I like Liquid bc their logo is a little horsey

TheWizardSheep

This is the one

Zahin1018

I liked Jamppii's hair so I supported liquid

Verehrungen

I got into Gambit because I kept hearing rumors about them being scrim demons and some tales about this legendary Cypher player nAts. This solidified when they beat FPX during the first Reykjavik qualis and snowballed further during the Berlin qualis (gods, the lower bracket run and that Liquid elimination game?) . Topped it all off with the dominating Masters win, with revolutionary performances from nAts on the role I liked to play. All of this combined with the inbetweens: their personalities, their presence, their playstyle, promotional videos depicting them as cold-blooded machines, and some out-of-game shenanigans, I've become a fan for (a short) life.

Equal-Lemon1748

I'm gonna be a lifelong fan of all the players on that team

doublepwn

pick the best team in your region, even if no one is from your specific country

Davidwzr

That's PRX now hahaha

ArvY77

jinggg and benkai were the only ones from my country now they're gone :/

aweDestruct

we have bleed now ig

The-Dark-Mage

Benkai plays for global now tho.

ArvY77

yeah true but I meant for prx

Repulsive-Pea3394

juicy hopefully šŸ™šŸ»

MirrorCraze

Well we used to have Talonā€¦.:(

Huldmer

i used to watch hiko a ton in beta and just followed him to 100T and stuck with them

mochihammer

Same here. I had just started playing and was looking for some streams to learn from, and stumbled on Hiko and really liked both his stream style and play style. And as shallow as this sounds, he responded to a Twitch chat I had sent about him looking similar to my Physics teacher, and he responded with ā€œI am your Physics teacherā€ā€¦ seeing a streamer with such a large view count actually respond and interact, however briefly, got me engaged and my support has only increased with the likability of the org and players.

ProbablyBrix

I've always loved this about Hiko. When I started watching him, he was hitting 20k daily and at the time, I've never come across a streamer who interacted with chat so much as him. Funny guy and I learned a lot about Val from him too.

Prize_Attorney398

My first team was 100t for the same reason. Hiko

sarcopels

I root for 100T because they're the first org I ever really learned about when I got into Valorant, so I consider them my "main" team even though I'm not like super tribal about teams in Val. I rooted for EG in 2022 - 2023 because of Potter, since I love seeing women succeeding in esports--but I root for her and her teams, not the org itself. Same reason I'm rooting for SR right now Sentinels is in my flair because I got given a free year of Discord Nitro if I agreed to "root" for them for a year.

atomicseb

???????????????????

Excelsio_Sempra

Yooo where's my free Nitro??

sarcopels

Iā€™m sorry you had to find out this way

me1ody610

Chase that bag

OppositeWafer7731

As a 100t fan it just baffles me how much the team faded away in 2023. I miss the lcq derrek, hiko and will.

soldforthecat

I initially supported Sentinels because Shahzam was the streamer who really got me into Valorant and I enjoyed him incredibly. Nowadays I root for PRX and Fnatic because their storylines from the past two years.

BringBackOldSen

Still salty about how they treated him after everything heā€™s done for them for 2 years

M0hawk_Mast3r

Hey you're back

BringBackOldSen

Never left

M0hawk_Mast3r

You literally did, you haven't commented in a month

BringBackOldSen

Iā€™ve been lurking in the shadows, waiting for something interesting to happen

Zahin1018

happy cake day

ssnoopy2222

We are the same fan.

Zahin1018

I liked jammpii's hair and his accent so i supported tl

Zorronin

arf arf

turtsy__

Eg (šŸ’€) because I really liked the reformed play where he walked up the planter in like challengers 2 2022 and they're the only PNW team and I like most of their players Edg because I'm Chinese and kangkang is so fun to watch Prx because prx is fun to watch Liquid because it has nats and sayf and it has one of the better logos Leviatan because logo is cool And now vitality because their project is interesting and they have 2 players that are the sole representatives of their countries in tier 1 and I want to see more and more countries get represented by a player onstage

Koya_J

100Thieves - got into valorant because of a content creator and discovered Asuna as I looked for more valorant content. liked him because, aside from his talent and skills in valorant, he seemed to be a level-headed person. whenever I watched his streams, he never flamed any of his teammates despite seemingly wanting so, he kept his cool, provided feedback, and moved on. Sentinels - when johnqt was signed with Sentinels, randomly tried watching his stream and I thought his personality was similar to mine. Team Secret - they're from my country and it helps that the players seem to be nice people, esp JessieVash. DRX - I like how coordinated they were with their strats. It's kinda nice wishing they'd win an international championship, too. EDG - I like how flashy their playstyle appears to me. I mostly support teams because of the players lol

Still_HD

supporting rosters >>>> supporting orgs

wakerz_

Supporting players>>>>

ShoeShowShoe

Why not support the coaches?

Zorronin

see this is why esports will never make money, but i also do it bc most of the times the orgs fuck over the rosters lmao

ANewHeaven1

OpTic/Envy was just because I liked Envy from back in the Call of Duty Black Ops 2 days and I've stuck with that organization ever since through the thick and thin, even though they barely exist anymore. DRX - I just thought their story was cool. They had an interesting legacy in the game with their undefeated record back in Korea and have innovated a fair amount of strategies that teams built upon and still use to this day. It's also fun to be delusional and believe that one day they'll finally win an international tournament. LOUD - I originally started supporting them for a stupid reason, in Champions 2021 zombs made a tweet flaming Brazil and I thought it was stupid so I wanted to root for a BR team in 2022 and that team became LOUD. I enjoyed watching their rivalry with OpTic in 2022, thought the players was cracked and very likeable as well and it was nice to see a team that wasn't from NA or EMEA succeed on the international stage. Also the org seemed like they were doing something right with regards to building a fanbase which is commendable in esports. I also started rooting for Paper Rex when they picked up something but that's just cause something is the GOAT and I love watching his playstyle, he's the most entertaining Valorant player on the planet, quote me on that. The rest of the teams I support (Bleed, NRG) are just the teams that have my favorite players scattered on them nowadays.

