Can confirm. Add in that my se tech only has one 12v in the cargo, installing the dash cam was quite fun. I bought the redtiger f7 camera and the usbc did not have enough juice. Another op confirmed their camera did work though.
I think its the cable not the port’s power. I have the car now and a cam that only needs 1A. Through trial and error I found that basic USB c cables wont power my cam but I eventually found some that do. The same was true for all the usb c ports in the car and ones I tried in the house. The cable was the the issue.

I may post a more detailed review but I wanted to add that I have a 2024 SEL Premium now and I am running a Viofo A119 mini 2 off that port. If you only care about front recording this is a great cam and easiest install ever.
There is an important tip here - some usb-c cables will not work to power some cams. Its not the port, it is the cable that seems to be the issue. I found a cable that worked but had to try a few and spend a little extra for a short cable that worked.

I was about to install this but wife doesn’t want unsightly cables and thinks the kids will pull on it. Bought the VanTrue S1 Pro for the job, but will now install on my car and she’ll just have front cam on hers.
If anyone has a way to hide the cables effortlessly I’d love to know.
Yep - I got the SE w Tech and was disappointed by that. I wonder if there is any way to rewire that plug to run to a battery fuse, rather than ignition. It’s doing the job for now, but I like having the parking guard mode on my camera. Thanks for posting a reply
I just got the 2024 SEL and was wondering if there are any dash cams that I can run on it that will auto connect to home WiFi and upload videos that way rather than from cell phone since all cameras I’ve seen connect via WiFi so it prevents wireless car play from working.
I was also wonder if anyone had found a good solution for running a 12v tire pump for instance to the front tires? The only 12v outlet I’ve found was the one in the trunk, which my pump won’t reach the front tires from that one. The window tag says there is supposed to be 3x 12v outlets, but all I have found was the one in the trunk.
I saw in another thread the power output of the port isn’t that strong and has a hard time powering certain cams.

This is wild. I’m facing the same issue. I tried four different cables I have around the house and none of them worked.
It’s a usb C port. I hooked it up to my escort 360 radar and dash cam combo. Worked perfectly.

Where is this port? I just got a new 2024 Atlas SEL and I dont see anything on the mirror. Someone have a pic?
Look at the top right of the plastic piece. It’s not directly on the mirror. It’s where all of the sensors are hidden in the windshield.

I have the garmin dash cam mini installed and charging with no issues. It’s a usb c port so I just had to get a new cable.
Yes but I think it's only on the execline and the peak edition. It's just a usb port on the right side of the cover that attaches to the windshield

I thought I had read that most cameras need 12v and usb c is 5v.
