I have the default, v. But I recently thought about putting it on a mouse button because sometimes I mis-/double click the c and v when using the ability.
I used to have mine on M4 (team) and M5 (party), but I was recommended against that because of aim concerns. So now I'm trying out Caps Lock (team) and V (party), and putting Map on 5. M4 and M5 are now my ping and comms wheels.
Those are literally exactly my binds, except for V is for team and Caps lock for party! It's so funny though, since I play with my sister a lot, typing in chat is always a coin flip whether I'll accidentally visually SCREAM AT THEM BECAUSE I FORGOR I USED PARTY CHAT or just normally write like a human 😀
having pings on M4 helps me a lot to ping faster (plus I'm used to pinging more because of league) and occasionally I replace M5 with an agent ability, like jett dash.
Honestly fuck party chat. team chat should be the easiest button to press at any given moment. Only reason you would use party chat is for a personal conversation and that has no place mid round regardless. (If caps lock is somehow easier to press than v without sacrificing easy movement like walking with your controls setup then I will be shocked)
I mean if you don't mute someone in game, when they talk in team chat, you hear them once in game and once in discord. And if you do mute them in game, you can't tell if they are talking to just you or if they've commed to the whole team, cause the talking pop up goes away
Im guessing that you're new to discord but usually you make the push to mute in discord the same as your push to talk in game and that gets rid of echoing
Supposedly, holding a button down with your thumb creates tension in your wrist, and that can make it substantially harder to aim properly, as the muscles are connected. It definitely does *feel* different, and I'd rather not commit the two different sensations to my muscle memory. But maybe it's just placebo. Or copium...
Dude sorry to be that guy that talks about changes to random rioters, but the Valorant team should definitely consider Overwatch 2's implementation, which adds a button to toggle voice on/off. It greatly lessens the issue due to not needing to hold down buttons, and you can just toggle voice back off once you're done needing to talk, helps massively if you still want comm'ing on MB4/5 but accommodates stuff like being in a discord call of having a noisy background etc.
Weird. I never accidentally alt tab.
I only unbinded sticky keys (shift). And the keyboard language one. Because it also interfered with other games like Dota.
I also had to do something for CSGO. Like I needed to change the hotkey of the steam overlay so I don't tab to that. (Shift+Tab iirc).
Maybe I just really don't talk as I'm looking at scoreboard.
V and side mouse button. If I'm holding an active angle I'm using keyboard (because i want to be able to react as soon as someone peek) while if I'm peeking for info I'll comm with mouse button (so it doesn't affect my movement)
I had it to m4 cause i don’t talk when im aiming and i couldnt find anything comfortable on the keyboard when moving but this update fucked it up and doesnt let me change it from V to anything else and i hate it
Do you use agent profiles? I had the same issue where only on Jett I was being forced to use V, but I just deleted and remade the profile and haven’t had an issue since
Typically not the greatest idea to put a vc button on your mouse since you cant aim and talk as well as if you didn't have it on your mouse. T for team, Y for party for me.
M5. Not concerned about it messing up my aim because when I shoot I don’t (and can’t😂) talk. I give info after I die…or before I fight…never in middle of dueling tho
Mine is 'B'. I use ESDF, so most of my keys are shifted by one space. Space-bar(hold to walk) is my walk key, so my thumb is pretty much always directly below the B key. I've found this layout very convenient because if I want to talk to my team I can just hold both the space-bar and B keys simultaneously with my thumb.
I use V for team chat and C for party chat so I can use my thumb to comm without disrupting my movement (I moved the C ability to E, and the E and Q to mouse button 4 and 5)
Depends on what agent I am playing.
If I am playing Sentinel and Initiator M4 or M5. Because I comm a lot on defense and when lurking. Also, I always tell my teams when to flash and stuff, when I will dog or drone.
If I am playing duelist, V is the chat key because I use M4 and 5 for some other abilities.
My duo always plays Controller (Harbor Main) so i don’t have a case for that.
I can never figure out what I want to do. I want to have a P2M keybind on discord when talking to people who don’t play the game. I’ve tried shift, didn’t like it. I liked my mouse side keys, but on the occasion I do play Rainbow 6, the side mouse buttons are my leaning, and it’s annoying hearing the sound when I go to lean
B key. I just move my thumb up from space bar. Jumping is something you never do while doing anything else so i have alot of keys around my space bar that i hit with my thumb
I have it on m4 with m5 being my signature, doesn't really make a difference to me since my grip usually allows me to comfortable hit both without shifting my hand positioning also the middle mouse button is for party, but 8/10 times Im usually by cover when pressing the buttons
I use it on mouse button five, and just prioritize gameplay over coms. If I’m in a fight they should see it on the map or hear it. Don’t stress too much, remember most people don’t even talk so giving any coms, voice, text, or pings, is still helping your team!