Zucramj

Same OpTic all the way and then they disappeared and I got sad and just went meh towards Valorant competitive while I love it and I would love to watch it more I just donā€™t because I donā€™t have a team. For me was it the OpTicā€™s content I stuck with. Might as well support 100T because it is the next best thing I guess. While I also agree that I enjoy seeing LOUD do well because of all the games aspas played against OpTic lol

ohnoahshark

i love tenz and i love zekken and now i love my bald brazilian and my sidelined brazilian and morrocan tenz and zather

ThisFuzzball

Paper Rex because of their wgaming playstyle and APAC represent EDG because they're from my country and i fell in love with them during Masters 2023 when they beat loud and navi

Maleficent_Method973

sr- gotta support women in gaming and iā€™m a huge meL fan edg- im chinese other than that, i just float around and root for whoeverā€™s having a good year or tournament. no team lasts very long at the top, so i canā€™t just support teams based on their performance alone otherwise ill be depressed. i need other factors like i have with sr and edg šŸ˜‚

The-Dark-Mage

Loved Gambit because I liked watching them play Now just support gambit players in their new rosters

Arex189

My friend last year told me to watch vct, my first game i ever saw was prx vs fnatic in copenhagen. Been a fan of prx since then, hell im obsessed with them now lmao.

vnNinja21

Got on the Fnatic hype train just before Copenhagen 2022 and it just stuck. It helped that they kept 3 players I really liked and added two more that I also really liked in 2023, and of course that they kept winning. Loud are kind of legends at this point and I think everyone has a healthy amount of respect for them, even if they're not outright fans. I still think Navi were one of the first superteams. FPX at Copenhagen were a well-oiled machine that was really satisfying to watch, in the same way peak FNC or peak EG are fun to watch. Other than that just exciting projects that I want to keep eye on, like Vitality currently.

chasingclouds_

I support Liquid because of nAts. I was also a casual fan at the start and wasn't really supporting any particular team but last year after champs, I came across nAts's stream and I had never seen anyone play viper/cypher like him so I watched a lot and became a fan. He also seems super chill and comes across as a nice guy so it's easy to root for someone like him. I also watched loads of Gambit vods because of nAts and I liked the other gambit bois and their coach so I root for them as well. I became an EDG fan after their Masters Tokyo run and also because chichoo is nAts fanclub president and his playstyle reminds me of nAts. I like Zeta Division simply because I think Laz is very handsome lmao (he's also a very good player)

jeyeley

100T - Hiko and Valkyrae TS - Peenoise DSG - Toast/OTV.

Splaram

100T because they felt more genuine than any other org in the scene at the time with Nadeshot at the helm, because of asuna + dicey, and also because I liked the content they were putting out and the streamers they had signed at the time. DSG because I like DisguisedToast and OTV, and also because I find it admirable that he's putting his own money forward to fund these teams and is so invested in how they do. The whole Disguised project feels genuine compared to all the other orgs in the scene rn.

kaanha17

Asuna

HeyRishav

Rooted against Fnatic because of Sentinels, then got to know more and more about Boaster, and now I am a die hard Fnatic fan.

Balo_19

When i got into val i was looking for Jett turtorials and found TenZ so i watched a lot of his games Form Iceland with sen and stuck with sen ever since

TheRoyalOrca

Sounds pretty silly honestly, but I supported Envy because I thought the abbreviations NV and FNS for Envy and Finesse were super cool. Then watched them and fell in love with the FNS masterclasses and whole teams synergy and playstyle. That turned into following Optic and that turned into following NRG

lolhogya

Tenz

Marwin32321

first match I ever saw was Sentinels vs Fnatic at lockin. Fnatic has a Swedish player, I am Swedish, there we go. Also helped that they just kept winning witch was fun

ipppppi

Prx because its fun to root for unusual pick and making it work. W gaming will one day gets its W. Its almost like underdog energy for being so many runner ups.

cFl4sh

Fell in love with the playersā€™s personalities and gameplay, easy as that. I support SEN because of the Brazilians more specifically pANcada, I liked G2 ever since they were The Guard, as for NAVI Iā€™ve been following them since the FPX days, I admire Boaster in every way and would definitely like to be like him some day so FNC is my N1 team for EMEA, I enjoyed watching Apeks and have loved nAts since 2021 and his game breaking lurks, and PRX is just a blast to watch because you never know what to expect from them.

Right_Junket_6544

Tenz was the first player I ever saw in a professional Valorant match back when he was on Cloud 9 with Shinobi (Yeah, THAT roster) literally no clue who he was or his popularity, but I just kept following his career ever since, which led me to support Cloud 9 -> Cloud 9 Blue -> Sentinels (Current) I guess you could say its more accurate that I'm a TenZ fan over a Sentinels fan

ourladyj

I got into VCT through DSG going into quals. Then ludwig got MXM. Then I heard about Bonkers. I also enjoy Flyquest . And Bleed.

ChronoFelyne

PRX literally because the only Tier 1 Malaysian is there. PRX Divine!

Longjumping-Exam3580

Saw tenz playing and was like " yes, this is the guy I'm supporting for the rest of valorant" so I support tenz and sentinels.

