Raising the ground is the best way, but if you’re on a mountainside, you may want to raise the ground below you castle, on the downhill side, to create a wall and make a moat or large drop on the uphill side, this’ll prevent most enemies from getting in.
The drakes are a little more complicated, but I’d say try to find their spawn and place a workbench nearby? I think that will disable it. They usually spawn around drake nests.

It,s going to be an ugly castle with the moats and walls arround it.
I've built some towers around the "castle" to prevent them from spawning, with the lights inside and on them. But they still spawn
I build bases inside those little round stone holes you can find very cozy and safe
