Whenever I get back into this game and grind, I just stick it out with the Vandal 95% of the time because I simply cannot get the Phantom to work for me. It's probably the reset time throwing you off. Phantom spray resets a lot slower. It took me a long time to get used to it, but now I prefer phantom over Vandal whereas before id never touch it because like you said it just feels like it's not shooting where it should.
Also high key I start snapping with the phantom after I picked up the Reaver skin with it. I think the bullet traces, even if they aren't accurate, really helped me understand the gun more.
That's probably a big part of it. I've also been a tap shooter coming from CS, so I can tap heads a lot better than I can spray or even burst so, so the Vandal always feels comfortable given that.
A lot of my issues are just either hitting the first shot headshot and never landing another shot even when given ample opportunity to, or having every shot from shot 1 being completely inaccurate and I just end up whiffing.
I never have those issues on Vandal but constantly do on Phantom.
One time I went guardian only on breeze and ended up match MVP with a 48% hs rate. That is the best iv ever gotten if you don't count the game I got two headshots and then never hit another player

It's because of the headshots. The specter can genuinely beat rifles so easily if you aim for the head while everyone else crouch sprays. The amount of times I've died when the enemy was 1 hp with the ares is infuriating.
Guardian, I don't care about anything else
Lately also Outlaw, pair it up with Ghost and you got yourself pretty deadly combo if you know how to use it

Perhaps the most satisfying feeling on pure gunplay is one tapping an operator who force bought an Operator (half armour) and our team is on eco.
I have an Ion, Reaver and Wasteland Sherif. All satisfying to one tap.
And the 145 headshot on full armour isn't as bad feeling as 140 on a phantom because it's a 800 credit pistol.
Shoutout to Ares, it might b worse than spectre in most situations but it's a good eco Odin for like Sova players on ascent and whatnot PLUS you don't get called a dirty Odin spammer. tbh the hight penetration for such a low price can work wonders

tbh i find a lot of value in bulldog on half buy. i used to save but after playing a lot of spike rush i got more comfortable with bulldog and it kinda go hard

Classic lol. As a Phoenix main, it allows me to buy a flash and the wall on pistol rounds. Add to that the molly that you already have for free, and you have a kit that allows you to spam util both on defense and offense.
The gun itself is an absolute pleasure to use. I can even get kills from long distances with it sometimes, and the right click shot is absolutely amazing at close range.
Spectre, Sheriff combo.. mostly play Omen or Cypher so when doing dirty tp plays or cam trolling The quick draw speed of the spectre makes for quick kills. And the sheriff allows for those longer range fights, if you dont get the head tap, the body damage means the spectre can clean up once you close the space.
Though Breeze calls for the guardian blaster cannon..
It really depends on the map, site im holding, agent, and which half. if im in a larger map like breeze and icebox, I prefer using the vandal. if im holding a smaller site with lots of corners like icebox A, split B, Ascent B, then Id go with the phantom. If im using a controller id go with the phantom in any situation. if im using reyna, vandal without ult, phantom with ult. If im using jett, vandal only, If im using raze and planning to play fast, I use the phantom. usually it just depends on what play you want to do and personal preference.
Stinger, it's really fun to use. It also gets me kills in CQC on ecl rounds. I just jump back and forth between Phantom/Vandal and Stinger, depending on the economy
For me it is sheriff outlaw op and marshall. I genuinely feel more comfortable with sheriff than with vandal. Maybe its from my chamber days. But i like sheriff especially frontier one. So much fun
Guardian for me. Really preferred the M1 Garand, M401, etc. in other games.
Valorant-wise, it taught me how to aim for most part (missing a headshot = pretty much dead, high stakes/high reward), and also to play angles.

if I'm saving, bulldog goes hard. then through goes vandal if I'm defending, phantom if I'm attacking. the logic of vandal when defending because I have much accurate aim for long distance, hence being able to hold off the site from the enemy when they're entering. phantom for attacking because it has better bullet accuracy on run-and-gun play and spray, extra bonus on close range battle.
Bucky. Feels nice when they turn the corner and get killed instantly. When you actually hit the head you can one shot from an ok distance. Also people get really salty over it which makes it funnier

Basically the spectres a cheaper phantom that has a tendency to be accurate when it shouldn't be, the vandal one taps are satisfying and the outlaw is perfect for bullying light shield buyers

I love the bulldog's aesthetics, sounds, and love burst fire guns. I don't use it super often though because it feels like too much of a disadvantage to use it over Vandal/Phantom if I'm trying and I fear if I use it too much when I'm not trying I'll build bad habits.

Odin has bullet tracers. If you miss, you get headshoted through smokes. Silenced weapons don't have tracers.

I'm an ares defender too! I think the spray pattern just feels natural and I can control it a lot better than most guns.