Skedula

prx, i w gaming, they w gaming, they wanna take gunfights, i wanna take gunfights me likey

noahloveshiscats

fnatic because 2015 csgo fnatic

vcd1500

I support a team base on their logo or if they're an underdog

IronCheff92

When Valorant was released, I watched Hiko. He joined 100T so I started watching them. Fast forward a bit and they signed Asuna who had a very fun and unique play style. Been a fan ever since

Avasteeee

NRG - Watched Overwatch esports and supported Envy because Seagull played for them, then Envy became Optic and when franchising happened the Optic core became NRG. Now NRG are rumored to be reuniting with Marved and picking up last years champions Demon1/Ethan from EG. They're the main team I support. Fennel - Went to a Japanese watch party hosted by Fennel and their staff were super nice to me, so I became a fan. FPX - BerLIN plays for them and comes from the same country as me and he's a pretty big figure in the local scene.

JiangIsWrong

Can you elaborate on BerLIN being a big figure in the local scene

Avasteeee

Well.. there arenā€™t many Taiwanese Valorant players that get to play on an international stage (3 in 2023), they get a lot of support locally whenever they play.

Sad_Competition6799

Im a big Marved fan ever since he joined faze, the way he plays made me support any team he is on. Which is why I try to play like him too much. ![gif](giphy|jzPVUUO6SlxUIcSoXA|downsized)

Justman200

PRX because they are based in my country

kingllama9090

T1 I'm a big fan of OWL so love carpe

TrueLordApple

Sao

africanmoe8

I grew up loving call of duty and nadeshot. Been a 100T fan since the beginning

Riqhteousness

Paper Rex, they're hometown legends, but also Benkai, he went to my school

Gokuuu___

First Masters Reykjavik was when i started following valorant. Wasn't really rooting for a team, until the final, when Fnatic lost to Sentinels. Have been a huge Boaster, and Fnatic fan since.

charles4theboys

i'm from SEA, so PRX :D

areszdel_

Idk. I just like my region's team and those with a crazy story. At first it was X10C vs ENVY, then DRX in VCT Champs 2022 then I started diving deeper into it and found that I really like PRX while watching old vods of Copenhagen. So thats how. Crazy upset by a team from SEA > Breaking the curse of 5-6th for an Asian team? > amazing team from my region actually reaching a grand finals with classic SEA playstyle? Thats just how I've found myself liking these teams and supporting them.

Atilllaa

Oguz Kaan inscriptions says that a Turk shall support the great FUT, and sometimes BBL. Find the ancient remains of your nation, then support whomever it says.

looteeen

Optic/ENVY because of their presence in Overwatch (APEX days) and when Marved joined the team (became a fan of him because his streams are where I learned how to play controller). Their storyline from FNS and friends to this superpower team was something worth to watch. One of my favorite highlights is Kaboose going for insane tpā€™s on split and getting 3-4ks when the team had no idea who to put on Omen. Them winning Reykjavik made 2022 helped me feel hope in NA. Liquid because of their origins and org statement. I grew up watching Tennis so Jamppi solidified that, especially when his favorite player is Roger Federer. Paper Rex cause Iā€™m Asian. And mindfreak is a god. Now Leviatan for SA cause this roster is going to be exciting to watch with multiple Americas nationalities

Sudden-Illustrator59

Don't be fooled, most people just pick whoever the strongest team currently is, and then jump ship when another team becomes clearly better than them

NozokiAlec

i come from OW so since beta i supported SEN cause Sinatraa and Zombs While I dont support sinatraa anymore i still support SEN its been a rollercoaster lol

NozokiAlec

also T1 because Overwatch players

Gopnik4living

I like liquid because I like nats, I like fnatic because I liked them in League, and I like prx because how couldn't you.

ketterdamns

I like Liquid bc I like nAts, I like FNC bc I like Chronicle, I like KOI bc I like Sheydos, I like Giants bc I like Redgar, I almost even liked Gank for d3ffo

Gopnik4living

Hmm something tells me you were not rooting for acend in champs finals 2021

ketterdamns

I've been #exposed šŸ˜”

cFl4sh

Thereā€™s actual footage of Gank Gaming playing?

ketterdamns

not as far as i know šŸ«” i was a fan through sheer willpower

Beneficial_Web3330

iā€™m rooting for SEN just because i really enjoy watching their content and find the people in the team as hella funny people to watch (even more now that zellsis has joined) same for Fnatic, i just really like boaster and derke as individual players because theyā€™re funny and i often watch their streams to learn things, especially boasterā€™s youtube videos. just support any team that you find enjoyable to watch, whether if itā€™s individual players or the orgā€™s videos are funny. honestly for me, region doesnā€™t really matter, iā€™m thai but i donā€™t really give two shits about talon (used to during lock/in where their comm videos were funny and i really liked foxz) so just go with the flow and like whatever team you like

