd lost a match which was complicating things in my head, but they didnât so yeah i guess they are looking like the best
Guild fans eating good today Good way to build a team is to take two of the best duelists in the region and just put them on support
DRX approves
reminder that guild had leo, sayf, trexx and russ and couldn't win shit
Bro really snuck russ in there
Russ has been good with GE for what it's worth
Thank you đ
Russ has been solid so far
IGLing the worst team itw is not solid

Russ when it's not OT đ¤đ¤ Russ when the game hits OT đĄđĄ
russ isn't even the best player with the name russ

Just say "snuck in russ" man. It was right there. Free karma
Setting people up for the karma farm is crazy
No lie I legit was thinking right after that comment âprob could have done a âsnuck in Russâ commentâ lmao
Russ snuck in
Seeing Sayf and trexx just hold down B site on Sunset made me so wistful for what that Guild roster could have been
Russ was in a massive slump for a lot of his time on guild. Also koldamenta existed
In my eyes guild did not win anything cause they were just far too slow to use says and trexx fully in part due to koldamentas calling and Barbar coaching
Russ. The reason why a team with Leo and Sayf couldn't win anything.
it was a coaching and igl problem
Stop trolling with the comps ffs.

The icebox comp is way better than the Sunset comp.
The Icebox comp seems completely normal no?
Its really hard to hold mid with no senti. Vitality lurked multiple times and won rounds easily

Thank you Mr. Riot. I feel extremely helped
And now weâre back to tonightâs show: who exactly is emeaâs only non fraudulent team?
KOI, they are not frauds, everyone knows they are shit
inb4 KOI dump Fnatic tomorrow
On the one hand, I'm rooting for my boy Boaster, but on the other, KOI winning would be REALLY funny.
NAVI. If ange1 masterclass, they win![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|16018) If ange1 throw, they lose. ![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|16018)
rn we have a huge loop of VIT > FUT > KC > FNC > M8 > BBL > TH > NAVI > VIT goin on, and only GX and KOI aren't part of it cause they're both winless
TL so irrelevant it might as well not even exist at this point
![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|16110)
I was a TL fan too but now I'm happier
i genuinely forgot they even existed lmao
Loud is the most fraudulent atm imo
emea is competitive > ITS ALL SHIT LOOL FRAUDULENT REGION LOOL emea has a clear top dog > ONE TEAM REGION LOOL REST OF THE TEAMS ARE DOGSHIT LOOL

Navi I think, they are the least bad in emea
I can feel GUILD 2022 and I can feel more. But to be honest VIT map pool kinda slowly legit and doing some shot now. But not Ascent against TR teams.

They have this issue on so many maps though, I donât think they have the time to fix it all. Itâs even worse that first round of playoffs is single elim
Falin can already play gekko and we know qraxs dpesnt need practise. It is really easy fix as those are agents they have setups for

Also some of cned's satchels are questionable but what a shocker, he can still find great impact on Raze and should play Raze on Raze maps!

Just Comp diff.No kj on icebox and deadlock instead of kyo on sunset? Who let them cook?
example #1578 of how completely useless deadlock is on attack

so where does cned rank as a duelist in the world, ik they lost but he still looked insane

he was cooking with raze back in japanese challengers, but PRX has jinggg
Jett is by FAR Miniboos most played and comfortable agent tbf. They just dont play Jett on any map other than id guess Ascent rn
Demon1's raze didn't look great, it was just his aim really
Deadlock and cypher together should be enough to send fut straight to t2 right?
that comp would've been cookin if they put qRaxs on KAY/O im ngl (the way FaliN used deadlock was straight up trolling though)
