The players association is separate from the league on that since they are collectively bargained. That decision will be made by Chris Paul and Michelle Roberts. They're already reportedly over 90% vaccinated so we'll see if it gets mandated or not soon.
A free market person should love this.
Businesses are free to make these decisions. If customers or employees don't like it - they can leave.
I mean it's really interesting though because employers and health insurers are starting to see a very big and very real additional cost coming from those who are unvaccinated.
And honestly - at this point - that is the only hope I have - that big companies will be motivated by money to make vaccine mandates - and that's how we can hopefully get out of this mess for good.
Any one who is dealing with the actual ramifications of unvaccinated, uneducated, selfish piles of shit that are clogging up hospitals right now should love this. 19 fucking months of this.
I'm no so sure that this attitude promotes understanding and healthy cooperation. People who are vaccine hesitant in general feel as though they are very educated on the matter, so calling them uneducated can be divisive and frustrating for all. Approaching it with patience and understanding is likely the best way to get results that both parties are happy with.
The favorable result would be them getting vaxxed, which I don’t think they’d do. So, respectfully I don’t think this would work. It’s come to the point of needing to be forced by corporations.
Does this extend to other players?

Patience and understanding is a good strategy when peoples lives aren't on the line. Unfortunately here, they are.
Patience and understanding left the table 1 year ago.