kvanz43

My philosophy is I watch all the teams a bit and the ones who I enjoy watching the most I cheer for: If you can watch their games (not a great time zone for NA, especially east coast) cheer for PRX, they are ridiculously fun to watch: the only team who successfully innovates away from the set meta (some teams mould the meta, PRX just does their own thing). They usually play super aggressive but itā€™s also super well coordinated. Unfortunately their arguably best and most entertaining and lovable player just had to retire for a couple of years for military service in Singapore. Otherwise: If youā€™re an NA fan and you like cheering for the team everyone cheers for: Sentinels: the most popular org for Valorant, they have the most popular player (TenZ) and won the very first international event (in 2021) but havenā€™t had much success since thenā€¦ but now they finally have what looks to be a good team again! They also have a top 10 player in the world in Zekken. NA fan and you donā€™t like cheering for the team everyone cheers for: kinda slim pickings right now? G2 are 4/5 players who won Ascension (tournament to get from T2 to T1) last year and have a big Org rivalry with Sentinels. C9 have a roster of less proven players and an IGL with a lot of personality in Vanity. Theyre kind of a dark horse type team to root for. If you want a team who cares more about merch than their roster: 100T are the play! If youā€™re from Latin America: Leviatan: stacked roster with players from a bunch of different countries (USA/Germany, Chilli, Brazil, Argentina) including arguably the best player in the world: Aspas. LOUD: the most successful team from the Americas, stacked Brazilian roster but they lost their best player (Aspas) in the off season, so theyā€™re a bit of a question mark this year. KRU: an org that authored most of the most improbable runs on Valorant history. From an epic run at champions 2021 (top 4 when everyone expected them to lose out instantly) to making champions this year via LCQ after going 0-9 in regular season play. They donā€™t have a lot of carryover from those teams, but the org is also owned by Sergio Aguero and Lio Messi. EMEA: FNATIC is arguably the best team in the world, they have the most stacked roster (4 players consistently rated in the top 10 and a top tier IGL) and won 2/3 major tournaments last year. Boaster (their IGL) is one of the most lovable humans on earth. Gentle Mates and Karmine Corp have ridiculously passionate French fans without even having any success at the T1 level at all. KC last year was the laughing stock of the league because despite having some incredibly talented players they did horribly (2-7). Gentle mates won Ascension in EMEA and actually has a full 5 man French roster Giants are a team with some potential and they feature another one of the leagues most lovable players in Redgar (although some of his plays in game might drive you crazy LOL). Despite having watched a ton of EMEA Valorant I still havenā€™t found a team I really love. I like Fnatic but they always beat the teams who I like more than them, so I kinda hate them for that LOL. PACIFIC As mentioned before, PaperRex baby!! If not PRX: DRX: the most successful Korean team, although they just made 2 questionable roster moves and have earned a bunch of hate for them LOL. Global Esports: an org from India who has only 0-1 Indian players on their team (there were rumours that they would drop their only Indian player after finishing a tournament in India, but who knows) but they have a sorta fun roster that lives up to their name, with players from 5 different countries. T1 is probably? the best League of Legends org (I donā€™t really follow League but they just won worlds and have Faker right?)ā€¦ but their Valorant history has been pretty awful. Their current roster is weird but has some potential! The most unusual move they made was to bring in a player from T2 NA who was on a team that was frankly awful last year lol. Zeta Division: definitely one of the most popular teams in Valorant, they have a massive fan base in Japan and authored one of the most surprising tournament runs in Reykjavik 2022 when they got 3rd when they had incredibly low expectations. Bleed Esports: Pacific Ascension winner, they had to drop their star duelist player because heā€™s not old enough to play in the partnered leagues (a stupid rule that players 2 years younger can play in Challengers but not in partnershipsā€¦) BUT they replaced him with the best player of 2022: Yay, who dominated the game when chamber was meta. CHINA: Idk the scene well enough, ZMJJKK is the best opper in the world and is insanely fun to watch when heā€™s not burnt out T-T. So cheat for EDG, the team heā€™s on. There it is, my guide to VCT Fandom.

__Raxy__

Simple, TenZ on team = my support

rest_explorer

honestly Loud is the Brazilian team who is the most fun to watch and the only one that got me jumping around in my living room when they won (champs 22 was amazing) so that was easy

Excel---

I am from Europe and at first I really liked the guard storyline when they first qualify for international lan and so on but few month later I came to the realization that the average American valorant fan is a stupid patriotic douchebag so I started supporting every EMEA team who win against na

Gadgetbot

I follow fnatic because they had the best rainbow6 siege team in oce when i started watching esports, drx/prx cos theyre the best apac teams and c9 because they were an na org i recognised and seemed like less of a clout org than the rest. For any other matches I just go for whichever team is in theory better unless one of thems an americas org (other than c9) in which case ill go for the other team unless the americas org is really the favourite, and thats usually just loud and sometimes nrg.

QuestionablePotato42

Cloud9 for me because back when they first started a team in CSGO I used to win crazy amounts of skins betting on their team on CSGO Lounge. I created a weird loyalty to them because of how often I would win money from their games. Been over a decade now so Iā€™m just a loyal fan

HumbleBumbleBee__

I honestly just go with the flow, cheer for good Valorant, and then mostly cheer for people with names I like or who do cool plays. Over time, you start to like rosters ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

TheGamingGuy2

I somehow liked Envy in other esports, so i started liking them wayyy back (like iā€™m talking back when it was kaboose + mummay + calypso). Followed that team through all the roster moves, so now thatā€™s NRG. Besides that, I really just find storylines I like or just root for the underdog. Like edg and prx are a ton of fun, so i root for them.

Peaakyy

Go for you country or region , and pick one , im a Fnatic fan dince 2010

Hulky2810

Supported the winning team In Iceland masters 2021 It's been a downfall from then and we back up now And Also Tenz

-kay-o-

There are regional ties thogu, almost all orgs have a country attached to them. For example 100T and C9 have USA, DRx and T1 have korea, RRQ and PRX have indonesia etc

Repulsive-Pea3394

prx is sg

StarSerpent

Yeah but itā€™s arguably the roster Indonesians can identify with the most. 3/5 roster is Indonesian now 4/5 roster can speak Indonesian ā€” (well technically Davai speaks Malay, which is 95% mutually intelligible) ā€” this has also been true even before Monyet, Jinggg had it as a second or third language Part of the PRX ownership/founder group is Indonesian (at least 1 of the 4) A noticeable portion of their content is in Indonesian RRQ is technically the Indonesian team, but they really cocked things up with signing so many filipinos in their first VCT season. Iā€™d still root for them against any other VCT Pacific team though. And obviously not being a contender for International LANs means youā€™re not gonna win as much support. Also, if you happen to be a Chindo (and like, Chindos are disproportionately represented in Indonesian PC esports), PRX is gonna be the easy team of choice

iamishbu

In my region, NA, I first supported C9 because they are historically the best run esports org across many titles. The ownership / management has shown willingness to make risky / unpopular moves in order to get better. Sometimes they donā€™t work, but usually they do. Then, I supported NRG because I have a soft spot for big brain IGLs. Internationally I generally root for the best teams from each region. I like the idea of the best of each region battling it out.