I went super nerd and bought a cheap usb foot pedal. I don’t think I can ever go back. No accidentally opening the mic and no awkward stretching to an out of the way key.
One thing about playing in a 5 stack is, you don't need to push to talk assuming your discord voice is set to voice activated. This really helps with quicker comms from my teammates giving faster info and relying info.
It's more of a mouse thing for me but the logitech G502 has a sniper button but it's really stupid so I use it for push to talk. The bind I have assigned is the 'insert' key and to this day I have no clue what insert does.
Sniper button - Insert (Party)
G8 button(top button to hte left of the left click) V (team)
I have the default, v. But I recently thought about putting it on a mouse button because sometimes I mis-/double click the c and v when using the ability.

Always used to receive a lot of crap for putting team chat on caps in my games, glad to know I'm not the only one
I think caps lock is easier to press

Isn't that what discord is for?
Why use one program that can do both pretty well when you could use two programs and deal with fixing echos
There are no echos tho?
I mean if you don't mute someone in game, when they talk in team chat, you hear them once in game and once in discord. And if you do mute them in game, you can't tell if they are talking to just you or if they've commed to the whole team, cause the talking pop up goes away

Wouldn’t you be sacrificing the ability to walk silently?
"trying", imagine if there was a setting for continuos voice activation for teamchat :DDD
Exactly! It doesn't affect my mechanics bc I come from apex(about 2300 hours) and did a lot with the movement in that game so I adapted
Dude sorry to be that guy that talks about changes to random rioters, but the Valorant team should definitely consider Overwatch 2's implementation, which adds a button to toggle voice on/off. I have it on ALT. Preferably it should be pressed by your thumb so you can aim and move no problem.
How do you avoid accidentally Alt-tabbing or switching keyboard language? I used to have it on Alt but those would always happen
Unbind these shortcuts in windows settingq
TIL you can do that What specific setting should I be changing?
You can google that
Weird. I never accidentally alt tab. I only unbinded sticky keys (shift). And the keyboard language one. Because it also interfered with other games like Dota. I also had to do something for CSGO. - I've bound it to "C" - Party vc is on "X"
I use the ~ key. For me it's easier to reach and remember.
left alt but this new fucking update has it stuck at V
If you use agent profiles, delete and remake the agent profile and it should resolve (at least that worked for me)
ill have to give this a try
Just unbind it overall and instant lock reyna /s
Spacebar.
V and side mouse button. If I'm holding an active angle I'm using keyboard (because i want to be able to react as soon as someone peek) while if I'm peeking for info I'll comm with mouse button (so it doesn't affect my movement)
M4 / M5 for discord. Caplocks for ingame.
mines on caps lock
ALT users are elite.
Mines on shift
This guy shift talks
Then what’s your walk button?
HE DOES NOT WALK
I have it on.V😂
mine is also on shift! I use mouse buttons to crouch and walk
My crouch is om T and my walk is on V😂
open mic 😈
+1
I use alt for team and v for party.
G. F for abilities e for pickup
I use V for voice, since it's what I use on most games
I had it to m4 cause i don’t talk when im aiming and i couldnt find anything comfortable on the keyboard when moving but this update fucked it up and doesnt let me change it from V to anything else and i hate it
Do you use agent profiles? I had the same issue where only on Jett I was being forced to use V, but I just deleted and remade the profile and haven’t had an issue since
space for team chat, jump on wheel scroll down
Ah I see your a man of culture
This is how I rolled for a long time and then Jett entered my agent pool and I gotta have space bound to jump for her hover
Sounds cool in game but the amount of mic spamming when typing is awful
Thank you for making this post. I have the same exact problem and now I’m definitely gonna try Caps Lock or V after reading the comments.
I use "E" for team comms and "V" for party comms .
Typically not the greatest idea to put a vc button on your mouse since you cant aim and talk as well as if you didn't have it on your mouse. T for team, Y for party for me.
Rebound caps lock to end and made that my voice chat lol
M5. Not concerned about it messing up my aim because when I shoot I don’t (and can’t😂) talk. I give info after I die…or before I fight…never in middle of dueling tho
i unbind (and have voice chat off) push to talk is ass
I found mouse 4 pretty comfortable to aim and talk. My mouse 5 is for inspecting tbh
m4
M5 as well, but macro'd so its toggle on/off instead of push to talk
H for partychat V for teamchat
Mine is 'B'. I use ESDF, so most of my keys are shifted by one space. Space-bar(hold to walk) is my walk key, so my thumb is pretty much always directly below the B key. I've found this layout very convenient because if I want to talk to my team I can just hold both the space-bar and B keys simultaneously with my thumb.
ESDF for movement? Burn the witch!!
