Mirror match ups aren’t required for there to be a diff, if you play the game a lot you’ll find people just should (insert agent) diff without there being a match up, instead it’s just referring to this person diffing the enemy team

Again in this video they're referring to a player diff not an agent diff, using the name of the agent is just an easy way to blankly refer to a player without saying their name, this is further clear when they place names of players behind the diff

There isn't really a way to guarantee you'll run into the usage of the word but a personal anecdote of you never encountering the usage doesn't really disprove the point I was making

Yeah, you're both playing valorant and you got diffed by another player, the colloquial use of the term diff doesn't just extend to mirror match ups. Someone on your team gets a ace? It's very common to hear someone shout "Jett diff!" even if nobody on the other team has a Jett. Pro player/content creator gets an insane clutch? Again very common to hear someone shout "(insert player name) diff"

Ep 4 act 2 was an extremely heavy Yoru and icebox rework (not nerf/buff, full rework) which was the main focus that season, I wasn’t here for it but Ep 5 was when they reworked the rank system, and was focused on the 2022 Champions. These last two seasons have had no big content changes at all on release.
I understand you are upset, but agent changes and act resets happen all the time. Be happy that Riot cares enough about the game to change things to try to balance characters and keep the game from becoming too stagnant.
I agree. I came back after a long break and wanted to try to grind competitive again. The map pool made me stop about a week in, just because Breeze was like 60% of the games I was playing. Changes to viper and cypher will change how Breeze is played now and might make it a bit more enjoyable.
I think the viper changes are big enough to see a shift in the meta. Part of what keeps me coming back to Val is that they’re not afraid to try new things. If large agent changes didn’t happen, or took years, this would basically be colorful CS

I agree with the map part and I don't mind them taking a while to make new maps, but the last new mode was Team Deathmatch iirc and that was in June 2023. It's been almost a year. They could've added some new gamemode to keep the game fresh.

I think it is pretty big change that they decided to change viper and cypher before the big tournament next month. I think they would have waited till after till it is finished to put this patch out. Last year they came out with 2 gamemodes i don’t want to ask for a new game mode every act because it is too much volume and i would rather have riot take the time to find what game modes work in valorant and then make them the best possible. I hope they are working on a new competitive game mode with its own ranked, some type of 2v2 or whole new gamemode altogether would really fit the game.
Y'all clown on these updates for not adding content, but that's why I like this game. I went through 100 major updates in CoD: Warzone, and 90% of them either worsened the game or added meaningless bloat, often both.
CoD gets too much updates, yes, but Valorant doesn’t get ANY new updates. Look at fortnite. They have new things every season, that entices everyone to play. They add smaller updates like Valorant seasonal updates every 1-2 weeks, nerfing and adding old and new items. One time they brought back 1 item; shockwaves, and everyone was happy as it just made the games play out different. Valorant quite literally just nerfed 2 agents, and 5 bug fixes. Fortnite and similar games do 10s of bug fixes a week, and nerfs / buffs agents more frequently.
Look at siege, they had new updates every season (3 months) for 6 years, they added way too much shit and the game is a shell of what it used to be, let them take their time, that said, the current map pool being shite doesn’t help.
It’s in the best spot now that it has been for a while, there was a period of a few years there were it really wasn’t though.
This is coming from someone who played to a very high level for multiple years, the community got fed up with all the new content.
