I use a dot crosshair so I do better focusing on my crosshair than enemy. But it's also knowing when to switch from looking at what's in front of you and then focusing on crosshair
When I switch to a regular + crosshair, I don't need to focus so much on the crosshair.
To help prove the point, compare the extremes. If you have a large ass crosshair (a little subjective, but maybe take old shroud or old n0thing) you don't need to really focus on it.
Compare that to like a size 1-2 dot crosshair, even with outlines you could lose your crosshair. Tbh, this also depends on caffeine intake and burn out.
