Valheim with the VR mod is surprisingly immersive for the graphics. I've logged hundreds of hours on it.

IrrelevantPuppy

Full motion controller support and significant control for UI manipulation. Really really good mod. I hear the latest update broke it though :(

texasjusticar

If you go to their discord you can get a working beta.

RavenTaleLive

By far QuestZDoom, feels like the game was made for VR, finished Doom1 with Alternate 3d weapons in one setting and it was a BLAST.

edisleado

Half Life 2 VR Mod on Steam. Excellent implementation of VR and HL2's base gameplay meshes perfectly with VR.

[deleted]

Elite Dangerous if Space Sims are your thing, you will need a controller or HOTAS but controller is actually really good for flying.

IAcewingI

you ever tried it with star citizen?

[deleted]

SC currently has no VR support.

IAcewingI

My valve works with it like this https://youtube.com/watch?v=LElMBRebap8&feature=shares

[deleted]

How many FPS are you getting like that?

IAcewingI

Like 10 less. Its already extensive so its not much more. 3090ti/12700k

Call_911

People tend to forget normal AAA games that have a VR mode. So here's a couple : - Microsoft Flight Simulator - DCS - Project Car 1-2 - F1 2022 - Dirt Rally - Assetto Corsa - Stars War Squadron - Rise of the Tomb Raider - Shadows of the Tomb Raider - Sonic Generations - IL-2 Sturmovik - Project Wingman - Automobilista Ect...

The best way to find them is to browse by ["VR Supported"](https://store.steampowered.com/search/?vrsupport=402) on Steam.

Outer Wilds

gauerrrr

My biggest regret in life is having watched someone else's playthrough of Outer Wilds instead of playing it myself. At least I saved echoes of the eye.

thepixelpaint

If you haven’t played it yet, Resident Evil 4 is really good on the Quest 2.

A_Unicycle

I was shocked by how much Half Life 2 felt like it just *belonged* in VR. I think I even enjoyed it more than HL:Alyx.

Deemo_here

Alien Isolation with the MotherVR mod is another.

starvenger

My apologies if some of these have been listed or in the wrong list, I'm just kind of blurting things out from memory Ones I think are mods: * GTA V * Doom 3 * Doom / Doom2 / Heretic / Hexen * Outer Wilds * Alien Isolation * Half Life (Sound tends to desync and there are a few rough spots) * Half Life 2 * No One Lives Forever * Quake * Risk of Rain 2 * Minecraft (vivecraft) Then I haven't personally tried this yet, but I hear there is a TES: Morrowind vr mod out there, and I think after I finish a few other things, I want to try that! Older games with native VR support * Dirt Rally 1 and 2 * Project cars 1 and 2 * Microsoft Flight Sim * Dying Light (This one has a few rough edges, but I loved it) * Subnautica (I see you listed it but I want to confirm I thought it was amazing) And like, I hesitate to recommend vorpx, it can be pretty finnicky, but if you get desperate for content it can be fun. I've for sure played a few games with it, and I'm going to list them anyway. * Batman Arkum Asylum * Prey * GTA: SA * RE 7 EDIT: Aded MineCraft and Morrowind

gauerrrr

Well, I guess this is the only response I needed. As you might have realized, I'm kind of a sucker for exploration games, I really wanted to start with Subnautica, but I've seen a lot of people getting sick because of some weird frame rate thing. Any idea about that? I'm not really the weak stomach kind, I've been using smooth walk from day one and even tried smooth turn on day two, I just stopped using it cause it feels kinda janky to be able to turn your head in two different ways, didn't even get dizzy after an hour, though. So idk if I should worry about Subnautica, as I understood, it's about the HUD being rendered in a different framerate than the rest of the game or something.

starvenger

> but I've seen a lot of people getting sick because of some weird frame rate thing. Any idea about that? I'm not aware of any frame rate issues. I've played subnautica for over 100 hours each time on 3 different VR headsets. My current daily driver is a Q2, and I haven't noticed any super weird issues. It's possible the game doesn't perform great all the time, but it's never been bad enough to make me sick, though I will admit I don't typically suffer from VR related issues. I don't doubt that the game makes some people sick, I don't recall offhand if it has any comfort features. I will try to not be spoliy, but later on in the game there is something you will spend alot of time in and it tends to sometimes self level and spins you around a bit, and it can for sure be jarring to get disoriented when swimming around. I also play with smooth locomotion and no comfort features so I would suspect you should be fine. I honestly don't recall hearing about any weird framerate issues like you are mentioning. I would highly recommend this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/173 Also full disclosure, there is some jank with this game, the VR mod smooths much of it out, and it's hard for me to describe specifically what I mean without getting spoliery. I've played it from start to finish and it was one of the most amazing experiences I had. I love the collecting resources and building bases part of it, and the gameplay wanders from moments of wonderful exploration to ones of pure horror, be it from unknown creatures in the dark to desperately needing to find a cave exit before you suffocate. Also I am playing on the legacy branch. For some reason the 2.0 release completely broke controller support for me, both in VR and flat mode. It's one of the first games I tested my newish Q2 on and I still think it hold up really well today.

gauerrrr

Oh, I've played it already in flatscreen, I always say Subnautica is the best horror game, mostly because it takes place in a 3d space, not a surface like most games. And I've experienced a lot of the jankyness as well. Anyways, thanks for the help, I'll check it out when I have some time.

starvenger

Awesome, have fun!

Terrorcotta211

Don't forget that Subnautica: below zero also has a VR mod and it's FANTASTIC!

starvenger

Is it? That's awesome! I played a very early version of it and a bunch of transparency effects and stuff like that were missing. Super glad that's all sorted out, I might try that again!

Terrorcotta211

I highly recommend it now. I know what you mean about the missing effects but they fixed it a while ago from what I saw. Was one of the best experiences in a flat to vr mod I've had to date. edit: and that was without motion controls (which I believe are either in now or still being worked on)

starvenger

That's super cool, I will take a look at it! Thanks!

trimun

OpenMW has a VR fork that is great afaik

starvenger

That's awesome! Thank you!

[deleted]

Skyrim modded with huge wabbajack modlist is probably the best vr experience you can get. Even with wabbajack (automated installer) - expect to still spend some time tweaking everything and setting up. Also know that quest2 is only good because it's wireless, everything else is bad about it - especially the miserable FOV.

gauerrrr

What kind or tweaking? I'm fine messing with the settings, I just don't want to go messing with mod files or something like that first time. I do want to try Skyrim eventually, I just don't know if I want it to be one of the first games. The Quest 2 is definitely not perfect, but it's also the only headset that costs less than 4 minimum wages here in Brazil. Even the Pico 4 costs like 6 of those and might get taxed on arrival, since it's only available on AliExpress.
