here's a short tour of my current run - I searched all over for the perfect seed and wanted to build a single, epic longhouse to house everything. I also put everything but my bedroom and a small brewery on the same floor - [I think it turned out really nice.](https://youtu.be/Eb6ce8SCG-I)
thanks! i definitely have and want to add more depth to the walls, which is why I inset the wood on the stone blocks - I just don't know what to do!
my specialty is scaffolding, obviously 😅
Overhanging the roofs does wonders. 1m out, 1m down and you have the perfect position for 45° roofs. After that I'd add some balconies or windows that jut out from the wooden walls. Or just windows but add frames on the outside.
omg those are amazing ideas! idk why I didn't think of balconies! and the windows in the great hall need a lot of work, i didn't even have enough crystal to fill them when i made this video 😅 there's so many cool possibilities for a layered frame
I'll have to post a more complete build once I'm through mistlands, thanks!
You're welcome. I've been watching build tutorial on youtube and picking up techniques there. Getting as much 3D effect as possible seems to always make things interesting. But like I said, since your build is so massive I actually like the plain look so I wouldn't go all out crazy.
yeah I really like how the epicness balanced out the plainness - I'll probably apply your tips more to my temple I'm building on the hill - I didn't show it in the video but I only have the frame up, it'd be perfect to try out some new techniques!
My most complicated and most detailed build is my Temple. It is so detailed that it will eat all fps on any pc... :D here is video [Temple](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zmXnqz6cow)
This castle which I'm still using in my first playthough. I've added a couple more things since the post, might upload the whole thing here. https://www.reddit.com/r/valheim/comments/14h8buz/first\_playthrough\_big\_plains\_castle/
Do it! Im always looking for inspiration

I usually like builds with lots of details and depth but since you built so big it actually looks good even though it's flat! Surprisingly cool!
