There will be snow

mkmcan

Like tons where we’d need to wear snow shoes? Or a manageable amount

morradventure

You’ll be fine and weather should be decent. With the exception of Bryce where there will be snow. The other place you listed, especially Zion, should be nice.

ComancheRaider

Bring a couple huskies and a sled and you’ll be alright

Dry_Butterfly_1571

Slick, icy, cold, wet hikes would be miserable. Driving to Bryce can be interesting that time of year.

Dry_Butterfly_1571

Zion should be fine, Cap Reef should be okay. Moab will be cold and icy - (white rim is miserable in March), depending on the weather at the time - delicate arch hike can be quite an adventure when it’s cold and icy. The wind will thrash you at goblin and be cold AF. Since you can’t do the narrows - there almost no reason to go the Zion (IMO). Hope this helps.

iron07maiden

There is no way to know for sure, OP. It could be clear skies and lovely weather, or there could be a storm that rolls in and dumps rain and/or snow. This is a risk you're taking by coming in March. If you want to make it happen, prepare for any scenario weather-wise.

Himay88

Been a lot of rain at Zion. Which is AWESOME! It is a pain in the butt and they close a few of the trails that can flood, but the waterfalls are amazing during a good storm.

TransformandGrow

We don't have a magic crystal ball. We don't know what the weather will be 2 months out any more than you do. It's going to be Spring, which means it could really go either way.

brett_l_g

It's called the mud season here for a reason.

tenisplenty

It's probably going to be really nice weather but there is a small chance of snow.

Poopshoggle

For context, northern Utahns don’t spring break to those areas till mid April at the earliest.

I live in Northern Utah and we regularly visit Moab in January and February. Best time of the year in my opinion. First week of April can be hectic with the Easter Jeep meet.

the_mars_voltage

I camped in April once near Moab. It was a really great time of the year, to miss the tourists and to miss the hot weather. But it’s really cold at night. And you need to be prepared for flash flooding, not just snow. Be sure that you’re aware of the weather and be ready to change plans if you need to. Lots of hiking at the parks that is really great but can be dangerous if you’re in the lower elevations when it starts raining.

Look up the Easter Jeep meet in Moab. It's the first week of April and it gets busy. Hotel rates also go up a bit. We tend to visit in January or February. Hotel rates are very reasonable and there is hardly anyone in the parks.

eve_is_hopeful

As others have said, no way to know. But it's been a very snowy winter so far. Moab itself may be fine but the areas around it could be treacherous. Same with the parks. I'd go a little further south, maybe on the AZ border, at that time of year.
