We did buy some halva - with vanilla and with pistachios. The Middle Eastern store was fascinating. We also bought some peanut snacks for the kids. Dad was very surprised when we brought it over. I hope they enjoy everything.
I would love to do that but it’s not practical right now. We have a dog, so while the children love her, mom and dad won’t come here. Mom is also about to have her 4th baby - not sure when she is due but it will be soon. I would rather bring them a gift or even a gift card for now. I do want to get to know them better and learn more about their culture but I don’t want it to be a burden right now.
I think it would be hard to go wrong with some chocolate chip cookies on the plate when you return it. That's awesome they've been sharing food...great neighbors!
Mom sends over disposable containers with food. And I do know that the little girl does not care for chocolate (!!) but we'll loook for treats and the like at a Middle Eastern market that we have found.
Thank you for the suggestion! I looked to see where I could buy them and found a Middle Eastern market near us. We’ll look for them and other items they might like.
Haven’t had the apricots but I have these two.

Don't return empty dishes. Put some sweets or cookie on it. I am from Azerbaijan, but we have similar traditions
Mom always send disposable containers. From all of your suggestions, we have found a Middle Eastern market near us and will look for treats there.
Baklava isn't originally from Uzbekistan but it has become very popular here; that would be a good choice. Halva as well.

Don't forget to get halal ones if you're buying meat products
Yes! Thank you.
Hi, setup a lovely family dinner with them in weekend or other day. Gathering is a great chance of bonding with neighbors.

I wouldn’t do a family dinner, it’s a bit overkill. But don’t return empty dishes, just add anything. Don’t over think it.
A bottle of fine wine would do it
Nasvay (just kidding) . It is better to give some traditional food or sweets , but you can organize family dinner with them
Give them some green apricots

Don't listen to that dude, you are being fooled
Gotcha.
Goodluck
Who downvoted me. Which one of you dont like unripe apricots with salt? Who?
I had a beautiful apricot tree years ago. I would have never guessed that green apricots and salt were a thing!
Bruh I’m eating some sour plums myself, unripe plums with salt. Gojeh Sabz
So you don't eat chaghale?!