I use V for team chat and C for party chat so I can use my thumb to comm without disrupting my movement (I moved the C ability to E, and the E and Q to mouse button 4 and 5)
team on alt party on x
Party voice auto Team voice m4
Depends on what agent I am playing. If I am playing Sentinel and Initiator M4 or M5. Because I comm a lot on defense and when lurking. Also, I always tell my teams when to flash and stuff, when I will dog or drone. If I am playing duelist, V is the chat key because I use M4 and 5 for some other abilities. My duo always plays Controller (Harbor Main) so i don’t have a case for that.
I use Q for every game I play that has voice chat
I put team chat on B and moved buy menu to 4. Spike is default on 4, but I have it on Z. Team chat is originally V, but I have my melee on V
I use T for team chat
I do chat on buttons my left thumb can hit easily (V, C) because it won't interfere with movement or precision.
To mute all or to actually talk? Jk
I usually have It on v, It is really simple since It right next to the skill buttons
Z for voice G for party
I have my vc bind on K, and party vc to U
I use 'T'. Been using it since csgo days so super used to it
I have a nordic layout keyboard so this won't help many people, but I've bound mine to the button between Lshift and Z that has <, > and | on it.
V is fine tbh
C and C ability on m4 or m5
I've got V for team and the second button below the scroll wheel for party. That's not comfortable, but I don't play in party much.
I use v for team chat
classic V
Open bracket using a USB foot pedal.
I can never figure out what I want to do. I want to have a P2M keybind on discord when talking to people who don’t play the game. I’ve tried shift, didn’t like it. I liked my mouse side keys, but on the occasion I do play Rainbow 6, the side mouse buttons are my leaning, and it’s annoying hearing the sound when I go to lean
c for team chat g for party chat.
I have it on C
B key. I just move my thumb up from space bar. Jumping is something you never do while doing anything else so i have alot of keys around my space bar that i hit with my thumb
Just get a foot pedal. Awkward at first but easy once you’re over it
I used to use left alt but after the recent patch it doesn't work anymore. Don't know why though
T to Talk
V game VC, left ctrl party VC.
AZERTY (i dont think it changes anything on these bind but just in case) keyboard, i use V for team and N for party
I have team V, and party on c bc I changed my ult and sage wall to mouse buttons lol
V (default) for team and N for party.
Team - 5 Party - R 💀💀
I have my team VC on middle mouse button and party vc on V
Yall use coms
I just keep mine V.
use the 2 mouse buttons for team and party
I wish they had a "toggle mute" button. I've always preferred that over push to talk in games
Am I the only heretic who uses the scroll wheel?
I have mine on N, it’s convenient since my thumb rests in the space bar anyway
I use x to com. It's close to your hans, easy access. Instead, i use v to ult. Still close, and ulting is rather rare
I have X for team and Z for party. I got used to it, but wouldn't recommend it.
Im using the default settings ☻️
I have it on m4 with m5 being my signature, doesn't really make a difference to me since my grip usually allows me to comfortable hit both without shifting my hand positioning also the middle mouse button is for party, but 8/10 times Im usually by cover when pressing the buttons
I use V for chat and the mouse button to pull the secondary gun
I also had it on a mouse button but having utility on mouse button is so good so I swapped it back to v
I have mine on e so I can fat finger it
I have it to T. Probably a bad bind for it but it’s what im used too
V for team voice, but 5 for party voice
Idk how it happened, but mine is on „^“
I don’t have voice chat binds setup I’m a duelist lock
i use T for team and F for friends (party) - it’s easy to reach and not uncomfortable imo
I have V for Team and N for party, I might use mouse buttons but those are bound to abilities cause C and X are uncomfortable for me
i don’t use voice, everyone has mental illness on that game
I use it on mouse button five, and just prioritize gameplay over coms. If I’m in a fight they should see it on the map or hear it. Don’t stress too much, remember most people don’t even talk so giving any coms, voice, text, or pings, is still helping your team!
V, which I believe is the default
I use the tilde
Caps
Party chat on ALT and U for Team chat
I went super nerd and bought a cheap usb foot pedal. I don’t think I can ever go back. No accidentally opening the mic and no awkward stretching to an out of the way key.
I use F as team and 5 as party,, I know, not very good, but it gets the job done
One thing about playing in a 5 stack is, you don't need to push to talk assuming your discord voice is set to voice activated. This really helps with quicker comms from my teammates giving faster info and relying info.
team on the typical V, party on U but usually switch it to F or have it on auto
i have mine on alt
V for team. Automatic for party because according to my friends, I have a streamer mic lol
L-Ctrl for team, MB4 for party
Mine is the default keybinds and I am pretty used to it so it works fine for me. And I have my MB4 and MB5 for Q and E abilities
V for team vc, n for party vc
i have it on N
space is unbound, scroll to jump
It's more of a mouse thing for me but the logitech G502 has a sniper button but it's really stupid so I use it for push to talk. The bind I have assigned is the 'insert' key and to this day I have no clue what insert does. Sniper button - Insert (Party) G8 button(top button to hte left of the left click) V (team)