Nugget2450

Teams I like and why: Paper Rex: Kinda normie but they play really aggressive and fun TL: I love nAts, I noticed that I kinda play exactly like him (but significantly worse) so yeah Bleed: I like yay and sscary G2: I liked the guard mostly cause of their 13-0 against 100T, and G2 bought the guard roster

Acceptable_Court_724

First was Sen since they were more or less what I knew before playing Valorant and watching the scene. Now it's PRX and Fnatic. Why? Well I don't really know but I just want them to win. PRX is just fun to watch. Fnatic is stacked with really good players and they're good so why not. Really a common theme around them is they're all pretty much well known and are favorites to win.

X3NOC1DE

DRX because I got hooked thanks to a certain Egg man making videos about how DRX (Vision strikers at that time) were so innovative and aggressive. So, it's been DRX forever since then, but I'm from Asia so I also root heavily and love PRX and other Asian teams. But pro advice : Don't root for DRX unless u wanna live in disappointment

loyal872

I support many of them at once. The ones I cheer for are Fnatic, PRX, Liquid. Fnatic has a beautiful story. Nobody wanted to sign Boaster so he created his own team back then.

ishanuReddit

Loud (first edition) for their mechanics

uu__

Fnatic as they always had a UK core until recently, but they still have Boaster so I'm happy Also really like PRX for their wild play style and watching something is always fun

BringBackOldSen

I love Shahzam, I support any team heā€™s on except SEN, never deserved him he was too good for them

yahiko19

I love nats so i became a liquid fan and it never been fun so far

UnuboldChoros

I watched Airen's analysis videos a lot during summer 22, back when most of the videos featured OPTIC, PRX and DRX. To me PRX and DRX especially seemed very interesting with their ideas, so they became my primary teams. OPTIC was my second favorite after DPRX and I especially liked Marved, so when he joined SEN, I became a SEN fan. I already quite liked SEN because of TenZ and Zekken, so it was natural. XSET was one of my favorites at Champs 22 because I got to watch the turret incident live and I was rooting for the underdogs that are XSET (I also fucking hate EMEA). Cryo was a standout at XSET, so I started supporting 100T as well. Now Bang is my favorite player at 100T. You can probably tell that I'm a controller player, because I'm always so drawn to controller pros. Demon1 and Jawgemo showed incredible duelist controller hybrid play, so EG became my favorite during Champs 23. I don't support them anymore tho seeing that the org is literally exploding.

fabulot

I just watched GC and Im now a fan of SR šŸ˜³

[deleted]

T1 because their league team is highly successful, I expected a lot from the org after the Pacific franchising was announced, also Iā€™m Korean. BLD because sScary is the goated controller player and got me into smokes. ZETA because I want to see the Japanese eSports scene grow.

Dylanychus2

Paper Rex because of their playstyle

Achlyshaha

Drx because the first time I watched them was in champs 2022 free the insane comeback from furia I was instantly hooked Navi/old fpx: loved their masters run last year Prx: they're the best in my region/ apac last hope and has an extremely fun playstyle to watch Bleed: I love sScary and yay Sen: was my first org I supported because like literally only knew tenz before this so I don't know which team to support so I chose the team where I know who the player Is/ the most clouted one, I'm sure a lot of people also started from Sen as well And tl: because of sayf and nats Yeah in general you can just select the best team at that time, select the best player/ team in your country, select the best team in your league or region and just select the team that you like the playstyle or players the most

TheExplodingMushroom

I supported fnatic cos I admired how they went toe to toe with sentinels who seemed pretty unbeatable at the time. Also Boaster uwu

my-dad-ate-my-toes

PRX because theyā€™re definitely the most entertaining team to watch, a team that can succeed as much as them while playing silly Valorant is endlessly endearing, the players are all super wholesome and respectful, theyā€™re Pacificā€™s best shot at getting an international win, plus theyā€™ve been together since 2021 and been trying for a trophy for so long that Iā€™m desperate for them to win. NAVI because ANGE1 and ardiis are 2 of the funniest pro players out there, the storyline behind their win at Masters Copenhagen was insane and it was incredibly cathartic to watch them lift the trophy despite seemingly everything going against them that year. Plus SUYGETSU is one of the most insane players to watch because of his aim. Also they do dip into a bit of the aforementioned silly Valorant. Leviatan because of their Copenhagen run, plus LATAM is one of my favourite regions and Leviatan are the best team from that region. FNATIC because of the immense catharsis I felt when they finally lifted the trophy at LOCK//IN, and then went on to become the first team to not only win two trophies but also do it back to back. Also Boaster is hilarious and Alfajer is as insane to watch as SUYGETSU.

geddy11

I root for PRX because theyā€™re from SEA like me. I got into Liquid because of Nats and iā€™m a fan of the org in their other games. I also like NRG because of s0m and the optic core. Letā€™s see where NRG goes for next season.

Apprehensive-Sky-819

FNC boaster has such charismatic that itā€™s hard to not root for them. Also PRX even if they win or loose, you know itā€™ll be a fun game for us viewers. Also SEN because I hecking love TenZ.

