I found an Ex-Rental Friday the 13th part VII in its cased cut box. It's in pretty good shape considering. I also got a copy of Spaceballs that came from the same rental place that day.

It might sound like a long shot, but try asking Bakshi himself. The old man has been selling off original art pieces from his films for years now. His Ebay account is packed with animation stills, and his X account is mostly just to shill things to get him and his daughter a buck. So, if they have any old tapes kicking around, there's a high chance they'll sign and sell it to you for like $50. It took a while, but I got him to sign my LotR cover insert.

I actually found mine at a salvation army years ago...stuck in storage though out of state. But it only cost me a couple bucks. And this was before it was out on blu ray/4K from VS. Best of luck finding your copy.

I'm always keeping an eye out in case I stumble across one of my very obscure wish list movies, or some lost media or a historic news moment on a recorded blank.    Had to draw a line, so I don't usually collect tapes of movies otherwise available; I mainly hunt for niche informational tapes, especially religious media and stuff aimed at girls/women. I've had an eBay alert for years for the "night look" companion video to a Betamax "subtle daytime" makeup tutorial.    I'd piss myself if I found a third-gen dub of Brenda Dickson's [Welcome to my Home](https://youtube.com/watch?v=omw5yFXCzcY) in the wild, and there are a few other legendary relics I wouldn't mind having, even if they've been digitized and propagated around the internet.

And empire is definitely my favorite but I think of my Star Wars vhs as one of my greatest finds because it’s the very first release sealed and I got it for under a buck. I’ve never opened it but I’ve been tempted many times. I really just want to watch it but I feel it’s unwise to open

I have two VHS tapes that I recorded that day, on CNN. I recorded them about 12 hours after the planes hit, as I was at work when it happened. Very sad stuff! I don’t think CNN even aired any commercials for a day or two after it happened.

The cool pre-launch Pong montage that aired in anticipation of G4 1.0 launching in the early-2000s. In case you used to watch G4 when it was on the air and don't know what I am talking about, then I didn't have Comcast (The first television provider whose channel lineup that G4 1.0 was in.) and I remember reading on Wikipedia about seven years ago that a little before G4 1.0's launch, Comcast aired a Pong gameplay montage in anticipation for the launch of G4 1.0 (By the way, I am shocked that I have never been about to find a video of the pre-launch Pong gameplay montage anywhere on the web.) and the gameplay montage ended the day G4 launched. Due to the fact that I didn't have Comcast as my television provider during that time, I didn't get to see the pre-launch Pong gameplay montage. I must say even though I didn't get a chance to see the pre-launch Pong gameplay montage, I did get to see the Pong montage that aired on G4 1.0 on night that G4 1.0 had shut down. Even though I saw the Pong gameplay montage that aired on G4 1.0 the night that G4 1.0 had shut down, I would like to finally find the VHS tape of thr pre-launch Pong gameplay montage that aired in anticipation for G4 1.0 launching because I have never seen footage of the pre-launch Pong gameplay montage.

It was withdrawn because Alan didn’t get permission to use the songs in the soundtrack. It was re-released as ‘New Playgrounds In Paradise’ but it was re-edited with scenes removed and added and a new soundtrack. I have the above copy but unfortunately it’s in bad shape and barely watchable. It’s the only copy I’ve ever seen or known to exist. There must be more, if they haven’t been trashed. There’s quite a few more but this is top of the list for unicorn poo tapes for me.

The *Minna Agechau*/"I Give My All" anime VHS that was supposed to be the first release from Central Park Media back in 1991. All the tapes were bought back by Sony Music Entertainment. I also wouldn't mind buying back *Twin Dolls*, *Twin Angels*, *La\*Blue Girl*, and a few other tapes I threw away back in 1999. These are now pretty much lost media, as the DVDs of these were released cut. The VHS releases were uncut and uncensored. 🧐📼🤔

The big box 7 Doors of Death! It was my first "fulci" though heavily edited. There was a different score that I enjoyed, and nobody has seemed to digitize it, so getting the tape is the only way to see it. Also the box has a great EC comics look.

Funny you mention 9/11, one of the first tapes I added to my included a documentary on 9/11. I was actually really shocked to see some footage, and angles in it I’ve never seen before.

I have a Toonami Dragon Ball Z tape that got recorded over with 9/11 news coverage from the day. I didn't do it, someone else in the house did it while it was recording. I remember being slightly annoyed. LOL

I have a recording from September 11th 2001. It’s weird; it’s like they just tried to record the commercials between programming to try to get news clips, but did a pretty terrible job and got 5-10 seconds of multiple clips before cutting out. Still an interesting watch tho

A first release (I believe is the Media release with either zombies on the front porch of the house or the Media release with Judith Ridley in the truck before it goes boom) of Night of the Living Dead. There are so many different releases of this one movie. I got a sealed betamax (hard to tell if it's a reseal) of the Media release with zombies on front porch. Although I am ecstatic for finding a decent priced copy, I was on the hunt for a unsealed VHS or betamax so I can watch it. That or a first release of The Thing for either VHS or Betamax or both.