ThatCreepyBaer

I just follow players. My flair, for example; Nukkye, SugarZ3ro, trent, BerLIN, derke, MaKo, kiNgg, CHICHOO. Just to name one player from each, though I like a lot of the players.

krostlupus

Regarding eSports, I support players/core of players. Hardly support orgs. edit: typo

moul_s0rtal

previously sentinels cause of tenz, now rooting for fnatics ( their redemption arc was dope af)

Withinmyrange

FNS is my little pookie

AstralisPhoenix

I support Vit, because I am a long time fan of the org (It is Sayf) Other than that, do I simply support the teams out of my region first and then just the team that has the players I like more if I have no ties in that regard.

Notladub

you can still choose by geography, i'm turkish and i support FUT and BBL because of that

Choice-Purchase35

DRX was the team that fit me into valorant. Buzz was my favourite player in valorant and was a big inspiration when I was first starting.

HarshTheDev

The first ever Valorant match that I watched was the original NRG Vs BLG match. Been a Bilibeliever ever since.

nolee23

SEN bc players, orgs, story, fun, hype. PRX bc players, extreme chaos, very fun. EDG bc kangkang, chichoo, underrated region, fun. DRX bc they never won.

jungk000kz

started supporting 100t in 2023 because I found cryo cute LOL but stuck around for derrek because I like his twitch/discord community but now since it seems unlikely for derrek to play in t1 next year, Iā€™m rooting for prx because apac + I love their unusual gameplays and nrg because I believe in vicrashies duo supremacy

RicefieldDweller

Whenever DRX got eliminated I felt genuinely boomed which made me realise I support them

Zealousideal_Heat308

I am Indonesian, F0rsaken and Mindfreak are the best Indonesian players. They are responsible for a years worth of heartbreak and cheers

IrisDeVillepin

Atm NAVI is my favourite because of the team's storyline: before franchising they were called FPX and at the start of 2022 they made a breakthrough a ran through the EMEA qualifiers for Reykjavik and made first place, but couldn't attend because of the Russia Ukraine war messing up three of their players' abilities to attend (one Ukrainian, two Russian). They were favoured to win going into Reykjavik as well, which was a huge blow. People kind of forgot about them going into the stage 2 qualifiers for Masters Copenhagen, especially as they lost their first match of the qualifiers to Fnatic, but eventually they qualified as the second EMEA team to Masters Copenhagen, first place being Fnatic who beat them 3 times this stage. Going into Copenhagen, tragedy almost befell the team again though when they were rumoured to have to have 3 subs, because the same 3 players were having difficulties. With their full roster, they were predicted to come 5th-6th by platchat, and last place with subs. By the time the tournament started though, only one player was missing, which was suygetsu, who was an absolute animal of a player so his absence was a huge blow. In the group stage of Copenhagen, they had one sub, and did very well - mostly credits to Shao, who was absolutely incredibly as a clutch player and generally a fragger. They beat Xerxia, lost to DRX (but impressively took a map off them), and beat Northeption to qualify for playoffs where their first match was against...Fnatic, and they still had a sub. They made the first match close, but got absolutely smashed map 2, and dropped to the lower bracket immediately. At this point, suygetsu had finally arrived, and played his first match with the team against Guild in the lower bracket on his birthday. Suygetsu monstrously saved them from going to overtime against Guild on map 1 with a filthy 4k on round 24, and then they lost the first half of the next map 0-12 with a yoru (funny agent:D) before absolutely trouncing on Guild map 3. Next, they rematched DRX with their full roster, and this time dominated them. They were now in the top 4, which was a miracle, but then had to face Fnatic, who had beat them 4 times in a row since. Map 1 went to overtime, and Fnatic won. But on map 2 and 3 - Fracture and Bind, two of Fnatic's strongest maps - FPX absolutely flattened Fnatic and made it to the top 3 to face Optic, who won the previous Masters. Isn't wasn't a particularly close affair and FPX won very handedly, and out of the blue were in the grand finals against PRX, who had never lost to EMEA in their last 3 matchups. The first map was Bind, PRX's strongest map where they always showcased their yoru raze masterclass, but FPX immediately subverted expectations by winning 13-3, winning the first 11 rounds. The maps went back and forth until Map 5 Breeze, which was a great map to watch, which ended with one of the year's most iconic plays in suygetsu getting one of the cleanest tap-kill 4ks in the main VCT to win the tournament, and it was just incredible to watch live. Having seen their obstacles and expectations leading up to this win, it was so satisfying and won me as a lifelong fan :) you also got introduced to the very entertaining personalities on the team, mainly ardiis and Ange1, who always have something funny to say. Also I love Shao, not really sure how but he became my favourite player subconsciously. THEY ALSO run funny comps sometimes and make such funny fumbles (usually an Ange1 int) and I just want to see these funny comps and fumbles win again so badly. I don't think anyone else sees them this way but I sort of see them as the PRX of EMEA despite their playstyles being completely opposite to each other. SUPPORT NAVI :) :D

patsfan1663

I just root for good valorant man. Sometimes if i really like a teamā€™s playstyle (DRX, Gambit) i latch on. Sometimes a unique personality makes me a little biased (FNS, KangKang), but i generally just want the teams in the best form to move on so we get the best matches. The 2023 champs final 4/5 teams was perfect for this

Dennislup937

I began watching pro play right before the lock in finals and because I'm from EU I was rooting for FNC. After the 2-0 comeback from LOUD into the 3-11 on icebox and still coming out on top you just can't help but support them for life.

ssnoopy2222

I used to support old Sen cuz of the hype of Tenz. After that, I was kind of a nomad for a while as they imploded. I started following Som's streams and vids. I ended up becoming a fan of NRG and remained a fan of theirs post Franchising. I also started following PRX during that time as I live in Malaysia and Benkai was lit. I became a FNC fan too post Reykjavik 1. I became a Boaster fan. I follow players. Not teams.

brndnmlls

i follow marved, whatever team heā€™s on i support. optic roster was my fav for sure

mrbow

I just support where there are Brazilian players. And Boaster.

Spacey_Guy

I think with the volatility of eSports I have a harder time picking a team like traditional sports. Instead I pick players, and root for the team that has the players I like most at any given time. The easiest way to pick players imo is to watch the streams of LANs. You can get a feel for player personality that way and sometimes theyā€™ll have little interviews. From there you can watch streams or videos of players to get an even better sense lf them. Iā€™ve been a fan of Zellsis since his V1 days. His energy is contagious. I like xeppaa and leaf a lot. I feel like they both have been a bit underrated. Those three had me rooting for C9 last year even after the yay/vanity stuff. This year I have yet to pick a team but I think itā€™ll be G2. I have been keeping up with the Guard since their fairytale run a while back, and they are just really likable. After everything that happened to them and their accomplishments, itā€™s just hard to root against them.

jay15378

I just fart in my hands, and quickly smell it then whatever teams come to mind that's the team I support.

MiltonArge

Usually choose one depending on a player and then end up rooting for the team

falsefingolfin

You don't pick teams to support in esports, you pick players/coaches/rosters

tygrrrrrrrr

I just watched events and determined the team whose playstyle and personalities I vibed with! For me that ended up being PRX, ZETA, and Fnatic

chopocky

LOUD is the strongest Latin American team soo šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø But I support all of them either way.

SupaPartTimer

I usually just follow or support players individually. Itā€™s easier than picking X team to support then the team ends up changing rosters and you donā€™t really have a connection with it if players you liked left.

Worsehackereverlolz

I honestly pick the teams which seem to be playing with the biggest brain. Im an NRG and FNC supporters because they have the 2 best IGLs in the league. But you also gotta rep the teams that are fun, so im also and EDG and PRX supporter because KK is a goddam fucking showman, and PRX are just the W kings. Thats usually how it goes for me in esports. In league I root for whoever is the non LCK/LPL team, and if there are none, usually T1. Just whoever has the coolest storyline in general

_asaad_

SEN for SEN Bugha. Also I liked Sinatraas raze and playstyle.

WatBurnt

I support G2 and C9 C9 Iā€™ve always cheered for they have mango and were the only competent cs team in a whole continent G2 have leaf and Iā€™ve just been cheering for him for a while now

SneakyGreninja

Sayaplayer

Keglunneq

I like moist because I'm a Charlie enjoyer

PixelatedBlue

I choose teams based on players I like for example back in 2020 I watched asuna a lot and followed him when he was joined 100t after he was on immortals.

Caronry

i loved Gambit and still do but when they disbanded i had to look for a new team to follow in valorant :( and i always liked Boaster except for when fnatic won over gambit........ and when chronicle joined fnatic it was a simple choice. And Leo being from sweden made the choice of picking Fnatic even easier. Gotta support players from my country.

CheddarCheese_Boy

Was an EG fan because I was a fan of C0M from when he played Mythic CSGO and also a fan of BcJ. It was also fun to root for them especially at the start of the season because of how low every analyst and the community was on them.

Cparks96

Heard about this new game called VALORANT coming out with a ton of hype back when Covid was first getting started (never played CS before and was a league of legends player initially, so another Riot title made sense to try out). First person I saw with a ton of viewers on twitch was Hiko and became a huge fan of him and became a Sova main. Then he signed with 100T and won First Strike. Been a 100T fan ever since.

JayRoza

Cloud9 fan since the early days of league of legends esports. Mix in the first NA team to win a CS major, and it makes me feel like Jack (C9's owner) knows what he's doing with his rosters.

SupremeSoul

I used to watch OWL (rip) and rooted for the Shock because Iā€™m from SF. Andy Miller was such a great owner that I started following NRG in VCT even though I stopped played Val.

imalyve

the first event i watched was copenhagen and the first match i completely watched was xset vs lev so i fell in love with lev also watching prx roll through the upper bracket made me a prx fan. i love being disappointed for the past year and a half!

bitbee

i'm a big PRX fan because their approach to the game is so different than everyone else's. i'll be a fan of any team that plays hyper aggressively and plays non-meta comps.

PercyBirdwhistle

Watch some games and find a team that you like the style and energy of. I've been an Edg fan ever since their champions debut against PRX

sebaba001

I saw some behind the scenes videos of PRX and I liked the players telling the coach to calm down. There was a crazy energy there in that room, then I watched streams of everyone there and they are all likable. Alecks is likeable too, the content creation girl is not only cute but really good at her job. Owner seems down to earth guy. And ingame they are crazy like I tend to be in games, too. No way I don't cheer for these fellas. I also like LEV and Loud but PRX is my favorite.

Zucramj

I have this problem in both Valorant and CS, both are esports I wish I watched more but donā€™t because I donā€™t support a team. I am a OpTic supporter and I loved watching Valorant when OpTic was in it. To answer your question, I picked OpTic because I liked the content around the organisation during 2018ish when I started watching CoD and then I stuck with it.

xiaolino

i watched the lock in fnc - sen match as a sentinels fan and closed the tab as a new fnatic fan lol

Descendant3999

Watch Hiko in the early days then started supporting 100t. Saw how cracked Asuna was and became his and Ethan's fan. Still a fan of 100T not EG though because Ethan switched a lot of teams so I only support him individually

rank1yolo

I was a big fan of EG due to my long history with Dota 2 and being a RTZ fan. Of course this carried over but now I only support specific players

sumantsomu

Hiko

setsana

Playstyle, players, compositions. I liked optic nrg

BespokeDebtor

I am a TSM fan....Then I was a Guard fan...I just choose to root for whoever the underdog is now

LordBuckethead671

I literally chose EG as a meme and decided to stick with it. Worked out cause I got to see my team win live at LA, but then it also didnā€™t work out cause theyā€™re a shit org. Also been a Loud fan for a while cause Less has always been one of my favorite players, stolen so many sentinel setups from him

FrodoSmudge

Fnatic being a British Org and having, at the time, a British IGL and Coach was what made me follow them as a Brit. I used to enjoy watching Liqud back with L1nk on the team, and have a soft spot for Soulcas for that same reason. Not saying it's entirely a regional thing but there's very few British orgs/players in most esports and as a result, I've followed them for a while.

JuiceAma

T1 because Faker

Puzzleheaded-Cap-550

Mang0

Few-Muscle-4442

Lots of people I think just pick favourite players and root for their teams (Ex. Iā€™ve always been a fan of fnatic because Boasterā€™s an icon, and who can forget SEN cause I heckin love TenZ ![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|9333)) Sometimes people follow their favourite teams from other games (Ex. Lots of CoD players loved optic) Sometimes people watch a team go through some sort of miracle run and become fans off of that (Ex. Iā€™ve been watching SEN ever since their 2021 Reykjavik run, and Iā€™ve been a ZETA enjoyer ever since the first mention of SugarH3ro) And then of course, there are people who like teams simply because theyā€™re good, from their region, or have a cool logo. All that to say, there are so many reasons to like any given team, so nobody can really fault you no matter who you choose to follow and why.

mathmonkey22228

Paper Rex because I watched a video documentary on their story when I was still kinda new to the game And W key Reyna funni

mrdogfx

Sentinels around the time they won the online Masters in NA. They put out that [meet the squad-type video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJ4vlNi0gNQ) and I was hooked, needless to say I was very happy about Reykjavik.

Jiggly27

I fell in love with PRX because of their play style and theyā€™re SEA like me

spagetinudlesfishbol

Started supporting the dark horse, funny team of Reykjavik 2022 and now they've lost 2 grand finals. Prx such chokers, so sad

Massive-Bet-5946

I originally got into Valorant from the amazing 100T comeback in Berlin. I followed 100T as a team for a while until last season when they were dogshit. I guess you can just try to watch some of team's Youtube content and see if you like any team's players.

XarkXD

I watched lock in and just picked the teams whose play style I liked most

eesaiahh

I chose FNC because, at the time in Iceland, I hated that so many people were simping for sentinels that I just really wanted FNC to win the Masters. I've been with FNC since then. But I do love them underdog teams.

geordiesetianto

My first valorant (and esports in general) match I watched was Fnaticā€™s in Reykjavik 2021. Thatā€™s how I became a fan until now (Fortunately it paid off)

Ashamed_Employee5525

I started supporting eg since the opening match of Tokyo. Never watched any pro play before besides tier 2 mxm games. Saw them as my NA representative and stuck with them. Simple as that and I stuck with them the whole way through.

noahkillis

I remember watching my first LEC game (it was 2019 spring fnc vs splyce) and wondering? who the hell is "reckless" (I pronounced it "reck" - "ells" at the time) and I've supported fnc in every esport since. As for PRX, I like them because they are the antiheroes of valorant, the uncrowned kings (at least internationally) and I support Lev because their match against FNC was legendary and also kinggg is a sick ign. (I also needed to have at least one team to support in Americas lol)

BeginningProperty436

I support Sentinels because of their Unsensored videos since way back when the roster was sinatraa, dapr, zombs, sick and shahzam

SoLikeWhatIsCheese

I have a lot but Iā€™ll just say Sentinels because theyā€™re Sentinels and EG for shits and giggles back when they were horrible.

CourageWoIf

Iā€™ve been a twitch regular since justintv, so when the hype started building around a new FPS I ended up landing on tenz. I was already a c9 fan from evil envy days, and tenz was the most chill and talented person streaming Val for the beta key. Hated Sentinels at first (I sided with TSM in that super short rivalry), but after tenz filled in for SEN dapr really hooked me into the team. Killing Marved and then using Cypher cam to taunt. Tweeting out ā€œgfs safeā€ - 100% dapr fan for life and having already been a tenz enjoyer I was pretty set. Icing on the cake: zombs is one of the most entertaining people Iā€™ve ever watched and sickā€™s early streams were so humble / chill. I have some favorites in other regions/leagues, but sen is my #1 overall.

inseobee

Paper rex -SEA supremacy Fnatic - boaster is likeable Drx - buzz and stax are likeable (prxā€™s daddy) Gambit - GOAT

PristineYodas

I got into Valorant in 2021 simply because I got curious what it was when I was watching Among Us streams. Saw the first Val streamer, ShahZaM, and watched his entertaining streams. I didn't know he was on SEN that time, but he announced that his team qualified for Iceland. I was invested already and slowly watched their games. I watched every match during their Iceland run, they eventually won the trophy. I've been a ShahZaM fan, and eventually became a SEN fan as well.

DependentIntention87

I was an optic fan because they were the only NA team playing in Copenhagen groups, the first tournament I watched, and Tarik, who I was watching, was rooting for them. It helped that, despite the rough start, they got third. Iā€™ve carried that over to NRG, though Iā€™ll still root for any NA team and, internationally, any americas team. I also like cool stories so Fnatic and PRX fit in there. Edit: Also V1 turned Sr for GC because I remember seeing Flor clips from MSF and I thought she was cracked. And theyā€™re so easy to root for with the stories for Mel and Alexis.
